I've always had really oily skin and hair, but I've found the MORE I use natural oils and creams like Heidi makes, the LESS oily my skin is. Example : if I forget to use cream on my face before bed, it'll be greasy in the morning. When I remember, my face will simply be soft. It might seem like fighting fire with fire, using more oil to reduce oil, but it works for me. And I now only need to wash my hair 2 to 3 times a week instead of every day.
And to clarify, I only wash my hair with Dr Jacob's then homemade vinegar rinse. I love the rosemary, rose and calendula. ❤
Yesterday I cut back a huge sage brush. I started a gallon of vinegar with it.
If I didn't have a ton of vinegars... must keep in mind though!
Thank you. My garden has an abundance of both Naturtium and Rosemary. I’ll be making some vinegar today’
Good morning and God Bless. I've tried it and it does make a difference. My hair is much shinier and softer believe it or not. It amazed me .
Did you use store bought or homemade? Thank you in advance. Cindy E.
@@jonebner7811 I've used both. Good luck
I’ve been making hair vinegars for a few years since I saw one of your videos. It’s so fun to make and my hair texture is wavier and healthier than ever. I love adding in some beets to turn it pink.
Wow Heidi. You are the queen of the vinager 😊 Thank you for sharing your experience. God bless you ❤😊❤
Just the minute I needed this info. !!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you, Heidi. You are a delightful wonder. Rebecca
You're so encouraging and I appreciate that very much! 🙂 thank you!
I learned from my Grandma way back in the 1950's, that vinegar was the best rinse for hair. Rose petal is my favorite, closely followed by nasturtium after I watched you make it.
I have a little extra time to myself over the next few weeks. I’ll take the time to watch your vinegar videos and give it a go. When I lived in Texas I was using the baking soda to wash and acv to rinse. I didn’t keep that up back here in Aus.
Good morning Heidi! Thank you for the explanation on the vinegars and using it for cleansing hair. Very helpful! Blessings Kiddo!🌻🐛🌿💚🙏💕
Just started a garlic scape vinegar yesterday! I had left over from making pesto!
I rinse my hair every 2 weeks with apple cider vinegar. It seems to get rid of any soap/conditioner that is on my hair. Leaves it very soft. And it's economical especially if you make your own.
Thanks! Have a blessed day!!
Excellent! Thank you, Heidi!
Thank you! Love your videos! Keep up the good work!
🙏♥️🕊🤲✨😇
fabulous Thx H Angel
❤ perfect explanation and welcome explanation.
Thanks Heidi, I’m going to try.
Dear Ms. Heidi, My latest favorite "vinegar hair wash/rinse" is Mexican Mint Marigold or some may know it by Texas Tarragon. Years ago when I started following your lead making my own vinegars and using them for food purposes as well as cleaning and hair care, my hair has never looked or felt so good. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you for another informative video.
I have always had a dry scalp with dandruff. I'm going to try this. Thank you ❤
Appreciate this info!
It works great as a hair rinse! I mostly use pear scrap vinegar and nectarine-lemon vinegar as i always have an abundance of scrap from these. Hair smells clean and not vinegary at all.
Your hair is beautiful....I must try this!
Great video!❤❤❤
Great video
Thanks Heidi 😊 ❤❤
Thanks Heidi! 🙂
Blessings! 💜
Hello Heidi! I have been using a homemade vinegar rinse on my hair for a couple of months now. I've even decided to see if I can grown my hair long. I never used to like it long since the ends would split so badly and break. Hoping the rosemary vinegar will help. Thanks for the encouragement!!!
Timely information. Thank you. Been using too much baking soda which is making my hair look like straw!
Hi Heidi! Thank you for this video! I planned my flower/herb garden with your suggestions for vinegar in mind. Some things I already grow, but some things like calendula, nasturtium, and marshmallow I didn't have. I added a lot of herbs and flowers this year. But even though my marshmallow seedlings did super, they didn't get put in the garden! I'm sick about that. There were a few other plants that didn't get put out besides. The weather messed with me. But I still have seeds, and I will try again next year. In the meantime, I have been dehydrating pansies, calendula, plantain and comfrey as they come in, that way, I will have them all when I get ready to make the vinegar. This will really be helpful for me, I feel. My husband and I both have dry scalps, so maybe I'll even get him to try it! And they will also be used in tinctures and oils for salves, they're so versatile!
Good morning, thanks for this in depth explanation of how you use it. I tried it last month washing with Dr. Jacobs body wash and then ACV as the rinse. My super dry and baby fine whispy wavy curly hair blew up like a cloud of cotton balls on my head. But I used both full strength so I will try again with diluting. I hope it works! 🤞
Thank you
Thank you!!
