As someone who traded in an S1000R on a 2020 1250GS, I have to say, I am totally loving the new bike. It lacks the warp drive power of the s1k, but overall the bike is much more enjoyable. The monster torque out of corners is endlessly entertaining. Never mind that I completely power through bumpy sections that use to make me slow to a crawl and dissect foot by foot. The new 1250 motor is great, and gas that wonderful even firing order exhaust note that all other competition in this category totally lack.
Just brought this exact bike - traded in a 2017 tiger explorer - not even in the same league - I think this is the best bike in the world - unbelievable - your a great rider and love watching your videos - especially liked the triumph speed triple RS you did - love the 1250 - having had a r1200r. I believe the difference is huge

Gewundert hat mich dabei nur, dass Dich das Motorrad ohne Warnweste schneller als 35 km/h fahren ließ. :-)

Ingenieur1961 Given the number that BMW sell it doesn’t seem an issue but yes they are expensive but they hold their value better than anything on the road, the part exchange difference is normally lower than other makes. Just bought my third, my first new one, but big savings if you buy approved used and they don’t really run properly till 10,000 miles plus, wouldn’t ride anything else.😉
@@IanTed Maintenance is also very expensive and no reliable as Honda for example. I had so much problems with my 2017 one, i was scared to go on trip. Maybe was only a bad luck and i also never got used to that stupid engine iddle bell sound. Made me think like there is always something wrong w it. So in my case NEVER AGAIN
Can’t understand why I’ve not seen this already? Anyway, for me, this just shows how versatile the GS is, as there aren’t many touring bikes that one would want to ride like that. I’m not saying the GS is a touring bike - the GS is capable in many departments; having fun in the twisties, touring, exploring the odd dirt road, and what I like about it, is that it is quirky with that big boxer engine and weird suspension, yet it all seems to work. Yes, there are a few other bikes that’ll do the same, but there has to be that variety to make it interesting. Edited because of my typos 🤪

i just got my 2013 r1200gs with just 5k miles..and im super happy with it, it have more than enough power imo and its a pleasure to ride it, i come from s1000rr and s1000r, i know it's not the same purpose but i think the gs is a excellent all rounded bike for my needs. This 1250 sure is a very nice upgrade but ill be enjoying my 2013 for at least a couple of year and then maybe going for this one. Cheers

I just got back from riding a R1250 GSA today (7.13.19) probably the best bike I’ve ever ridden ( to me ) dips into a corner sooo easily - I’m sure its even easier on the GS.
Good lines are most important on an unfamiliar road and these look really good to me (maximising line of sight). As an aside I'm assuming the 40 limit is advisory ;)

WaffleBot as a 1250 owner i can tell you, you do not hear this great sound with your helmet on, its the way he records the sounds which makes it ‘loud’

The 1250 GS has made the wasserboxer what it should have been in 2013. I’m happy they have made the improvements. The top end power is better and the sound is much stronger. Who needs a sport bike when you have this?
I still don’t get where would the GS fit. On road ? Off road ? Can it jump? My mind hurts. Or I’m just thinking too much. Maybe a test ride won’t hurt…

I am fortunate enough to be in the position to buy either a GS or S1000XR and I'm finding it difficult to choose. both are equiped with the amazing shift assist. both are super comfortable and excellent to handle in the twisties. any thoughts?
the XR aint super comfortable at all in regards to the engine and handle bar vibration. It's on steroids and sucks fuel as hell when driven properly. I can understand that ppl like this... i don,t and prefer the Boxer.
@@Schaaf just yesterday I took the s1000 out for a lengthy test run. It already has heavy bar ends on and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I'll never take the gs off road so it would be a waste of a good bike.

I dare not even imagine what it would be with the engine more run, with a complete exhaust line décatalyé, a sports air filter (DNA Stage 2), a setting of the ratio air / gasoline perfect ... Mamamiaaaaa 😱! It would become a formidable weapon against any motorcycle! Enjoy! 😉✌🏽

how does the handling on this compare to the multistrada? im thinking of getting a 950S this one is a little out of my budget
Both are similarly easy to handle. The GS handles better at low speed and has superior suspension to the 1260

an meinen alten Fahrstil inklusive Schräglagen werde ich nie wieder rankommen, das geht mental nicht mehr. Macht leider auch deutlich weniger Spaß so.

I'd take the XR for road riding but it is true that it needs a lot of fuel. I didn't mind the vibrations at all

I have a question ... how do you export your videos with adobe? is there any particular setting? my videos do not seem to be as good as they should once rendered.. yet I also use the gopro 7 black with nd filter, resolution 2.7k 24 fps shutterspeed 1/48, superview and protune ...

No particular setting. I leave everything and just set the Bitrate to CBR and 25mbit

i just got a 2019 1250gs. haven't had a chance to put it to the test yet but it's a beast compared to my 2010 rt, which is for sale by the way wink wink
