      No, I strongly disagree. This is the period where he lost his voice. Biggest bunch of faggots during this period. They lost me with the shitty ass Black Album. Cliff would've left the fucking band if they went towards the Load image and sound, no fucking doubt about it

    The image they chose to adopt is what made these records a hard swallow. They combined a record that was a drastic shift with an image that was basically a slap in the face of metal fans. They were perceived as joining the Alt Rock scene when the music was way more blues influence. Had they kept their image more natural I think the backlash may not have been as bad.

    Load/Reload 2 of their absolute best albums!! They really used their imaginations on these 2 albums... to bad they stopped doing that :(

      XDoomriderX yeah now your saying they are 3 and 4 in the list, originally you said they are the best albums they've made. Anyone who thinks load is better than MOP, RTL or AJFA is fucking insane yo.

    load, reload, and st anger are the most underrated albums. EVER

    • @jaymz
      @jaymz 7 лет назад +2

      Just because it's a different genre doesn't make it bad. St. Anger has a good guitar tone but everything around it sounds like shit. St. Anger does have good content aswell.

    • @allsystemsgo8678
      @allsystemsgo8678 7 лет назад +1

      It's bad because the songs suck, it has nothing to do with what genre they're playing.

    • @jaymz
      @jaymz 7 лет назад +1

      Trulysarcastic44 Your name says alot about your comment.
      All jokes aside, Metallica doesn't need to stay metal to be relevant. If Metallica produced metal everytime, they wouldn't even be part of the big 4. The songs don't suck, they have a deep meaning to them that some can even relate to. The songs in Load, Reload and even St. Anger have more meaning than the previous 5 albums. I use the first 5 albums if I want to get me in the metal mood, and I use Load, Reload, and St. Anger if I want to cool myself down.

    • @allsystemsgo8678
      @allsystemsgo8678 7 лет назад

      To each their own. I dont care if they dont play metal(although its a little bizzare for a band that has the word metal in their name...) To me its the quality of the songwriting. Lyrically I dont think James lyrics are all that good post black album. Kirk showed a lot of promise in the 80's and completlely plateuaed. St anger is an awful sounding record. Lars sounds like he's htiting a garbae can. Like I isaid, to each their own.

      *****
      He wrote the main riff of Blackened and the intro of My Friend of Misery, which are both cool, so credit to him on that. On the other hand it shows that he actually contributed if he had good material... maybe he didn't contribute more because his other ideas (if he had any) weren't as good, not because he wasn't allowed to do so. But I think his best part was his commitment in live situations. xD

    They did have some creative stuff on Load and Reload. If they hadn't made those albums, they wouldn't big the biggest metal band on the planet. Then again, I think there is a difference between "straying" within the confines of your own sound. And changing it totally like they did. Then again, it obviously worked.

    03:12 "The Ulrich/Hetfield experience."😆
    04:42 "He really started introducing James and me things like harmonies and melodies." *The rest of the band laughs in background. 🤣
    07:49 James talks about the lyrics hilariously.
    08:05 James talks about the lyrics. "I'm all better now."
    09:30 The Fade to Black backlash. Some fans were against that song.
    11:29 and 12:06 Well, Jason's hazing never stopped.
    11:53 James: "Just 'cause he was in the mix now, he thinks we have wait for him." Wow.
    13:15 Kirk talks about the One video. 🤣

    People don't want other people to change. They want others to be what they always have been. But Metallica are nothing like that. They are constant outsiders and don't want to fit in anywhere. And remember, die hard metal man Jason was the first to cut his hair 😙

    It's Metallica without Cliff or Mustaine so Lars and James in the driving control seat. Justice was what they knew from before turned more progressive and what not. Ad to that the best management in the music business behind them Q-prime. They can fuck up who cares and they do. People do not boycut their live perfomances or stop buying their music in all sort of formats.

    I can understand why they released Load, it was 1996 and for them to have kept making Thrash/Heavy Metal albums would not have fitted with their concept of continual evolution. Load had some decent tracks on it but was bogged down by weak filler. Reload was an awful record, 2 semi-decent tracks on there at best. St Anger was a mistake and should never have been released.
    Trouble is, they themselves have gotten caught in a rut and the stuff they are releasing now is very very poor. They've lost it really.

      Not entirely true, there are exceptions and even times where there will be a key change in a song but yes they definitely write a lot in e like every other metal/hard rock band. Unless you just mean the load/re load material
