Hey guys! Looks like some people are misunderstanding my comments about Jimin not finding his sound. My comments are ONLY about the production. Jimin is an incredible vocalist, and has a very unique to him sound and style of singing. As a music producer, my goal is to make sure the artist is recognizable in every way. Music is like an extension of yourself, so if I’m genre hopping and trying tons of different things while producing for an artist (unless specifically asked to do so) I’m doing them a disservice. If that’s what Jimins going for, then I understand. My comments were not to undermine Jimins talents and accomplishments (of which he has many) this is just my opinion on the producers of the music itself.
Is the music producer in the room with us right now? 💀 most music producer reactors delve deep into the actual production of the songs they are reacting to and try to replicate or explain the different sounds to offer something insightful to their audience. Also, many of your ‘comments’ were non-factual statements made about Jimin and his group and you still failed to acknowledge your mistake in this pinned response. As many people have already said, do some research before you speak definitively on topics you know nothing of.

@@becauseisaac Don’t compare him to JK - JM is a leader, who has forged his OWN solo path because he knows who he is; the other one has been led and given a lot of privilege by BSH and that other hateful man, Scooter; they’ve given him vapid, generic music and created an album that has no cohesiveness or real meaning. If there’s one thing I (we) can’t stand it’s making comparisons amongst the members - and incorrect ones I’ll add. As a music producer, comment on the music production, not on the boys talents/ skills and musical style. Music producer or not, don’t make assumptions about artists you know nothing about; you haven’t even begun diving down into the BTS rabbit hole, much less scratched the surface of who these boys are as individuals.
Jimin's releasing his 2nd solo album called Muse on July 19th along with the title track called "Who". He already released another song from the album called Smeraldo Garden Marching Band featuring Korean rapper Loco. And just letting you know there is a dance to Like Crazy. You can watch a performance or the dance practice to see the choreography. Yes Jimin released his first solo album last year but he's had solo songs before on BTS albums like Lie, Serendipity, and Filter. And all 3 of those songs are very different from each other and even different from his album releases too. I would recommend listening to those songs too.
I think Jimin knows exactly what he’s doing with his solo career. His album Face is very cohesive and it’s amazing, one of my favorites along with Hobi’s last album, Indigo and Layover by V. Jin went to the military first and now that he finished his duty with the country, he’s gonna start his solo career. I’m excited to hear his incredible vocals on new songs! 💜
I don’t think jimin is trying to find his sound. BTS is known for changing their sound and trying new things. All the members do that. Just listen to RM’s last album. It’s totally different from his other work. And JK also has said in interviews that he wants to try everything. So I think it’s intentional. Jimin’s last released song is again way different. 💜💜💜

anyone who knows BTS knows that they do not have a particular sound. They are always evolving and experimenting with new sound. That's why they're at a level of their own; they are not boxed in.
jimin has two albums. One coming next week. He’s a diverse vocalist, he’s not retrained to one sound or genre which is why people love him. You never know what to expect with him, he’s a mystery box. But he kills it each time.
I know you are just learning about our amazing members but I respectfully disagree with you. I don’t think Jimin is trying to find his sound, he is very versatile. He is not only a supporting voice in BTS, he carries several songs and has solos like Filter, lie or Serendipity that are masterpieces. In my opinion Jimin”s career is doing very well, he got #1 Billboard with Like Crazy., the title track of his first album and he achieved the Spotify billion club certification as a solo artist, he also participated on the FastX soundtrack Angel pt1 and pt2💜
This is off his face album It is about his mental journey during the pandemic. So understanding and perhaps connecting to the lyrics is what's most important for this song.

