Also, I’m sorry about the weird changing of the aspect ratio :/
Note: I do not own this, and will take it down if asked, no need for copyright strike :D
As much as I'd love to send this to peeps, I can't spoil the president's solo
You’re a living breathing green flag
so true one of the most moments ever
It’s such a glorious moment you just have to experience it by watching firsthand 😌
So true, my friend sent it to me but I introduced the show to them lol
Still can't believe they played it at NYCC the year it came out (before it came out properly that is)
Always make it a tradition to watch this in the fall
Same, it’s such a great show.
It's a must
If you don’t you have no culture 😤😤
we have no fall
@@redemgrop6067 very sad
“Yes sir, young man!” Always makes me cackle.
I'm glad I saw your comment, I always thought he was saying "young ma'am", knowing what he's actually saying just makes it that much better
I love how knowing the context doesn't really make half of this stuff any less ridiculous.
I don't even know this cartoon lol
The shear disappointment in the beast’s voice when Gregory is presenting his golden comb
“This is a honey comb..”
I love it
But really was the beast expecting Greg to bring more
@@theworstspeedrunnerI assume each task was supposed to keep Greg ocupied until he froze to death. He just figured out ways to retrieve the first two, so finally the beast gave up and just asked him to catch the sun.
@@McAppl3d I mean yeah but still I like to think there's just a solid gold comb out there
Probably with Ady
"Golden comb of honey! Ehehehe!"
@@McAppl3d Oh I thought it was just supposed to be a cheeky subversion of the riddle fetch quest trope. Characters are always sent on these fetch quests that are actually just riddles they have to figure out as some kind of character test, but Greg is so in tune with how this world works that he just figures them all out immediately.
You forgot “iM tHe hIgHwAY mAn”
dammit I knew I forgot something lol
I'm the highway man
@@spaghetti5914 I make ends meet
@@lilawhite1887 just like any man
just like any man, i work with my hands
"You're not the witless simple-minded fool everybody takes you for!" "Hiii dee diddly umpdidum dee day!"
I know right? 🤣
"And don't call me old lady!"
"Yes sir young man!" 😂😂
Speaking as someone who has never seen this show, the child with the teapot hat has captured my heart, he is very adorable
Ain’t that just the way
@@Julia-tk2em Literally the perfect response!
that's greg and we love him!
I'd die for Greg
Ah beans
I love how the beast in this video is completely absent except for that one scene.
"That is a honeycomb"
Priceless
It’s my favorite quote from him, I just feel like he regrets choosing Greg.
The monster who's entire shtick was slowly grinding people's hope and turn it into despair? Greg was getting through it in a matter of days.
"I- I can't argue with that logic, tho... Go catch the sun now and just die, please"
_~What the beast probably thought after getting trolled by a little kid_
I never noticed how much trouble everyone has with doors in this show.
"We're here to burgle your turts!"
That kid is just unbridled joy and wonder.
4:32 I love this clip beyond imagination.
For some reason Elijah Wood being the voice actor makes it better
You gotta admit you'd do the same thing when home alone
unironically sent goosebumps down my nape
Yes.
YES
Me and my family quote “we’re here to burgle your turts” every day 😂
Me and my brother constantly say “Ain’t that just the way” over the most basic stuff
@@Julia-tk2em yes!! Same!!
i have changed my mind i love humanity again
I love otgw so much I'm basing my final major project on it
I'm going to recite a poem of Sara's tape on English class :DD dressed up as Wirt omgg
Both you guys are so cool, I hope your otgw-related projects turn out well! :D
Omg yall are so cool all the best!!
You guys sound so cool I hope it went well for you both!! Also this reminds me of the time I did a presentation on Wirt’s character development for my English class a few years ago :))
I'm rewriting it as a stageplay adaptation. I don't think I'm actually gonna do anything with it, it's just for fun.
