Instantly recognizable as a Porsche wheel but you know it's a bit more special. All that said...get the correctly sized studs for the damn fronts! Tough love.

    I used to get the secondary air injection system fault on my 996 turbo. Happened maybe 5 times in the 7 years I had it. Hartechs advice (probably the UKs most respected 996/997 specialist) was to buy a cheap OBD dongle off the internet and just reset it when it randomly pops up. 👍🏻

    Matt. Look into Esco Jack stands if you are working on 911’s. They are flat topped and ridiculously strong. You can use them on Jack points of 911’s with or without a puck. My car sat on 4 of them for many months and I had zero concerns as they are so well built and secure.

    FYI- Impact wrenches shouldn't be used to tighten titanium lug studs/nuts. They should be tightened by hand and torqued accordingly.
    Also, the axle nut needs to be torqued 340 ft/lbs.

      The guy is not a professional mechanic, (not that I would let half the "pros" work on my vehicles), but these commenters are clueless.
      "FYI" he's using the impact only on the jam nuts. Then he's tightening and using a torque wrench. If you didn't hear him mention the torque spec then you're really not watching and have no business throwing stones.
      We'll all weep when you unsubscribe.

    • @matt13ross
      @matt13ross  10 месяцев назад +6

      Lol what safety hazards exactly? I don't mind criticism at all, but I'm not a pro. And the "pros" don't torque everything to spec, don't always do things exactly by the book. Unsubbing (and being public about it) seems pretty silly. Maybe if I had some rude comments about suggestions, criticism, etc, but I don't.
      Just my $.02

    • @1drwnd.porsche
      @1drwnd.porsche 10 месяцев назад

      @@matt13ross Reputable mechanics/shops always torque to spec. There is a reason why Porsche does it…. Otherwise, why bother specifying it on repair manuals….. Right?
      Not torquing axles, suspension components, or wheels to the right amount is always a safety concern (especially while driving at higher speeds). As for taking criticism (or not), there are a series of replies (from you) in which you have came across short/edgy. You may want to revise them if you are curious. A group of people have made similar observations… so maybe there’s something.
      The bottom line is… no one is hating or knows it all!!! We are all car enthusiasts that share info for mutual benefit. However, it’s your car/your life… do as you wish! Your content is good… Keep it up/stay safe. Cheers🍻

    Looks even better now but thise front studs bro, just are ruining it. Gotta say though much prefer the original studs how they have that cutout so you can tighten them or remove them easily. Really like how they did that from the factory. If only you could have found some like those but shorter to fit your 996 it would of been awesome