jimin wrote and co-produced his music. he has credits all over his solo work since the inception of chapter 2 which signifies his persona independent of BTS. He has never had a supporting role and has already established himself in this industry. He was and will always be a unique artist that has made his own way.
You can never really know Jimin is going to drop next. He is extremely versatile and isn't afraid to try something different. The only thing you can expect is to expect the unexpected.
You talked about how Jimin needs to release an album, but two of the songs that you reacted to are singles from his debut solo album. It may only have six tracks, but he was already working on his second album too, since he isn't allowed to do any music while he's in the military. The 2nd album, Muse, is being released soon and the first single is already out. The BTS boys don't try to lock themselves in to a particular style, like you're wanting. Instead, they focus on the meaning and message of their songs and on the colors of their own voices. Several of them like to do themed albums, so there can be a particular sound for a whole album, but that doesn't mean that it's that particular member's sound. Look at how different J-Hope's two albums are from each other. And if Jimin's single from his Muse album, Smeraldo Garden Marching Band, is any indication. Muse is going to be quite different from Face. BTS members like to challenge themselves and change and grow as artists. Please stop trying to lock Jimin, or any of the other members, into the box of a specific sound. If you keep that up, you're probably going to end up disappointed.
I think Jimin is evolving as he should. He is surprising even himself! He has reached a Billion Streams, I can't even visualize that number. His voice is awesome but the human being he is, just incredible!!!😊
Dude. Jimin is not looking for his sound. Its so disrespectful to describe him as "gonna take off" and a "support vocalist." He was the first Solo Korean to get a BB#1. He made history with Like Crazy and continues to break records DAILY. JIMIN has an entire Production Video over an hour in length, detailing his creative process and showing how hard he worked on this album. You have NO business talking authoritatively about JIMIN.
These aren’t singles. The first 2 songs are from “Face”, his first album. The 3rd song will be on “Muse”, which will be released mid-July. Jimin wrote all the lyrics. The music was produced by BTS producers that he’s been working with for years. All the songs for Jungkook’s album were written by Western songwriters and produced by LA based producers. There is nothing wrong with Jungkook’s approach to his album. Jimin’s “Face” album was a very personal story of challenges he faced during the pandemic. He is going to need to work with other producers in order to grow, but I think he’s on the right track and will figure it out.
What? Jimins choice of working with pdogg ghstloop and Evan on FACE was the perfect choice. He told us it was his personal diary & who better to produce than people that know him personally. MUSE on the other hand has a lot of big producers. Not really sure what you’re saying??
@@sandranational1193 oh, don’t get me wrong. “Face” is one of my favorite albums of the year. What he and the producers did was amazing. I just think finding who you are artistically usually means you need to at least try going outside your comfort zone. And Pdogg is definitely Jimin’s comfort zone. He may never work with a different team, and the intimacy and trust he has with them might allow him to try things he wouldn’t. Whatever works for him, but I am looking forward to whatever he does.
He does have an album tho, and the second one is coming out this month. You should do a bit more reasearch before reacting, and if you look at the previous stuff he's put out Jimin does have a sound, he's always been rnb/pop. But having a sound when it comes to BTS members, they don't really box themselves with one sound. Jimin specifically here, has mentioned multiple times that he's interested in trying out as many genres and sounds as he can, which is something he has always done, you can see that in his previous songs like Lie, Filter, Serendipity, friends. He's probably one of the most versatile and experimental members. And you really need to react to Face, the EP and you'll see just how cohesive, versatile and authentic to himself his music is.
This is not to say that this is typical Jimin. There is no such thing. It's always different. And in vocals, and in dance, and in performance. Always reveals a new side.

He’s not a ‘supporter’ - he plays a significant role in the group as lead singer and main dancer and he’s the reason BTS is as unique as it is; watch RM talk about him: “BTS would have been a disaster without Jimin”. Jimin DID make an album - it’s called FACE! He’s now onto #2 MUSE. Don’t compare him to JK. JK was GIVEN an album to sing with a bunch of western artists to collab. He did not write a word in that album and it is not cohesive - no one song has anything to do with the other. It’s a pop album of someone else’s creation. Jimin’s album DOES have a story, because his album is very personal. He co-wrote, co-composed and co-produced his album. Of the 3 of them (the 3 youngest), he is the ONLY one who has written his own music in solo era. If anyone still needs to find their ‘style’, it’s JK, not Jimin- he knows exactly who he is musically. As for the ‘80s trend’, on the contrary…the world needs more 80s music. Being as young as you are I wouldn’t expect you to understand just how important the 80s era was - the best, most creative, most musically experimental time in music history. God knows currently the way music is moving, it’s predictable, dirty, hyper/over-sexualized and the bar has been set real low in terms of real talent! Jimin IS an original artist; he doesn’t want to be like everyone else to fit in and become famous; he just loves to make music. Like Crazy is a fantastic blend of 80s synth, modern and Jimin. There’s a reason it was #1BB. I love SMFP2 - and yes, it’s Jimin rapping- but I don’t know how many times people have said it reminds them of Kanye or Kendrick Lamar…so while it’s amazing performance art, I wouldn’t go as far as saying it’s any more original than Like Crazy. Jimin is not ‘looking for his sound’, he loves to experience new and different styles; he’s versatile and cannot be pigeonholed into one box. He doesn’t need to ‘find himself’; he’s simply creating different kinds of music. If you actually listened to his whole album, FACE, and his current pre-release ‘Smeraldo Garden Marching Band’, you would understand that. Many of us are sick and tired of Jimin being downgraded as though he’s ‘less than’ the other members. The fact is, he’s an extremely important member, one who is in large part responsible for the group being the most unique Idol group and greatest group act of all time. Like rm, jimin’s albums tell a story. Each song a different chapter. “Face” is an album depicting a dark time in jimins life. Each song is in the order of his journey. With “face off” talking about betrayal. “Alone” severe depression. “Like crazy” numbing his pain through alcohol use. Then “ set me free” fighting his demons in his head to finally b ok. Trust me it is very well thought out. He didn’t want to be angelic jimin on the album because that’s not what it was about. So the album has so many unique things like rapping, distorted sounds, unusual mixing, and incredible lyrics. As for his new album. No one really knows. It’s about inspiration. Wanted things to be happy and light. Showing his fans that he’s ok now and happy. His first song came out recently and was a shout out to nostalgia. The 60’s. Beatles Sgt pepper kill nd of bright, colorful, and fun Jimin. Easy dance to learn, live vocals, and ft. A rapper. It’s just a happy song. Muse comes out on the 19th. With the huge success of face , I can’t wait to hear the story he has to tell this time. Trust me jimin knows what he’s doing.

