Poor Rublev, he was probably exhausted from his 5 setter against De Minaur. And after knowing to win he'd have to do another 5 setter, it looked like his exhaustion started to catch up to him. You're playing really well, Rublev, keep it up! Sooooo excited for Sinner's success this season :)
Always a pleasure to watch these two clobbering balls at each other. Two of the most explosive backhands in the game today. Sinner is playing career-best tennis, excited to watch him and Nole battle it out with a trip to the finals at stake.
Rublev is really raising his game, more consistently at the top level, with more patience. Those rallies were truly tit for tat where I expected Sinner to mostly dominate most rallies.

They are both world class awsome players and despite his name Sinner is a humble champion but Rublev Humbleness when he interviews makes me want to know more about his story , love that guy !
To anyone that says tennis isn’t high intensity as it was in the golden era, this is proof you’re wrong. These guys are actually hitting insane. The speed and footwork to each ball is nuts. Tennis is at its peak for sure .
Great play by both, I cant believe rublev could even stand after his deminaour match let alone do as well as he did vs a fresh sinner. This was a perfect match for sinner to be ready for novak
Sinner has been playing with such conviction. Has truly lived up to expectations from last year's form in the fall. The true test comes next: what will he do against Djokovic? This looks like it could be an epic one.
🟩⬜️🟥 Really impressive growth from him in recent months and the impression is that thanks to his internal balance and concentration he can continue to grow without any limit. Refinement, intelligence and calm. The Italian creative genius perfectly mixed with the coldness of the Alps. Ladies and gentlemen, the next world number one: Jannik Sinner 🇮🇹🇮🇹🦊
That was damn impressive. Poor Rublev must have been thinking, “What must I do”? Sinner is playing at a very high level and he seems to believe that he can win this tournament. He and Alcaraz are my two favorite players these days, both are electrifying.
What’s really telling about just how GOOD Sinner has been playing is the fact that even after beating a top 5 player in STRAIGHT SETS in a GRAND SLAM, people still say he played bad. He could go out and slam Djokovic in 3 and many people would give him a 7/10 score. That’s how high is potential is!
Jannik is on another level right now. He's displaying that innate ability to raise his game in the clutch that all champions have. If he plays this way against Djokovic, he beats him and then Alcaraz for the Australian Open title. He wasn't fazed when he was down 5-1 in the tiebreak. That was Andrey's best chance in the match, and when he lost the tiebreak, you could see the air go out of him.
Second set tie breaker was a heart breaker... Losing 6 points in a row from 5:1 is tough. Andrey probably still drained emotionally from 5 sets match against De Minaur. And Sinner matured a lot, hope we will win AO this year!
The huge difference I see in Sinner's game now and 6 months ago is that he is hitting the ball a lot cleaner, he hits the spots very well, doesn't miss as much as he did 6 months ago and he also learned to stay in the rally a lot longer... Kudos to him and his team for doing such an amazing job and let the better player win on Friday 🔥🔜
The most important improvement is his movement and consistency. Also his serve has become a weapon. He has also matured a lot more. The test now is Djokovic. Would love to see him play Carlos in the final.
- Sinner the Winner! 🥕 - Sinner is so good mentally now. Even down 1-5 in the second set tiebreaker he comes back wins 6 points in a row and clinches the set! - We knew it would be a battle of groundstrokes but Rublev was just outgunned. - Sinner served so well and had no break points against him. - Looking forward to Sinner vs Djokovic next. Sinner beat Djokovic twice in November 2023 so he has the confidence but this is Novak’s court where he hasn’t lost since 2018.
