    These looks too easy. I've been struggling to get a raspbian working with an SSD, will try it tomorrow when my Micro HDMI cable comes.

    Hi Lee, Thanks for the video's. Had a RasPi 2B for sometime and only used it to play media files. I have a really slow internet connection, so would appreciate your help. I downloaded Noobs 3.3.1, inserted into the RasPi, and from there installed Raspbian onto the micro SD card. I would like to set up a multi boot system on another SD card. I have loaded BerryBoot to it, and installed Puppy Linux. After BerryBoot loads up the OS boot screen, click 'Edit Menu' and from here you see the BerryBoot Menu Editor. Are you aware that if you click and hold the 'Add OS' button (First on the left) that you get the option to download or load from USB. As I have already downloaded Noobs to this lappy and then installed the full version of Rasbian to a different SD card I'd love to know how to transfer the OS into BerryBoot. Pheww, hope all that makes sense :)

    This is really cool. I notice that the website for Berryboot that it only boots Linux distributions. How about Windows for ARM? I'm sure that the answer is No, but I thought I would ask.

    Berryboot does not work on RPI-4.
    Although when installed with NOOBS, the USB3 is allowed to be installed on an SSD, then it does not start ...
    In none of these ways can it be installed on an SSD.

      Berryboot works fine for me with an SSD. I accidentally wiped my Berryboot sd, reformatted it and put the Berryboot files back on. It still works with my SSD running the multiple operating systems that were already installed.

      @@jlwtrading It does work with latest Raspbian. Use 7-zip extract the contents of the inside of the folder to the root of the sd card for BerryBoot. I use SD Formatter which is free on Windows and formats it to FAT32. So far I am using an Inateck USB 3.0 with a Kingfast SSD I picked up for $1 and it's 240 GB. There's a copy of the latest bootloader on raspberrypi.org, I've used each the old and new, and each worked with leepvideos method. The cmdline.txt file will show you a new UUID= tagline if your drive in USB 3.0 enclosure is readable, and ready.

    stupid question time: does the microsd card with berry boot have to be left in all the time or just at the point of installation?

    • @leepspvideo
      @leepspvideo  4 года назад

      cyberlizard I haven’t tried removing it while its running. I guess its probably safe to remove as long ad the Pi isn’t accessing it. I’m curious as to why you want to remove it?

      Alessio,
      You could, but Berryboot uses images in a squashfs file format. I haven't found one yet, and converting a normal pi image to squashfs format hasn't worked for me. You can find a lot of converted images on git hub. Just search for Berryboot images.

    No one can hear what you're saying, you need to buy a lapel mic. Also, you want to find a way to capture video directly - filming a screen with a camera looks awful. But keep up the good work and thanks for the videos.