Jimin is an incredible artist and performer. All members of BTS are incredible and talented people, but Jimin has that IT factor that draws people's attention to him. His solo album/EP FACE is my favorite album of all time, the emotions and rawness that it carries, his vulnerability and strength at the same time mixed in those songs? Blows my mind. Closer than this is also a song for us, ARMY, to make sure we always know that he is there for us whenever we feel down. He is just a boy in Korea who loves us for who we are.
Set Me Free II song - if you listen to the lyrics, he's singing with auto tune in the verses talking about his hard times and giving an fu to the critics who accuse him of auto tune and singing without it in the chorus. 😊
This is very much a Western way to think. I've heard this from very famous producers and singers who have watched BTS and from my knowledge I recognize it: Thinking people are "trying to find their sound" because they are doing things you either don't like or you don't understand. That is something I've heard about a multitude of artists if they move out of the genre they are known for. Because staying in your lane leads to profits but challenging your art doesn't necessarily. Jimin has talked about these songs and what they mean to him and why he chose to produce them this way. He very much knows his range and capabilities. One of the tenets the head of his company (who they are close to) emphasizes is for them to explore what they want with their music. BTS albums have similarities but aren't the same and that goes for the artists as well. If you EVER even LOOKED into RM, his music from his first mixtape to the second mixtape to the first album and to this last album is completely different. They don't like to pigeon hole themselves. That's you not understanding how they make their music. So if you don't like something okay but it is NEVER okay to say someone is trying to find themselves if you haven't looked into the person. For an example what if you had a project and you were proud of it but some random person wrote blogs about it saying "meh, I don't think he found his style yet." Do you think that is a kind thing to say? Especially if they haven't heard the full project or even really understands you and your purpose for the project? I mean in the end, you'll probably say "he doesn't know or care" and you'd be right. You are nobody to him but you're trying to get a foot in this yt react space telling people who listen to him that "he doesn't know his sound." You could have said "you didn't understand the connection of the two songs" and left it at that instead of questioning his sincerity or professionalism.

He lived with his producer while they created this ENTIRE ALBUM. What you should definitely check out is his live performances, that were done under BTS albums. His live performance of - Lie, Serendipity and Filter are incredible and the talent he shows on stage while performing those songs is breath taking.
Jimin is not a support (sub) vocalist. He is lead vocal (JK is main) and main dancer. These songs are from Jimin’s first album (an EP) that he released last year, “Face”. Each songs is technically a different genre to suit the message each relays. The album is about his struggles and depression during COVID. The 2 songs you reacted to (Like Crazy and Set me Green or 2)are the only ones with MVs. The other songs are: “Face off”, “Dive” (an interlude), “Alone” and the hidden track”Letter” (live performances is on YT called “Dear Army”. I would also recommend the liver performance of Like Crazy on Jimmy Fallon (it’s the English version of the song). As well as his Like Crazy acoustic live performance on Lee Mujin (also on YT). Closer than this is a fan song he released in December as a gift before he enlisted. It is part of his new album coming out this month, 19th called “Muse”. His pre-release, Smeraldo Garden Marching Band, came out just over a week ago (a Beatles tribute, Stg Pepper). Edit. Only the rap line has previous solo work. The others all just started in the last 18 months, prior to their military enlistment.
Jimin has an awesome vocal range... a lot of his 'falsetto' is actually his chest/head voice... also his album (Face) is basically a run through of how he was dealing with the pandemic... some of it not so well... he addresses it in his episode of Yoongi (Suga) show Suchwita... so it was a lot of clubbing/drinking ... Set Me free pt 2... the choreography was partly by Sienna LaLau who did the BTS track On Kinetic Manifesto... Jimin likes to have a big hand in writing his own work... JK chose tracks written by other people for his album... which was his choice... and has done very well for him ... as the others have for each of the 7... we now await Jin's album as he only had time to release a single before he went into the military... he is currently postponing it as Jimin's second album (Muse) will release on July 19th... and the members are always supportive of each other, whether it be for group projects or solo works...
Jimin, I love this boy so much. I love his uniqueness and difference in every song, the unique tone of his voice, his amazing and smooth dancing, and the flexibility of his dancing, especially because he actually dances all types of dance. I love all the songs
Face album is a really cohesive amazing album. He's now bringing out a totally different kind of album to face, muse, his 2nd album, coming out the 19th. I think he's on a very good way. If Face was darkness, muse will be light. If face was sadness, muse will be happiness. Sth like that.
Completely disagree. It might be Jimin's first album, but he's not new to releasing songs of his own. The most surprising song from Jimin was Set me free pt.2, but we've seen glimpses of this Jimin from Tony Montana and other BTS songs. He's not just a high voice. That man can grooowl. It's just that all of BTS members are incredibly versatile and love experimenting and love music in general. So if you're expecting to listen to a few songs and say "oh okay, now I get who (insert member's name) is", I'm afraid you will never truly get there. Each of them are an endless walking rabbit-hole to fall into.