I swear I've seen this series 4 times now and still love it. I wanna make a beast themed boss for DND one day, cause I love how cool and scary he is
I literally made an NPC for dnd that was an eldritch being trapped in a lantern that could do all sorts of fun stuff and immediately upon introducing him one of my players just kind of looked at me and was like “this is the dnd version of the beast from over the garden wall isn’t it”
@@greetingsfellowaliens9793 I love that, I was running a homebrew single person campaign for someone once and they ran into a telekinetic swordsman with a sword that was red with anger and they went "this is supposed to be Vader, isn't it" and I choked cause they got it so fast
@@PesterJester3 if you’re not blatantly imposing pop culture figures into your dnd homebrew then what is even the *point*
@@greetingsfellowaliens9793 exactly, I only did it on may 4th though as a little nod off to star wars since I'm a huge nerd
I'd play that DnD
'I'm an egg' caught me off guard
I also like how the bird mother has no wordly possessions except a single silver spoon to feed her family dirt with
Glad this show's still getting attention :)
I love the single beast line, "this is a honeycomb"
Kinda disappointed that I didn't see "You can hold my hand Funderberker, I don't care" bit, but it's still pretty hilarious
Such a great line 😂 I was also hoping for “Potatoes and molasses” to show up, even just briefly
As someone who has not watched the show
I am very confused but intrigued
Highly recommend you check it out
its an insanely underrated show. Check it out :D
It's about a ventriloquist dummy from Mars 👽🛸 who brings dead people back to life and trains them to shoplift at the mall 🏬🤱🏼🤸🏼♀️
watch it
If you watch it, I can guarantee you that your emotions will not change by that much. It's great.
You forgot “maybe he’s simple”. That and “You have beautiful eyes” is what me and my siblings quote the most 😂
Greg is adorable and deserves to be protected at all costs, and if you disagree, FIGHT ME
this is a rock fact!
Does everyone get that this show is an adaptation to Dante’s Inferno? It’s wild!
Yeah that bit is really cool, it’s one of the things that got me hooked into the show
wHAT
omw to google this... I can't believe I've been watching it for years and never knew lol
What's Dante's Inferno?
@@Rebel_riot151 Inferno was written by Dante about his journey into Hell and the stages it goes through. I think it's classified as epic poetry
“The baker,”
“✨yea✨”
As someone who has never seen nor heard of this show, I can confirm….I am I utterly confused
I recommend you watch it, then!
@@rosykindbunny1313 I actually did! I’m so disappointed it only got one short season! It was so freakin good!
Bro I never really cared about this show until I saw an 8th grader dressed up as Wirt. If I didn’t go that day this comment wouldn’t even exist lol.
@@hannahsharpthe story only needed one season. It was a parallel to Dante’s inferno. Anything more would have been filler
I have a tradition that’s been going for years where I watch over the garden wall and have the last episode land on Halloween. This show is so good (I even named one of my frogs after the infamous Dr.Cucumber) also Greg is so wholesome and his chemistry with wirt is great
I have never seen this show before and have absolutely no context at all but this is wonderful. It’s a rock fact.
It's amazing, quite dark too
to the people in the comments saying that they haven’t seen this show, congratulations you’re my target audience (also watch the show it’s really good, there’s a lot of people asking in the comments where to watch, it’s on HBO max, or, alternatively, you could resort to piracy)
Where to watch it
@@coolllllllllllll It's on Hulu
@@coolllllllllllll or HBO max
This video actually got me to watch it lol. I'd been debating it because I knew my friends liked it, but this is what made me finally watch it XD
I watched this whole series on RUclips 😅
This is that one cartoon that I break out every fall and watch it all the way through to Halloween and it just puts me in this wonderful mood. Such an interesting show with some beautiful art in the music, story, and animation.
RUclips's algorithm took your advice.
It still is.
If you know people who haven't seen Over the Garden Wall... show them Over the Garden Wall.
Nobody:
My brain: "Oh potatoes and molasses! If you want some, oh just ask us!"
John Cleese as Quince Endicott has my whole heart 😭❤️
It’s so sad when you realise all these characters that Wirt and Greg meet are all dead.
They are?
@@SillyGoofyGoober23 yes. Wiry and Greg are in the purgatory as it’s revealed in the last episode that the entire time they were actually drowning. The unknown is actually an allegory to Dante’s inferno. It’s quite interesting
@@llmangomanll5693 riiight.. it’s been a while since I watched this show
@@SillyGoofyGoober23 i am rewatching it every autumn, it is just that great lol
Well not exactly. Some are dead some are.... imaginary? Although I can't say surely since the unknown is amalgamation of purgatory, time space continuum, dreams and all that stuff.. creator at least implied
Or i could just send this to my friends who know/ love OTGW to give them a random reminder that this beautiful show
This got recommended and now I am forced to be recommended this for the rest of eternity.