Love sage lavender and rosemary. This is my favorite. God Bless!
I have got to try this combination of herbs, I'm sure it smells fabulous! Ty
Thank you!
Great info! 😊🌱💚🌻🐝
Great information!
I made my best ACV this year because I followed your suggestions. It is wonderful and developed a beautiful scobie. I can't wait to make a vinegar rinse for my hair, Thank you Heidi!!
I'm curious, can I mix rosemary water with the ACV to make a rinse?? Ty
I don't see why not, just mix it together before use.@user-gk2ut8mc5e
My hair is board straight- will not hold a curl at all! It tends to run oily, especially if I’m outside and get really sweaty. I’m guessing vinegar would help cut the oil, so I’m going to see what herbs I have on hand and try this. I will let you know what I used and how it worked for me. Shalom!
It can help cut the oil but those with more oily hair may find doing a baking soda wash and then following up with the vinegar may work better. I cannot remember the amount of baking soda, maybe up to a Tablespoon? I would not think more than that but would also assume it would depend on the person. You simply mix it with 8 ounces of water and use the same way I do with the vinegar
@@RainCountryHomestead thank you!
Same here. Not even getting it professionally done for a (dumpster fire) wedding I stood up in got it to hold a curl. I used to envy those with curls but it's way too much maintenance for me personally and I've learned to love my straight hair. It's soft and shiny, but greasy as heck. After "targeted therapy" it's also not as thick as it used to be. I've also noticed for years in certain spots of my hairline it's not what it used to be either. I'm hoping protective hairstyles and a different hair care routine will help with all of this.
PS- I have tried various "no-poo" methods (many of which are just "don't wash every day and use dry shampoo or cornstarch in between washes") but none of them have worked. I've tried giving it time to adjust but it only made it unbearably worse. I'm praying this time around is different.
PPS- I also have mixed hair (both fine and coarse) as well as low porosity hair. So that's fun too.
@@katie7748 mine is also soft, baby fine, and a lot thicker than it looks. I’m almost 67 so it is what it is.☺️ I don’t mind that it’s straight anymore, but I used to really want curly hair.
Thank you for the info. I have dry, brittle hair. I've about given up
I use water kefir as a vinegar and ferment starter. So I can have vinegar in a few days. I do also make regular vinegar of different types. One of my favorite vinegars I make is with random herb stems.
I find it difficult to believe you can get a full strength vinegar in only a few days when it is a process of turning the sugars to alcohol and the alcohol to acetic acid. My guess is you simply have a fizzy, bubbly mixture that may still work well but is not actually vinegar.
What adorable crocheted coaster, did you make them? If so, do you have a pattern? Or a close up look to see the repetitions. Thank you for the information on vinegar for hair, I’ve been trying to find an alternative to what I currently do. I just started some homemade vinegar, so I appreciate the instructions.
Yep, I have a video tutorial on how to make them: ruclips.net/video/zCbaUddNm3I/видео.html
Hi Heidi, I wash my hair with goats milk soap and rinse it with my homemade vinegar. I have an old shampoo bottle that I put goats milk soap into when the soap gets small and then add water. I put my vinegar into a cup and add water to it like you do. I really like the fruit flavored vinegars for my hair. God bless and hugs
Hi Heidi, I have learned so much from your videos. I wondered what your thoughts were on kombucha as a hair rinse. Sometimes my kombucha goes too long before i change it or if the finished product doesnt get used up quick enough then its too vinegery to drink. Or is it not similar??
Kombucha that has fermented for about 30 days is little more than black tea vinegar so yes, you can use it
You have lovely hair, Heidi. May I ask, how many times a week do you wash your hair? I have a batch of Bay leaf vinegar that didn't turn out as nice so I will be using that on my hair. I've been having alot of hair fall so I'm hoping vinegar will help.
Thank you, this was so helpful!
Question, Heidi, Could I make vinegar out of Cranberry Hibiscus leaves?... I'm in Florida.
If they are edible, then yes. Please see this video: ruclips.net/video/yyYanU-wrAk/видео.html
How did you transition to only vinegar wash and rinse? Does it take time for your hair and scalp to adapt or is it ok to switch everything all at once?
❤ Blessings
Distilled vinegar is derived from GMO corn. Organic Apple Cider vinegar is not.
Aside from vinegar, can you recommend anything that I can use asap? I have already mixed up some oils with the chili peppervseeds and rosemary but I do have to wait at least 2 months for it to be ready. I take chemotherapy and my hair is suffering alot . TIA. :)
You can try massaging in plain castor oil for now and if you have not seen this video yet, please check it out: ruclips.net/video/v6sOzof699Q/видео.html
What kind/brand of cane sugar do you use for vinegar making? Are all cane sugars alike? Is Stevie cane sugar good to use?