You seem to have preconceived ideas of what you expect of Jimin and BTS . They change it up all the time and experiment with their music. That doesn’t mean they are searching for their sound they are just not limiting themselves to one genre.
Great reaction. Jimin´s live version of FILTER is so good...also the songs ALONE and LETTER (Dear Army) from his recent album Face. He is a major talent and potential in the industry, IMHO.
I love Jimin's album Face, particularly the song Face Off. He has a few songs from over the years. His song Promise is the most streamed Soundcloud song of all time. I can't wait to hear what he has done with hus new album Muse to be released on 19th July. His song Friends which he sings with V is adorable. It is filled with things from their friendship. Recommend hearing songs in order since they all tell of the various feelings & emotions, all what Jimin was going through during the pandemic, which he wanted to share in hope that others could relate & know that they’re not alone in these kind of feelings! The song, Jimin’s vocals, his dancing, the amazing choreography, which aside from the two main choreographers, he had a hand in, offering suggestions, also the amazing backup dancers, the lyrics he wrote, the music he composed as well as being involved in the production, even the set design of the MV. Jimin was hands on, involved with every facet! No wonder the in-house legendary producer for BigHit Pdogg, who worked with Jimin throughout the whole album, stated that “in 2023 K-pop will be ended by Park Jimin”! Seeing this made me that much more excited, for the full album, Jimin’s “FACE” released last yr on March 24, along with his main song ‘Like Crazy’ MV. Jimin’s other songs “Face-Off”, “Alone”, as well as hidden track “Letter” are all equally amazing! Though Jimin’s song ‘Set Me Free Pt.2’, blew me away , meeting all my expectations & then some, I was also not totally surprised, because indeed Jimin is now ‘set free’ from the confines of being part of a group, to now be able to open up full throttle and ‘finally’ be able to release all that he held back for so many yrs! His solo debut Face was an emotionally draining, cathartic, exploratory album. Part of his exploration, like with Face, was him living with P Dogg and a small group to write, compose, record & produce that album. His sophomore effort Muse will be focused on love, and a lighter freer Jimin. He doesn’t do much with a lot of other people writing music & many different producers working for him, like JK did w/ Golden. He may post military, but for now he is focused on making the music he wants with people he cares about vs. commercial success. ‘Closer Than This’ is from Muse (b4 we knew there was a 2nd album). It was for Army as a comfort, released just b4 he enlisted. The most recent track ‘Smeraldo Garden Marching Band’, released last week, is again a totally different vibe. Has Easter eggs for Army and his signature deceptively simple lyrics w/ a double meaning (iykyk). It’s happy, bright, cheerful… represents the lighter, more joyful Jimin after the catharsis of Face. Still exploring his sound with even less boundaries placed on himself. The MV is an absolute delight.

Jimin doesn’t have "a sound", he is way too versatile for that. Like BTS, he likes to experiment but his voice is his signature. The 1st two songs are from his album FACE. Even though all the songs on it are musically different, they do follow a theme, or better put, they are telling a story. You will understand how cohesive they are by listening to them from start to finish with translated lyrics. Jimin is coming out with his 2nd album MUSE on 19 July. It will be completely different from Face. Jimin has been involved in writing and producing all the songs on both albums, even playing some of the instruments. Jimin already has an album out called "Face". He released it sometime before entering his military service. He has just come out with a new song that will be on his second album "Muse.". The song is called "Smeraldo Garden Marching Band". Every member has at least an album out already except Jin. But Jin is out of the military already so that might be on his to do list.
Regarding Jimin’s “sound.” None of the BTS members really stick to one genre. His Face album is one continuous narrative, so Like Crazy and Set Me Free pt2 make sense when you are listening to all the songs in order. His second solo album Muse releases on the 19th.
I don't know what your actual producing credits are but Jimin's Face ALBUM is excellent! He is a storyteller and the entire theme of face was focused on his personal journey through the pandemic. His new ALBUM will focus on the theme of love and he's reflecting on self love (blooming) and romantic love (serenade)... Jimin and his team are pretty rock solid and I much prefer his style of music & cohesive production over a cobbled together album of basic, random 'cool' songs.

It not only shows Jimin’s full range, not just high notes, but also deeper, raspier voice! All his own voice! No autotune. Even ppl who do know autotune & difference, are used to hearing so many vocalist, including even more famous singers using this to enhance their vocal sound, that it takes awhile for a few to discern that that indeed Jimin’s voice is real,😅🥰 even in studio recording, not even enhanced! Matter of fact, it’s Jimin’s very vocals, being used as background vocals, to support, enhance or make I general the sound of BTS that much fuller! So often it goes unnoticed because he’s able to blend in so well. Though BTS as well as all members have used autotune but just to emphasize feeling or emotion in certain part of song. Jimin’s voice so very special, unique & so very distinguishable the quality of his voice, using his full range of the highest of high notes as well as lower registry, with deeper more raspier at times more growly voice, that Jimin with no need for autotune whatsoever, though Jimin did choose to use it, just to make a point of distorting his voice and or changing it up a bit to emphasizes the sentiment, the emotion, and or meaning of the song. You were confused because you don't follow the work. Jimin wasn't looking for your sound, he knew exactly what he was doing. His album, as he himself said, is to be heard in sequence, as he is telling the story. Set me free part 2 ends the album, but there is the English version of Like Crazy after set me free, with a song called Letter inside it. This is a very significant album. Ps* Jimin in set me free part 2 has a German poem tattooed all over his chest.