Thank you, this is hilarious.
Come on, if you haven't seen over the garden wall, you should! Is amaizing!
The fish showing up for half a second at 3:45 is peak comedy
Me and my family spend the summer on my aunt's little farm in the interior. Every time I bring with me a pen drive with Over the Garden wall full HD and get to watch it with my cousin. Such a great show that people still talk about it until this day even with only two hours of content.
I just heard about this show for the first time less than a week ago and I’ve already watched it start to finish twice. Still trying to wrap my head around it and I love every minute of it.
Sometimes the “out of context” videos of shows feel like a condensed distillation of the exact comedy of the show. But the vibes of this show being removed makes the comedy level AMP UP TO THE MOON
Like these things feel way less random in context, but it overall gives the vibes that this show is just straight non-sequitur comedy lmao
"This is a honeycomb."
Well, he's the butcher:
*"I'm da butcha"*
I think my favorite quote from this show is from Greg. “A pile of vegetables shaped like a car! We’re one step closer to finding a goose!!”
“It’s a rock fact!”
you know it just hit me how truly bizarre over the garden wall is. Just knowing the context to all these clips, the full show isn't much saner.
“Yes sir young man 👋” that one got me 😂
Best show ever. PERIOD
Okay, I’m sold. I will definitely check this out after my midterms
It's one of my favourites. Plus it's 10 episodes so you can binge it in a day
Legit, my favorite show.
This was in my reccomendation an I never watched this show before, but by these small 5 an a half minutes of short clips im guessing its just funky weird, an it gave me alice an wonderland vibe :) I might watch morr of it =D
“This is a honeycomb” 😂
Over the garden wall....man that brings memories, it used to be on tv once a year in octomber. I used to watch it when i was 6 years old
Holy shit, I didn't realize it's been almost 8 years since. I remember watching it when it premiered when I was in college.
1:30 JOLLY GOOD SHOW
Yes sir, young man!
I love that the horse's voice is the near exact same as that squirrel from Penguins of Madagascar
Well this is recent!

I have watched it, it's been so long that I don't remember a damn thing except something about a frog dancing and the last 10 minutes of the last episode
I have never seen anything about this show
0:00 - very ominous setting for cutesy looking characters

My friend and I are going as Wirt and Beatrice, but with a little twist. I'm gonna be human Beatrice, and I think she's gonna try to be Beast Wirt.
I haven't seen Over the Garden Wall nor do I know anything about it, but for some reason this was in my recommended
It's neat how in this scene despite Greg's joke, you can the Beast in the background, a subtle hint to how Wirt is too lost in his despair to acknowledge his brother's attempts to lift his spirits.
ive never seen this show so ig my youtube recommendations got it right and sent this to me
It's really good :) plus it's short, 10 episodes in total
every time I see a video like this about a show I dont know I make sure to watch it because sometimes it leads to a new obsession
How would I find someone who hasn't already been forced to watch it by me
The horse is played by Fred Stoller, who also played Chuck the Evil Sandwich Making Guy from Wordgirl. Just in case it was driving someone else nuts too.
Oh nice, an out of context video from a series I've never watched
I haven't seen this show, so when I saw this in my feed I figured it'd be a fun way to check it out. After watching, I'm very confused and will probably watch the whole thing.
Much as I loved this series, my favorite part of it was whenever Gregory would shut up. The beast managed to shut him up and nearly turned him into Edelwood tree, cementing him as my favorite villain of the show.

I will not stand for this heresy

I like that this is mostly Greg
Mmm thank you for this, I have trouble watching shows if I don't know the general tone beforehand, and I keep hearing good things about this show. This gives me a good enough idea of what to expect without spoilers that I might actually watch it this fall
When I was a child, it was family tradition to watch the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown special every Halloween.
Whenever I get children (or any of my siblings do) watching the entire OtGW before Trick or Treating shall be the new tradition.
I clicked just to make sure you included Fred the Horse saying "I wanna steal"
*this is a honey comb*
