I have a knee replacement and i'm fifty eight years old. I could not run before the knee replacement because it just killed me. I was too tired and too painful. No I run and I've worked up to 40 minutes and I'm an even more pain, but I just premeditate with tailanon motrin. And just do it. I think my mental toughness has gotten stronger with age. Even though i'm physically declining.

I ran smoothly for about 3 months until discomfort arose in my right knee. To alleviate the issue, I took a break for 2-3 weeks and engaged in alternative exercises like burpees. However, the pain resurfaced after 15 minutes of running for 30-40 minutes. Any suggestions or advice? I made a mistake by not purchasing proper running shoes; instead, I used my regular walking shoes. Two months later, I switched to sport shoes, but they weren't designed for running. I later discovered that this may have caused the knee pain. Additionally, I heard that combining running with stairs may not be advisable. In my running route near my house, there were about 4-5 stairs, and I would go up and down them 4-5 times whenever I encountered them. Could this have been the cause of the problem? Also, could it be related to stretches or warm-up? I never did warm-ups, sometimes stretches. People say light stretches, but I'm unsure what "light" means, so I just do some random stretches.

For me I’m right around 16 mph or 27kph and top speed running for me is around 20mph or 33kph but out of breath in less than 1 minute

Me and my son are starting with a mile /1600 metres
And want to slowly drop the distance down to 100metres sprints while at the same time increasing our intensity
What’s the best way to do that ?
I just thought amongst distance at slower speed works be a good place to start to get used to running and not get injured
We did try sprinting straight away previously but I think one time I hurt my hip flexor or something . It feels like like we need a little bit of conditioning over 3 -6 months to get ready for more intense sprints
We are both tall and heavy too, over 6 feet and 240-260 pounds . I’m 44, son is 16
We want to run 2 to 3 times a week.
We also loft weights 2 to 3 times a week

20 min 5k is for pros. Maintaining or sustaining the pace of 15 kmph for longer periods is the ultimate challenge.