Organic cane sugar, I usually get it from Costco. If you mean stevia, that is not a cane sugar and will not work. Please see my vinegar making video that I linked to in the description to learn more
❤
I did a homemade shampoo with Dr Brunner’s, jojoba oil, water and essential oils. I did just acv, water and essential oils for the conditioner. Do you think I should stop that and just use the vinegar?
You have to do what is best for you and your hair. For me, homemade vinegar from my own homegrown herbs is the healthiest and most economical. Even with as dry as my hair is, I do not need to add oils of any kind
I use tea tree oil - any benefit of adding a little apple cider vinegar to that -
I guess it depends on how you are using it. Are you using it neat? Mixed with water? I could see adding a few drops of the tea tree in with the vinegar and use the same way I do for the wash/rinse
I've got a ton of lemon balm growing. Would that be good as a hair vinegar? What about putting it in my chicken's water?
I am sure it will be good for both
What would be a good vinegar to make for using in my laundry. Right now I’m using white vinegar.
Any vinegar you want. I typically use the ones that may end up not having the best flavor for anything cleaning related: ruclips.net/video/kPZqKSvn80U/видео.html
Is it possible to make vinegar from onions. Or would it just be fermented onions?
You can make vinegar from any produce or herbs, please go see the video I linked to in the description on how to make vinegar from anything
Heidi, this is probably a silly question but I want to ask anyway. I'm not as advanced as you but I do believe in natural everything if possible. I've never made my own vinegar but someday soon I'll try. For now, can I add my pesticide free dandelions to a good quality, store bought vinegar and then use it? Does it have to ferment together from the start or would that work? 😊
You can do that and simply allow it to infuse for a few weeks
@@RainCountryHomestead ok, great. Thank you for letting me know. 👍😁
Hi Heidi. After using the vinegar, will it help with tangles or make it easier to comb out the hair? The reason I only use store bought conditioner is because it makes it easier to comb out my long hair.
What I can say is that it helps with mine, I used to use conditioner for the same reason but now never need to
@RainCountryHomestead Thanks, I'll have to give it a try to see how it does for me.
Fine naturally blonde hair... absorbs everything... thinning... any recommendations?
If you mean recommendations for a vinegar to make or use, consider any that do not have a strong color when finished like apple, pear, pineapple, banana peel, rosemary, sage
I used apple cider vinegar to rinse my hair but I get perms and it straightened my hair. 😂
I have tried a few times to make vinegar, just doesn't work out. Am going to try again.
Every now and then I get a batch that doesn't turn out right, so keep tryin!
If you are using city tap water, it will need to be dechlorinated by boiling for 10 minutes and allowing to cool to room temperature. It is also important to only use organic produce or herbs, fresh or dried, and a real sugar such as organic cane or honey, not stevia or other such
Heidi not a question for vingear but on period pads an the material used for the absorbant layer. I can not figure out how to look it up when I go to your page. Instructions please

Heidi, does your vinegar hair wash ever irritate your skin or eyes as it trickles down your face? That’s my main concern.
It can of course but it is not that hard to keep it from running into the eyes so this is a pretty rare occurrence for me but even when it does, it is not bad
Since it's not straight vinegar it is not bad. Though I use my KB vinegar often straight and it does not bother me if it runs in my eyes.
@@RainCountryHomesteadthanks for your response.

My sister told me her hair was so dry it was almost brittle, I told her to rinse with vinegar. But I'm kicking myself, I started a batch of lime vinegar thinking it would make the house smell wonderful when I cleaned - just after I started it the weather cooled, I got busy working outside on the heavy projects, and forgot all about the vinegar. Four days later I remembered - I don't use weights, and I hadn't stirred it - so yup, it was covered in mold. 😞 Into the compost bin it went, sigh.
When that happens I simply allow the vinegar to finish, lift out the moldy parts and then strain. The vinegar will kill any mold that may have ended up in it
@@RainCountryHomestead Really?! Even the greenish blue mold? I never knew that!
What herbs are good for hair loss?
ruclips.net/video/v6sOzof699Q/видео.html
What about peppermint or oregano?
Whatever you want to use
How often do you wash your hair?
Typically three times a week
@@RainCountryHomestead Oh okay, thank you for replying ! Is that only with the vinegar? How often do you use the homemade soap?
@@allyssabarker322 I only use soap once every other week
@@RainCountryHomestead So sorry for all of the questions which soap do you prefer? The bar soap or the small amount of castille mixture?
your dish soap bottle is about ready to go.
And I will keep using it until it no longer works.
