I’ve played every healer and I’ve always viewed preservation as cd based version of a Resto Druid. Druid set up their hots preemptively so that their big heals when need heal for more. Evokers do the same but they rely more so on their cooldowns and echos, they literally have a cooldown combo for every situation you can think of. The issue for them is when they run out of CDs. Without this season tier set, spot healing can be an issue for them. Glad to see the tier set bonus is now baseline.
Zuco try the other debuffs with engulf call me crazy but azure strike slow is adding damage also it's not just the hots, tail swipe with the flame shaper talent works too.
offensively i think you use the slowing ability and the flying breath ability (sorry cant remember ability names lmao) to get more periodic effect stacks for engulf defensively its mind boggling what type of combos you can use. HOTS would be; dream breath, reversion, verdant embrace increased ally healing, temp shield, echo, dream breath… i cant think of any others. but those combos would be crazy
To deal with the range issue you mainly cast manual echo on ranges who refuse to stay in range(looking at you Hunters, Mages and Locks). For me TA should suffice.
Preservation is way too complicated for me. You need 500 IQ to understand how you can combo all those abilities. As if the range limited but hyper mobile playstyle wasn't hard enough. 😢
Thats why its fun for me, but I've been playing this game far too long. It's also the kind of challenge I like. I heard arcane mage was big brain but there's so much memorization. Pres. is more of a creative, open-ended thing.
I know this may be irrational, but I literally can’t play Evoker until they get more customization options. I just can’t play that slender weird human dragon thing. Even if they just gave us the beefy guards that walk around valdrakken I would be down. Also the visage options are so insanely crazy. You can’t even make just a normal looking person.
yeah blizz needs to fcking balance their game and redo class numbers is rly stupid no one asked for this retarted numbers some healers u dont even feel u heal till y play envoker and just do 1 to 2mil heal crits like yeah blizz obv most balance thing ever at this point give all the other healers the same power.

Yeah, they've got 1.5 months to get the tuning right on different specs. I revisited Holy pally last night, and it was performing much better then 2 weeks ago. So time will tell, just gotta wait.

What really makes Preservation fun is the echo spell, you can do so much with it which I hope every healer spec has something like this.

Something else to try... double dream breath, double reversion, and echo your engulf, was getting 3mil crits single target

FYI, echo'd engulf does not duplicate consume flames or traveling flames.