Jimin's album "FACE" is a concept album from top to bottom. He's describing his personal journey through the pandemic so it's best to listen to all the tracks in order. Both "Like Crazy" and "Set me Free part 2" are from "FACE". "Closer Than This" is a fan song he recorded for ARMY before joining the military. It's all Jimin; he has a lower register that he can sing in as well (he usually sings counter-tenor). You hear it a lot more in their older music.
I know nothing about the Weekend, but to me the synth wave style in this song perfectly fits the slightly ‘out of it’ escapist theme of the song. And, as someone young in the 80s I really love it! I think you underestimate how intentional the music choices for each song are. BTS as a group and individually create albums that are very cohesive, based on the theme and the story, utilising the sound for each track that it requires in that story.

😍🐥That was producer Pdogg’s house shown, at the beginning of “Closer Than This’” MV, where Jimin also wrote most of the lyrics, composed melodies, & helped produce all his songs, worked alongside Pdogg, (legendary in-house BigHit genius producer, along with a couple of other producers, GHSTLOOP & Evan for his whole FACE album! Ft equally must hear songs ❣“Face Off”, absolute fire❣Alone”, so deep, beautiful & emotional. Which comes right after ❣“Like Crazy” which has a full English version I almost prefer, as well, also a ‘hidden’ song ❣”Letter” (hidden track only in physical album specifically for army), (which Jimin wrote as a thank you to army, & ❣“Set Me Free Pt.2”. The whole album, as Jimin has mentioned, is what he was trying to convey, pouring his heart out, his very essence, to show what he was going through, during pandemic, his emotions, thoughts, loneliness, despair, depression, that he hoped to share & have many able to relate to! Part of the ENTIRE point of Chapter 2 for the members of BTS is to experiment, mature musically and personally, *continue* to explore other genres, in order to bring back even better versions of themselves for the group. So what you call trying to find his voice is actually Jimin doing what each member was meant to do in Chapter 2. Any idea that Jimin isn't already established as a solo artist does sort of expose you as not really doing the research you should be doing before making a judgment. Someone else slammed JK (ummecessarily) for taking songs from Western artists, and compared the two. It's not a competition, in spite of what some "solo stans" seem to think. The BTS members don't see it that way, and they wouldn't appreciate others doing it. The thing about BTS is that each member has had tremendous success as solo artists...but when you bring them together, the sum of the whole is even greater than the parts...and the parts are terrific. As a group, BTS just doesn't espouse this idea of needing to pick a lane and stay in it, so why would any individual member think that about their solo endeavors?
Face was an introspective album, mostly about pandemic time. Jimin had a really hard time. For Like Crazy, if you watch him in the video, you will see he is trying to have fun a little to hard. The song Face-Off he sings mostly in his lower range, other than Letter, is my favorite song on Face. Each song is different. I remember being surprised by Set Me Free Pt 2, very dark and gritty, when it came out and it was the pre-release. On his chest is a German poem. Alone is heart breaking. Jimin was very involved with the songs on the EP, He co-wrote most of them and literally lived with PDogg for several months working on the album(s). Muse is going to be lighter, more about what inspires him. I can't help but smile every time I listen to SMGB. Each song was so different from the others on Face. I am sure we will see more sides to Jimin on Muse also. Closer than This will be on Muse. It came out in December. Definitely an ARMY song, so nostalgic for long time ARMYs especially.
Jimin has been writing, producing, writing music for a long time. He is no beginner. He may not be your style and that is fine, but please, educate yourself before making assumptions on what he has done and where you think he is now. Find the copyrights, who’s produced what, etc. BTS knows he is an all around.
He also wrote all the songs on the Face album and the song “Sameraldo” as well, and the new album is the writer and composer. This boy is amazing in every sense of the word.
Last year was eventful year for Jimin. He released his debut album, he went to the military and he did a song with his idol Taeyang from BigBang. Pretty nice.

If you know Jimin’s subject for this album and listen to it, you will understand the choices. It was about his dark moments during the pandemic. You only judge by the sound whether you like or not and completely miss the vibe and lyrics. It is a sad sexy song and even after a year is very popular and beloved. Still gives me goosebumps and sounds different every time. This song debuted on top of Billboard Hot 100 with no radio and playlisting. Even the Billboard was astounded and discussed it. You are right! Initially Like Crazy didn't hit on my first listen. Because the song doesn't have too many highs and lows or a buildup. But it really grew on me and with every listen i discover nuances in the song. It is intentionally created like that - because jimin describes being in a dream like state.

