- Season of Discovery's Phase 4 PTR is amazing, and just changed the game.
SoD is 100% back, with so many new amazing things. New Legendaries, like the Axe of Broxigar and Ashbringer, changed legendaries like Sulfuras and Thunderfury. New Heroic Raids for Molten Core, with 3 Difficulty Levels. Dynamic Raid Size, a whole new PvP Event, with the Blackrock Eruption. And so many more things! All broken down fast and concisely in the Classic WoW Weekly.

I recommend changing the sound of the hammer of righteous to that of a wet noodle, as the damage it deals no longer deserves such an epic sound. We have shamans throwing fire bolts from 40 yards that hit for 2500 damage, but a melee paladin hitting for only 400 damage with Hammer of the Righteous is a problem?
Just tried the elemental sham on PTR last night, and it is going to DUMPSTER people in PvP!! As if it was already bad enough 💀. Cooldown on chain lightning is gone as well with the cloak rune, so if people don't spread in PvP (they don't), it's going to be a massacre lmao

We're in the end game now.
None of this looks exciting at all. Legendary weapons with the same exact stats but now feral druids want them too. Runes are bland and nothing that changes the way you play just passive and spec specific redone abilities nothing new nothing exciting.
They got blowback last phase for not announcing the phase release at least 2 weeks prior. So it is highly unlikely they will release phase 4 June 27 (in two weeks). July 11 seems still the most likely. Of course I hope I'm wrong
RIP SoD. It was a fun beta test with some great experiments from the devs. I look forward to a real Classic + in a couple years but Cata is just too good right now.

Timing is very questionable. The problem is retail War Within PrePatch is gonna hit late July ish. And i think most players are gonna dip for that and the gearing up of all their Alts for the xpac. Sure sure i get it....here comes the classic andies getting mad. Sorry but your wrong. The classic folks mostly played cata. So if the PTR just hit, what are we realistically thinking? 2 weeks at least? So that prolly means and early July go live time frame AT BEST. Now people have to get max lvl and do their dungeons and raids in 3 weeks ish. Sure the super hardcore will get it done and say peace out for retail. However i think many people are gonna need more time and given the choice I see them just playing prepatch war within.
Its really frustrating as ive got so many toons at 50 i was excited to get 60 and raid. But honestly I just wont have the cycles. It feels like Stage 4 should have came out early June, delay Cata classic to Xmas and go from there. I hope im wrong but i dont see stage 4 going where it could have.
I dont think sod is competing with retail. If youre worried about playerbase, I think its likely that they will continue merging servers when they see player count after phase 4 release. I have several level 50s as well but I will be trimming it down to 2 this phase. That will make 2 in sod and 2 in cata for me
Nobody cares for retail. Specially people playing sod. Dragon non-binary flight kind of proved that after the other previous dogshit expacs. No matter the 'hype' which to me isn't even there, even if people try they will switch back immediately

They already said they aren’t releasing new content in ptr, so we don’t know what new content they might add

The druid Balance set bonus is crap..3% hitR and that's it.. no crit or Spelldmg with that . . just 3% nothing more for wearing 4 set pieces. .
