Disagree with Cornesy, technically. I don’t think the Dons’ intensity shift started in the second half. I think it started in the second half of the second quarter. But it certainly ramped up after half time

Yeah, but I get why: last two years have shown how much things can change.
Geelong and Collingwood in 2022 were mediocre at round 9 and then lost once between them for the rest of the H&A season.
Blues and Giants were rubbish by R13 last year and then each ended up being very tough to knock out of prelims.
Sydney are favourites but it’s not a sure bet - and there is always the injury bug.
Swans fan but I wouldn’t call them favourites, same for any other team. Long way to go, we’ll see if they can maintain it.

Ross Lyon's teams have always been terrible at scoring. His lack of attacking mindset and concentration on defence has always been on full display and his greatest weakness as a coach.

It is astounding he wasn’t taken from the ground for a HIA. Geelong prioritised the game over the well-being of a player yet weren’t penalised by the AFL. End result delayed concussive symptoms.

Not sure how the Port player constantly holding and scragging Tom Stewart 50m off the ball is "disciplined" football, but maybe that's just me.
As an Essendon supporter I think we might have one of the worst defensive backs other than McKay the only thing I need to look at is efficiency inside 50 for the opposition to have over 50% everyweek.
Possibly The best midfield right now and will only improve with the youth. Merrett the best kick in the comp influencing his teammates on defensive pressure and his kicks into 50.Sam Durham and Caldwell clearance/tackle gods.Darcy Parish had 850m gained one game, I think that’s all you need to know.
Forwards in 2MP and Langford, the best set shot kickers in one team. 15 marks inside 50 against gws but not the best finishing as not seen for a while
Reid and Ridley coming back will be a big boost to our back 6.
Bottom line dude bombers are definitely gonna make top 4 and give it a shake this season. You can feel it happening 😊
Agree to an extent. Laverde and Kelly are complete liabilities, but once Reid and Ridley come back in we are looking a MUCH better defensive unit. God bless McKay though, has been worth every cent this year!