V contributed in his album tho. It wasn't given to him like a Christmas present. He made 14 songs before and all were denied so he had to work with Ador . He contributed in the concept the theme the meaning the promotions because he didn't have enough time to make other songs .

My comments are ONLY about the production. Jimin is an incredible vocalist, and has a very unique to him sound and style of singing.
As a music producer, my goal is to make sure the artist is recognizable in every way. Music is like an extension of yourself, so if I’m genre hopping and trying tons of different things while producing for an artist (unless specifically asked to do so) I’m doing them a disservice.
If that’s what Jimins going for, then I understand.
My comments were not to undermine Jimins talents and accomplishments (of which he has many) this is just my opinion on the producers of the music itself.

Jimin's releasing his 2nd solo album called Muse on July 19th along with the title track called "Who". He already released another song from the album called Smeraldo Garden Marching Band featuring Korean rapper Loco. And just letting you know there is a dance to Like Crazy. You can watch a performance or the dance practice to see the choreography. Yes Jimin released his first solo album last year but he's had solo songs before on BTS albums like Lie, Serendipity, and Filter. And all 3 of those songs are very different from each other and even different from his album releases too. I would recommend listening to those songs too.

I think Jimin knows exactly what he’s doing with his solo career. His album Face is very cohesive and it’s amazing, one of my favorites along with Hobi’s last album, Indigo and Layover by V.
Jin went to the military first and now that he finished his duty with the country, he’s gonna start his solo career. I’m excited to hear his incredible vocals on new songs! 💜
I don’t think jimin is trying to find his sound. BTS is known for changing their sound and trying new things. All the members do that. Just listen to RM’s last album. It’s totally different from his other work. And JK also has said in interviews that he wants to try everything. So I think it’s intentional. Jimin’s last released song is again way different. 💜💜💜

jimin wrote and co-produced his music. he has credits all over his solo work since the inception of chapter 2 which signifies his persona independent of BTS. He has never had a supporting role and has already established himself in this industry. He was and will always be a unique artist that has made his own way.
You can never really know Jimin is going to drop next. He is extremely versatile and isn't afraid to try something different. The only thing you can expect is to expect the unexpected.
You talked about how Jimin needs to release an album, but two of the songs that you reacted to are singles from his debut solo album. It may only have six tracks, but he was already working on his second album too, since he isn't allowed to do any music while he's in the military. The 2nd album, Muse, is being released soon and the first single is already out. The BTS boys don't try to lock themselves in to a particular style, like you're wanting. Instead, they focus on the meaning and message of their songs and on the colors of their own voices. Several of them like to do themed albums, so there can be a particular sound for a whole album, but that doesn't mean that it's that particular member's sound. Look at how different J-Hope's two albums are from each other. And if Jimin's single from his Muse album, Smeraldo Garden Marching Band, is any indication. Muse is going to be quite different from Face. BTS members like to challenge themselves and change and grow as artists. Please stop trying to lock Jimin, or any of the other members, into the box of a specific sound. If you keep that up, you're probably going to end up disappointed.

These aren’t singles. The first 2 songs are from “Face”, his first album. The 3rd song will be on “Muse”, which will be released mid-July. Jimin wrote all the lyrics. The music was produced by BTS producers that he’s been working with for years. All the songs for Jungkook’s album were written by Western songwriters and produced by LA based producers. There is nothing wrong with Jungkook’s approach to his album. Jimin’s “Face” album was a very personal story of challenges he faced during the pandemic. He is going to need to work with other producers in order to grow, but I think he’s on the right track and will figure it out.

I just think finding who you are artistically usually means you need to at least try going outside your comfort zone. And Pdogg is definitely Jimin’s comfort zone. He may never work with a different team, and the intimacy and trust he has with them might allow him to try things he wouldn’t. Whatever works for him, but I am looking forward to whatever he does.

He does have an album tho, and the second one is coming out this month. You should do a bit more reasearch before reacting, and if you look at the previous stuff he's put out Jimin does have a sound, he's always been rnb/pop. But having a sound when it comes to BTS members, they don't really box themselves with one sound. Jimin specifically here, has mentioned multiple times that he's interested in trying out as many genres and sounds as he can, which is something he has always done, you can see that in his previous songs like Lie, Filter, Serendipity, friends. He's probably one of the most versatile and experimental members. And you really need to react to Face, the EP and you'll see just how cohesive, versatile and authentic to himself his music is.
This is not to say that this is typical Jimin. There is no such thing. It's always different. And in vocals, and in dance, and in performance. Always reveals a new side.

