Hey Dave, I'm that messy Kevin ^^' Nice battle we had, I could not keep up with you in straights because of the light damages I took first lap (right in front of you), so I gave everything I had on brakes and trying to keep cornering speed the best I could You didn't kill me on my moment, it was fair to not kill you when you had yours haha Hoping to see you again on track, was a pleasure!
Ye it was great racing with you i was suprised i didnt get penalty on the start but i took advantage of it and killed my tires after 7 laps i was losing 0.7s/l and i couldnt keep the pace i had hopefully next time we will get chance for some nice battles
Nice drive Dave - well impressed with your pace the times will come down with more time in the car - watched the PESC race both from yours & Jardier's perspective - you did well buddy - keep up the great work....
Good stuff as always Dave! Did you say someone called you old? I don't think you're even in your 50s yet, so if you're old I'm ancient! This is my last year in the 50s... maybe that's why I'm so slow, maybe I need a mentor! lol 😂
It’s wild when people mess up then get furious at someone else for their mistake. I’ve run into so many people who go off track then attack me for passing them or just cuss me out cause THEY lost a position cleanly or their duty move doesn’t work out.
Great racing - always interesting watching you try to refine your line as the race progresses, with a beautifully measured overtake thrown in too. Can't help feeling PESC has arrived at the wrong time for you - perfecting your ACC and LFM - but hopefully, experience will triumph over youth!
I've had a hard time wrapping my head around the GT3 Cup. ...although to be fair I've had way more fun with GT3 R so I haven't spent much time trying. I always lock up a wheel and I'm sunk. I guess I need to stop trying to find the threshold and just release the brakes, get the wheel spun up again, and then try. ...one way or the other I'm almost certainly off track.
The problem with Road America in slower cars is that the moment everyone spreads out and there's no more draft, it just becomes a convoy until someone messes up. Completely becomes static.
It's a problem at a lot of tracks with long straights in more modern cars in general. Pit stops/endurance distance are kind of a requirement for the racing to get interesting again. (Its why I'm so mad that noise regs make long enduros impossible irl at Road America)
@@coliimusic The alternative is RA Moto and the day I drive Moto again is the day I will neck myself personally on edge of that god damned chicane. It ruins the best part of the track, even though it's basically an extended long straight and the whole problem of it. The Kink and zooming through it is one of the best parts of the circuit, why in the holy fuck did they decide to put a chicane there?! Was it the FIA again? I bet it was the god damned FIA again!
He may not have gotten the penalty if he was still inside the box and was stationary again when the lights went out. I've had a couple like that in mx5 where it lurches an inch or 2 but don't get a penalty.
Don't do iRacing, but in AC I find the Porsches almost un-driveable. The front end wants to skate straight on when I accelerate out of turns, and the rear end is completely intolerant of any excess acceleration. What do I need to do?
Dave can you do a video that shows us how to have our painted cars show up in our inventory and not just show up on track as we race if that is at all possible.Cheers
Haven't been in iRacing for a while now. The cars look so wooden compared to how they feel in rF2. How do you reckon they compare Dave? Have you given the new GT3 updates a go yet?
Dave I know where your losing pace. Firstly your brake pressure is too high and your over heating the tires. You only need around 80-85% max brake but I see you hitting 100% quite often. Brake inputs seem very jumpy, I would try a softer pedal setup to get more modulation. If your running Invictas id say they are too stiff to drive this car fast. Try your HE Ultimates out as you need a very long trail brake on this car to make them turn in. I raced Roman Fuchs2 last night and finished miles ahead :)
Krystian probably managed that tight line throughout the loooong right hander because he went in wider on coast for better rotation and then went through on the throttle in a tighter line as soon as he was able. You seem to have come in consistently too tight IMO. Or maybe you just play with the throttle too much in the mid corner, which may be pushing you wider and into understeer.
@@Django45 I thought Dave could use a wider entry angle too, but that alone doesn't explain how the leaders were pulling off 2:08s during the race. some guys are just on another level.
@@afterthought6889 it is all training and car control. Dave was practicing to become better, it is only logical he would not be at the top. A few corners were very tricky and technical to get right.
@@davecamyt I just watched and it seemed like the guy you would chase in the beginning would late apex more than you and that is where he seemed to gain some ground. Trust me, I can't drive as well as you. But I do know your apexes on some of the corners in the opening laps seemed to be half a car length to a car length back of Krystian and the other guy you were chasing down. Your double apex in the Carousel was also different. I also know after two or more years of watching you race I don't recall you early apexing before but you are racing with glasses on now and I wonder if that is the difference? I know as a glasses wearing guy now I find I don't pick up apexes and distances the way I used to. Part of aging perhaps?
Last months I used irffb but this season I switched back to iracing ffb as it seems they improved it a lot. I must say I quite like it but it‘s not as good as in other titles
@@harald2101 i'm mostly interested in tcr, the tcr's in iracing have the worst ffb out of any car in the game, some like gt4 etc are ok but the tcr is horrendous, doesn't even feel like a car, the underneath physics seem really good for them but the ffb... my god it's bad
Come on, Dave. Clearly, the only reasonable way get better driving a Porsche Cup Car is to go buy a real Porsche Cup Car. Never mind the crippling debt and/or indentured servitude that would be required. Perhaps a Go-Fund-Me could help.
Ow my ears!! The high pitched, blood curdling, cat in a blender whining from the turbo was unbearable, my ears actually bled. Honestly though I hate Porsche's. They have barely changed design in 50 years and still look like a kids toy. Great racing though Dave.
more of that please Dave. great to see you back in a cup car.

im glad i am not the only one that struggles at this track. I can't get close to 2.08 for the life of me...

About to start driving the 992 this week, this vid has me excited! Also Dave, where can I buy one of your DC shirts? They’re awesome
I had to watch this muted/very low volume and i just noticed that RUclips subtitles types [music] for the engine sound 😂
I think if you're stationary at the green, and you didn't go too far forward, it's fine.
Let’s school the youngsters! Here’s to old guys!
