Video concept: "The death of melody".
Think of songs in the '50s. Think of songs in the '60s. The '70s. The '80s. The '90s. The two thousands. And so forth.
There's a gradual decline of melody, for rhythm and harmony, and even that is gradually declining to simply atmosphere and production / sound design.
The contention - to prove or disprove, as you will - is that, across all genres, melody has consistently declined in popularity (starting with Claude Debussy onwards). That music is strangely running away from "having a tune" to it. Vocal performances increasingly cover a smaller range of notes. Once the star of the show, melodies have become increasingly avoided and seen as "cheesy" somehow. And, like, this is NOT a lament at "modern music", as this trends has been going on for at least a century now.
      Discuss.

so grateful that I got a chance to see @AdamNeely in Sacramento when Sungazer was in town, my goodness! Button Masher and Jared Yee- wow. I immediately went and checked out your videos on IEMs after the show as well as checking out the iConnectivity gear. I think this may have been the first show ever where I was up close in front of the stage and there were zero on-stage monitors, I love it- it must be incredible being able to hear everything, I can't wait to experiment with this in my own little projects. I wish I had been able to stay and chat after the show- definitely next time!! I really appreciate you do that and connect with the audience. Thank you for the show and the masterclass (it had sold out before I could get a ticket so I wasn't there) and being like....awesome humans, that's all I can say, much love for everything you are doing!

So my friend and I saw Sungazer in Vancouver, Canada and it was a fantastic show. It was when I first really realized that Adam is an *incredible* bassist???? Like, obviously I knew he could play really well, but a lot of his RUclips / Nebula stuff is based on education and arranging. So when he absolutely shredded this track and Hot Saturn like 4-5 meters in front of me it absolutely blew my mind. There's something different about seeing music live.

Been watching Adam's videos for about 7 years, just saw Sungazer for the first time in Portland...wowww, absolutely mind blowing, and i agree not only his bass playing was phenomenal, but his presence and energy was way more badass and fierce than I expected, he is an amazing musician to see live! Well done my good sir! Your skills, ear and sensitivity to the genre are supreme. ❤ Following since 2023 and this really excited me 💃 thank you! I personally am feeling it in slow 4/4 with quintuplets, where one beat is what is a single 5/16 measure in the video
