    Me in the 90’s riding a CR500 laughing at this short. But I must say the 250 2 stroke had a nasty power band in the mid 90’s

    Dirtbike editors are way behind. SERVICE HONDA has been building AF since 1997. Aj Waggoner is still building them today under a new company name Built500. Where was Dirtbike magazine when Travis Pastrana raced the 500 during the RedBull Straight Rythm?? Where was Dirtbike magazine when Robbie Maddison used the Service Honda CR500AF for Two long Distance Jumos?? So, a New person decides to build a one off of his own 500af. Then Dirtbike magazine gives him reviews. Aj Waggoner has built more 500af's than anyone. But, for some reason you give credit to someone who has built 1. ??? I question your motives.
    Not to mention Aj Waggoner's position in the AMA.. Dirtbike Magazine needs to give True credit where Credit is Deserved!

      @@JeffStoess yah I assumed it was rm500 because first time I seen it up close it didn't resemble any cr500 engine I ever seen. And since rm500 never watercooled I assumed it was custom. Turns out the left side is custom to accept mini sprint car pit starter. To date bike is electric start confusing us all ev3n more. 😆

    To be clear nobody has worked with Honda of Japan. Aj Waggoner is the only one who has the rights of Honda to produce the CR500af.

    • @DislodgedTKO
      @DislodgedTKO 3 года назад

      That actually is super correct actually. Aj waggnor has rights to use "AF" after the bike title, so technically the magazine needs permission from aj waggnor to call it a "cr500af." But from my experience aj is a super nice guy and isnt gonna stress over it

    all i can say is--why is it legal to run a 250 four stroke in the 125 class,
    and a 450 four stroke in the 250 class? think about that.... 2 strokes
    make more power per size, period. dont believe? go ride an xr80, then a cr80...

    • @shallah777
      @shallah777 3 года назад +2

      Right! That's why I don't take 450 riders serious when they brag about beating 250 2T. I'm like, "you're supposed to beat them you have 200 more cc"

    • @jsonracing4838
      @jsonracing4838 3 года назад +2

      2stroke vs 4stroke, it's legal as it should.
      2strokes: 2 strokes for each ignition, 4 stroke has twice as many strokes.
      Meaning cubic inches also doubles to "basically" get the same engine.
      difference being powerband and weight, 4 strokes genereally has more horsepower but higher weight, 2 strokes has weaker powerband down low but pulls just as hard on higher revs. it's a preference.
      Combining 250 4strokes and 2strokes in the same category wouldn't be fair either.

      @@jsonracing4838 do you think the 2:1 ratio holds up still nowadays with how dialed they have the 4-strokes ? Like the newest CRF 450 for example vs. even a 250 2 stroke
