Hi SRG! I'm Rick, Just subscribed, and am 68 and retired Mech. Engineer. I used to Sim Race and Sim Fly (Then earned a real License!) in the '80s and '90s up to around 2000. Just a year ago, I decided to check out what up-to-date Race Sims and software are like. I was amazed, and decided to build a new rig. I built my own PC (did that in '80s too), built a custom 80/20 rig, Simucube Ultimate, 3 Asus monitor setup, Ricmotech hydraulic pedals, and then added a DBox 4250i system. Great to see a lovely young Woman Sim Racing! Take Care and God Bless! :)

SimLab GT1 EVO is super popular right now too. Honestly, there isn’t much value in buying any PRE fab rig that costs more then $500 with the EVO on the market. I have the GT1 EVO, NLR V3 and SimLab Podium side mounts. Couldn’t be happier.

  • @MrAudi220

You made a great decision with this cockpit i was looking into one too so i watched alot of reviews of these and it comes out really great,it's highly modular and it's one of the most stable especially when using dd wheels,i personally have a thrustmaster t500rs on a wheel stand pro,and it moved alot while racing, but it's a great base to build a home made cockpit around it since the wheel and pedals are already fixed to a adjustable base. The advantage i have is that i have my original car seats to use for my cockpit since i put recaro pole positions in my car,so i decided to build my own rig out of wood.I used 9cmx9cm garden poles, sawed them at a lenght of 150cm and 2 pieces at 40cm(this is also the exact same width as my wheel stand pro)and made my cockpit base out of that just put my wheelstand in between it and i mounted my seat upon the wooden frame i made so o sit higher then my wheel and pedals(plus the seat has a rail for forward and backward adjustment and it has height adjustment) and then i just sawed 4 pieces of 7cmx7cm to a lenght of 45 cm to use as my monitor stand, and i must say it's very stable, hasn't moved a inch since and completely changed my racing performance and it only cost me around 75 euro on wood and hardware,my wheelstand costed me 129 euro 3 years ago,so very cheap for a very sturdy setup,i highly advice to use a rig when racing preferably a very sturdy one like the p1x because you never know if your on the market for a DD wheel future wise.Nice video btw👍✌️👉

Absolutely awesome set-up, in fact pretty much my dream wheel, wheelstand, gearstick and pedals!! I'm intrigued by the fact you race with a triple monitor setup rather than a next gen headset like the HP Reverb Pro. Personally I think that the VR goggles give you a more 3d view of the world and objects, corners, angles and perspective are just better than any triple monitor setup can achieve. I only have an Oculus Rift and that has screendoor issues but I suspect the higher res headsets now available may solve that. Interested in your thoughts?

Also "Lost the time-lapse footage". is clearly code for "I took longer than GM to put the rig together but I have too much pride to amid it"
To be fair the cable work on the back of my rig looks like a Bungee jumping Rastafarian where as yours looks nice and tidy, so this was why you get a 2 rather than a 1.

A quick note on the monitor angles you're using (45°), did you calculate the required angle based on the monitor size VS viewing distance? If not, theres a highly detailed guide on the Race Department Forums that explains how to set the correct monitor angle, AND the correct FOV based on your physical display size, monitor bezel thickness and the position of your eyes when seated comfortably.
I'm not saying your 45° measurement is wrong, just that you may want to check that is the correct FOV to he using based on viewable screen size, bezel size, and seating position in order to calculate the correct monitor angles to be using and eventually calculate the FOV to use.
Thanks for your time, have a good day/evening :)

Could the Vesaro cockpit not cope with the torque? 🤨 Vesaro sells this with a DD2 (just that the DD2 costs 2500 pounds from Vesaro)... would be a pretty sad story, if it couldn't take the torque.

This is a common issue in all her videos, and its becoming known...
If Fanatec spent as much on making sure their Chinese stuff was built right as they do on giving her free shit, theyed be a whole lot better off...

    • @moeFinley
      @moeFinley 4 года назад +5

@@leerigby5735 I'm sure it's a great rig. Sim Racing Garage seems to confirm. But there is always consumer advice a reviewer can give. They would have talked about 80:20 kits being cheaper to build yourself, being heavier and more complicated to build than welded rigs. Did she even talk about the price? Even without using the rig I know the absence of these topics makes this video nothing more than a shopping channel.

Fantastic setup. Very clean. Looks awesome. I have to say I am looking at going down this route as I have out grown the gear drive logtech wheel I have at the moment. I race cars in real life (Currently own a Mitusbhishi Evo) but its so expensive to maintain with out sponsers. This seems to be the best way to feed my cravings with out having to pay out for new car parts every time I hit the track.

How is the noise from a sim rig? I always had the problem, that my steering wheels made a lot of noise because i am using a normal desk, for example while driving over kerbs or sliding. The Wheel thumps or vibrates in a strange way i think my neighbours can definitely hear.
So im wondering if using a simrig would get rid of my noise problems.
And the pedals not to forget. Will panicbraking forgive me?

Zeitverschwendung the more solid the rig, the quieter the overall experience. I have pretty much the same setup as SRG (same wheel, base, pedals, shifter, and chassis) and it’s silent except for clutching and shifting.
