He was a pro bowler. HE went 13-of-17 for 189 yards and two touchdowns. He threw touchdown passes on the AFC's first two drives of the game, then went to the bench and came back in the fourth quarter to lead the AFC to the go-ahead touchdown.
Some other underrated WRs all time imho Herman Moore - 3 straight first team All Pros, 3 straight 100+ reception seasons. They tell you Barry Sanders played with the worst teammates ever but Moore was a great receiver. James Lofton - sort of the 1980s Randy Moss. Tall, lanky with track speed. Averaged a ridiculous 18.3 yards per reception in his career. Retired in 1993 with more receiving yards than anyone. Of course it didn’t last long but still. Jimmy Smith - Only had 288 career receiving yards before turning 27. Had 12,000 yards after that age. Has as many 1K yard seasons as Terrell Owens and Larry Fitzgerald. Playing for the Jaguars didn’t give him the recognition that he deserves.
I guess I'll add to the list. Anquan Boldin was just as physical a receiver as Andre Johnson with good hands and solid routes, never nearly gets the recognition he deserves. And I'll also add Harold Carmichael. Hall of Famer receiver, 6'8" and very respectable speed, and always put up decent numbers year after year as part of that Eagles team had nobody recognizable from the 70's into the early 80's.
I could make a 12 man dream team roster of greatest WRs to never win a ring Larry Fitzgerald Randy Moss Terrell Owens Steve Smith Tim Brown James Lofton Andre Johnson Cris Carter Calvin Johnson Julio Jones Andre Reed Steve Largent
Andre we still have the most upmost respect for you in Houston. Such a great human being. This is who players should model themselves after on and off the field. I feel so bad for u. No Qb really to speak of. You really deserved so much more.
@@ThienN2000 It doesn't matter why he sucked, he sucked. how come the team all of sudden got better when Schaub came and we got rid of carr? Carr never wanted to work like he was supposed to. As a starting QB in the NFL you have to put in long hours during the season he didn't want to do that.
Dude would've _averaged_ 10 catches, 140 yards and a touchdown for _every_ game he played for 10 to 12 years *straight* had he played with Brady or Peyton. No cap.
My question is what would you have offered to the Texans in exchange? There are just too many choosing beggars saying how much player X will be much better on their team, but refuse to make a proper offer.
Andre is my favorite player ever, growing up in dallas, my dad and i were texans fans, i had stage 4 brain cancer so w went to houston for treatment, andre couldnt make it but several others could, this is one of the many reasons why the texans and andre were a cornerstone of my childhood
Honestly these 2 making this vid together makes a lot of sense, silent/underappreciated guys who made mediocre (schaub and winston) QBs look good who both were consistent
Been a BUCS fan since I was 10...23 yrs later still am. I didn't like Mike when he first came in, seemed hard headed, whined a lot on field, always getting penalties but he's matured into a great player and overall man. Seeing his fans always get a ball says a lot, he could be collecting all the TD balls for himself (stays healthy he's bound to be a 1st Ballot HF). Just hope he stays with the BUCS his whole career, as I see some hard times coming (went all out to win A SB like the Rams this year, cap issues etc)
I think that adds to his legend and white people love him so much he has a deep ass voice and never talks he was a bad ass and let his game do the talking
Can you imagine if Mike had Tom as his QB since 2014 he would have over 100 tuddies easily instead of 73 Tom would be good for at least 4 or 5 more per year to Mike.
I'm glad I still own 2 Battle Red Andre Johnson Jerseys. And people might hate MATT SCHAUB but he was a Decent QB glad to own his Jerseys as well. Never bought any other jerseys of the new Era of Texans. Our Organizati on is a Cluster fuck RN
I'm glad Tom Brady went to the Buccaneers and not just to win the Superbowl but to get more players that Spotlight that are really good they just don't get the credit that they deserve especially Mike Evans
Mike Evans is the best offensive player to wear the Bucs uniform. A class act. An unselfish player. In my opinion, Mike Evans will get a gold jacket and bust in Canton, Ohio.
Would put this man over T.O. coaches would have dbs try to beat Andre up(back in the head hunting days). He would catch them all and havent seen more than a few recievers over the history catch passes while getting rocked. Owen's on the other had a heart that wasn't as willing when crossing the middle.
I really wish there was actually film breakdown. This is literally just 2 guys watching a couple highlights and done. This idea is great but horribly executed.
Plus a helluva guy.. but never underrated in my personal opinion cause he was always rught there at the top. He just never had a great QB or had much post season success but thats not on him
I’d still say it’s different generations. Andre got drafted in 2003 and Mike got drafted in 2014. Andre retired in the middle of the 2016 season, so they were only in the league at the same time for about 2 1/2 years
Generations in Football or most sports has to be a lot shorter than a standard Generation so valid to me. Ten years might be too long for a Generation in many sports. After Ten years few when you started are still playing and the game has changed. Ten plus year players really feel like the next generation talking to the next.
Mike eveans better be in the hall of fame after he is done this man has produced 1000 yards season in a row with different and trash qb like this man is a problem
Andre is never gonna be in the hall of fame, but his case just shows you how much politics plays a part. If he'd played for a winning franchise,he'd be walking into the hall.