Jimin DID make an album - it’s called FACE! He’s now onto #2 MUSE. Don’t compare him to JK. JK was GIVEN an album to sing with a bunch of western artists to collab. He did not write a word in that album and it is not cohesive - no one song has anything to do with the other. It’s a pop album of someone else’s creation. Jimin’s album DOES have a story, because his album is very personal. He co-wrote, co-composed and co-produced his album. Of the 3 of them (the 3 youngest), he is the ONLY one who has written his own music in solo era. If anyone still needs to find their ‘style’, it’s JK, not Jimin- he knows exactly who he is musically.
As for the ‘80s trend’, on the contrary…the world needs more 80s music. Being as young as you are I wouldn’t expect you to understand just how important the 80s era was - the best, most creative, most musically experimental time in music history. God knows currently the way music is moving, it’s predictable, dirty, hyper/over-sexualized and the bar has been set real low in terms of real talent! Jimin IS an original artist; he doesn’t want to be like everyone else to fit in and become famous; he just loves to make music. Like Crazy is a fantastic blend of 80s synth, modern and Jimin. I love SMFP2 - and yes, it’s Jimin rapping- but I don’t know how many times people have said it reminds them of Kanye or Kendrick Lamar…so while it’s amazing performance art, I wouldn’t go as far as saying it’s any more original than Like Crazy.

Like rm, jimin’s albums tell a story. Each song a different chapter. “Face” is an album depicting a dark time in jimins life. Each song is in the order of his journey. With “face off” talking about betrayal. “Alone” severe depression. “Like crazy” numbing his pain through alcohol use. Then “ set me free” fighting his demons in his head to finally b ok. Trust me it is very well thought out. He didn’t want to be angelic jimin on the album because that’s not what it was about. So the album has so many unique things like rapping, distorted sounds, unusual mixing, and incredible lyrics. As for his new album. No one really knows. It’s about inspiration. Wanted things to be happy and light. Showing his fans that he’s ok now and happy. His first song came out recently and was a shout out to nostalgia. The 60’s. Beatles Sgt pepper kill nd of bright, colorful, and fun Jimin. Easy dance to learn, live vocals, and ft. A rapper. It’s just a happy song. Muse comes out on the 19th. Jimin is an incredible artist and performer. All members of BTS are incredible and talented people, but Jimin has that IT factor that draws people's attention to him. His solo album/EP FACE is my favorite album of all time, the emotions and rawness that it carries, his vulnerability and strength at the same time mixed in those songs? Blows my mind. Closer than this is also a song for us, ARMY, to make sure we always know that he is there for us whenever we feel down. He is just a boy in Korea who loves us for who we are.

This is very much a Western way to think. I've heard this from very famous producers and singers who have watched BTS and from my knowledge I recognize it: Thinking people are "trying to find their sound" because they are doing things you either don't like or you don't understand. That is something I've heard about a multitude of artists if they move out of the genre they are known for. Because staying in your lane leads to profits but challenging your art doesn't necessarily. Jimin has talked about these songs and what they mean to him and why he chose to produce them this way. He very much knows his range and capabilities. One of the tenets the head of his company (who they are close to) emphasizes is for them to explore what they want with their music. BTS albums have similarities but aren't the same and that goes for the artists as well. If you EVER even LOOKED into RM, his music from his first mixtape to the second mixtape to the first album and to this last album is completely different. They don't like to pigeon hole themselves. That's you not understanding how they make their music. So if you don't like something okay but it is NEVER okay to say someone is trying to find themselves if you haven't looked into the person. For an example what if you had a project and you were proud of it but some random person wrote blogs about it saying "meh, I don't think he found his style yet." Do you think that is a kind thing to say? Especially if they haven't heard the full project or even really understands you and your purpose for the project? I mean in the end, you'll probably say "he doesn't know or care" and you'd be right. You are nobody to him but you're trying to get a foot in this yt react space telling people who listen to him that "he doesn't know his sound." What you should definitely check out is his live performances, that were done under BTS albums. His live performance of - Lie, Serendipity and Filter are incredible and the talent he shows on stage while performing those songs is breath taking.

Jimin is called King of Kpop for a reason
Jimin is not a support (sub) vocalist. He is lead vocal (JK is main) and main dancer. These songs are from Jimin’s first album (an EP) that he released last year, “Face”. Each songs is technically a different genre to suit the message each relays. The album is about his struggles and depression during COVID. The 2 songs you reacted to (Like Crazy and Set me Green or 2)are the only ones with MVs. The other songs are: “Face off”, “Dive” (an interlude), “Alone” and the hidden track”Letter” (live performances is on YT called “Dear Army”. I would also recommend the liver performance of Like Crazy on Jimmy Fallon (it’s the English version of the song). As well as his Like Crazy acoustic live performance on Lee Mujin (also on YT). Closer than this is a fan song he released in December as a gift before he enlisted. It is part of his new album coming out this month, 19th called “Muse”. His pre-release, Smeraldo Garden Marching Band, came out just over a week ago (a Beatles tribute, Stg Pepper). Edit. Only the rap line has previous solo work. The others all just started in the last 18 months, prior to their military enlistment.
Jimin has an awesome vocal range... a lot of his 'falsetto' is actually his chest/head voice... also his album (Face) is basically a run through of how he was dealing with the pandemic... some of it not so well... he addresses it in his episode of Yoongi (Suga) show Suchwita... so it was a lot of clubbing/drinking ... Set Me free pt 2... the choreography was partly by Sienna LaLau who did the BTS track On Kinetic Manifesto... Jimin likes to have a big hand in writing his own work... JK chose tracks written by other people for his album... which was his choice... and has done very well for him ... as the others have for each of the 7... we now await Jin's album as he only had time to release a single before he went into the military... he is currently postponing it as Jimin's second album (Muse) will release on July 19th... and the members are always supportive of each other, whether it be for group projects or solo works...

