@@driven.videos The video wasn't entirely clear you were referring to the track, but you are probably correct. Many track review videos indicate if driving the M3P balls to the wall, you won't get much more than a single lap before overheating the battery or brakes. So the M3P would have to be driven more carefully-not a concern for the m2. Of course, straight line drag strips are another story...
I own a 2017 Tesla M3, 2021 MYP, and a 2024 M3P. They get better and better. Using feel in your fingers, you know where turn signal is and how to use it. Non issue. My new M3P is best car I have ever driven....pre tesla i owned 5 bmws over the years. Try FSD for a month and you will never want a car without it. It is insanely good. I have had fsd for 3 years, and the latest (12.5.6.3) is out of this world good. 10x better than i can drive. 10x safer than a human. FSD is Tesla's gigantic advantage in the auto market place. @dyemanoz I think more than anything, it's the fact that EU market is not as much of a priority. Secondly EU regulations don't allow for a lot of Tesla Features (actual smart summon, proper FSD)
Wonderful review. Production quality is top notch. I've had my '24 M3P for four months now. I absolutely love it. Biggest surprise was the handling on curvy canyon roads. I couldn't believe how confident it makes the driving experience.
I wish I had one as a second car, after my Model Y Performance. The compromises of the Model Y are just perfect for me - the Model 3 is a bit small. But as a second car, perfect (for me). I bought my Tesla new in August 2023, and I now have over 20,000 miles on it. I also still have my Infiniti M37, but I have not driven it for over a year since I bought the Model Y. Which means I have no use for a gas car either. I haven't even ridden my BMW K1300s motorcycle since I got the Tesla. Plenty of speed in the MYP. In fact, the MYP is faster than the old BMW K100RS I owned from 1985 to 2015. In Europe, you don't yet get FSD, and I'm hooked on that feature. It's a great driver assistant, but it's still not robotaxi-capable. But even today FSD routinely drives me everywhere, and it rarely has a problem (in Arizona). And yes, it's cautious. (Think professional chauffeur ferrying the Police Chief's daughter to the high school prom - ultra careful.)
@@driven.videos of course its exaggerated, but all this whining makes me eye-rolling, some lamborghini or ferrari have no stalks and nobody is complaining about this there....
@ you’re right, but on a Ferrari the left indicator is on the left of the wheel and the right is on the right. In that instance it works. On the Tesla it just isn’t as intuitive. (IMHO)
@@driven.videos true, but its way less an issue as reviewers claim. yes it will take you one day or two to adapt - but you know what: after half a year i drove a car with stalks again and THIS was a weird and unintuitive experience, i dont want to go back despite all the "issues"
I own a M3P for a year now, and those cons of controlling the mirrors and steering wheel only bothered me only once, when I picked up the car from the dealership. After setting it correctly i never had to touch it again. And then let’s be honest. If you only need a button or knob once a year, what’s the point of an ugly visible physical button?
I have had exact spec car for 3 months and honestly the lack of stalks is a non issue. On the point of adjusting the mirrors and steering it’s a one time job. These settings along with all other driver setting then get associated with your phone. Whenever you get in it recognises your phone and adjusts automatically. You can add multiple accounts so everyone has their own settings. It’s easy peasy. I do agree the the rear view mirror point though!
I bet you don’t play many video games. The Tesla makes sense if you do. Your brain isn’t used to remembering inputs based on muscle memory or more your brain has been trained to think in an analogue way. The younger generation is more used to this type of thing… I guess. That all sounds a bit patronising but it’s come from a concept point of view. I also don’t get complaining about adjusting steering wheels and mirrors… you only need to do it once. Why have a mess of buttons and knobs for that.
I'm a motoring journalist, I test at least one new car/motorbike/van per week and drive countless more. It's my job to review and remark on things that I notice. These observations are exactly that, observations. Don't let my remarks be representative of a negative review because they're not. You're almost certainly right, and if I had the car on a 6 month long-term test, I'd probably agree with you. I'm just narrating things I noticed in a few days with the car. Thanks for watching - John
I think you nailed it. I've come to love the turn signal buttons on the steering wheel. It's hilarious getting into a traditional automobile and mistakenly trying to press turn signal buttons on the steering wheel which do no exist.
Been using m3p for only week. Already love the button more than stupid clunky stalk. Guess my brain is just better than you and other so called “car enthusiast” out there whose brain cant handle car without atalk😅
If you pick an m2 over a Tesla -ya got rocks for brains

It's non existent in UK/EU

I suspect it gets 3 miles per kwh. (3 miles per kw is like saying I get 3 miles per 4 horsepower - non sensical)
He also said it charges at 250kWh. He’s got the two backwards. It’s a common mistake made by a lot of people, but still annoying.