Completely disagree. It might be Jimin's first album, but he's not new to releasing songs of his own. The most surprising song from Jimin was Set me free pt.2, but we've seen glimpses of this Jimin from Tony Montana and other BTS songs. He's not just a high voice. That man can grooowl.

So if you're expecting to listen to a few songs and say "oh okay, now I get who (insert member's name) is", I'm afraid you will never truly get there. You seem to have preconceived ideas of what you expect of Jimin and BTS . They change it up all the time and experiment with their music. That doesn’t mean they are searching for their sound they are just not limiting themselves to one genre.

I love Jimin's album Face, particularly the song Face Off. He has a few songs from over the years. His song Promise is the most streamed Soundcloud song of all time. I can't wait to hear what he has done with hus new album Muse to be released on 19th July. His song Friends which he sings with V is adorable. It is filled with things from their friendship. His solo debut Face was an emotionally draining, cathartic, exploratory album. Part of his exploration, like with Face, was him living with P Dogg and a small group to write, compose, record & produce that album. His sophomore effort Muse will be focused on love, and a lighter freer Jimin. He doesn’t do much with a lot of other people writing music & many different producers working for him, like JK did w/ Golden. He may post military, but for now he is focused on making the music he wants with people he cares about vs. commercial success. ‘Closer Than This’ is from Muse (b4 we knew there was a 2nd album). It was for Army as a comfort, released just b4 he enlisted. The most recent track ‘Smeraldo Garden Marching Band’, released last week, is again a totally different vibe. Has Easter eggs for Army and his signature deceptively simple lyrics w/ a double meaning (iykyk). It’s happy, bright, cheerful… represents the lighter, more joyful Jimin after the catharsis of Face. Still exploring his sound with even less boundaries placed on himself. The MV is an absolute delight.

Jimin doesn’t have "a sound", he is way too versatile for that. Like BTS, he likes to experiment but his voice is his signature.
The 1st two songs are from his album FACE. Even though all the songs on it are musically different, they do follow a theme, or better put, they are telling a story. You will understand how cohesive they are by listening to them from start to finish with translated lyrics.
Jimin is coming out with his 2nd album MUSE on 19 July. It will be completely different from Face.

Absolutely that is all Jimin singing (aside from the choir). Noone else is rapping. The auto tune was a choice as it represents his inner voices.
Regarding Jimin’s “sound.” None of the BTS members really stick to one genre. His Face album is one continuous narrative, so Like Crazy and Set Me Free pt2 make sense when you are listening to all the songs in order. His second solo album Muse releases on the 19th.
I don't know what your actual producing credits are but Jimin's Face ALBUM is excellent! He is a storyteller and the entire theme of face was focused on his personal journey through the pandemic. His new ALBUM will focus on the theme of love and he's reflecting on self love (blooming) and romantic love (serenade)... Jimin and his team are pretty rock solid and I much prefer his style of music & cohesive production over a cobbled together album of basic, random 'cool' songs.

You were confused because you don't follow the work. Jimin wasn't looking for your sound, he knew exactly what he was doing. His album, as he himself said, is to be heard in sequence, as he is telling the story. Set me free part 2 ends the album, but there is the English version of Like Crazy after set me free, with a song called Letter inside it. This is a very significant album. Ps* Jimin in set me free part 2 has a German poem tattooed all over his chest.

Jimin's album "FACE" is a concept album from top to bottom. He's describing his personal journey through the pandemic so it's best to listen to all the tracks in order. Both "Like Crazy" and "Set me Free part 2" are from "FACE". "Closer Than This" is a fan song he recorded for ARMY before joining the military.
It's all Jimin; he has a lower register that he can sing in as well (he usually sings counter-tenor). You hear it a lot more in their older music.
I know nothing about the Weekend, but to me the synth wave style in this song perfectly fits the slightly ‘out of it’ escapist theme of the song. And, as someone young in the 80s I really love it!
I think you underestimate how intentional the music choices for each song are. BTS as a group and individually create albums that are very cohesive, based on the theme and the story, utilising the sound for each track that it requires in that story.

Ft equally must hear songs ❣“Face Off”, absolute fire❣Alone”, so deep, beautiful & emotional. Which comes right after ❣“Like Crazy” which has a full English version I almost prefer, as well, also a ‘hidden’ song ❣”Letter” (hidden track only in physical album specifically for army), (which Jimin wrote as a thank you to army, & ❣“Set Me Free Pt.2”. The whole album, as Jimin has mentioned, is what he was trying to convey, pouring his heart out, his very essence, to show what he was going through, during pandemic, his emotions, thoughts, loneliness, despair, depression, that he hoped to share & have many able to relate to! Part of the ENTIRE point of Chapter 2 for the members of BTS is to experiment, mature musically and personally, *continue* to explore other genres, in order to bring back even better versions of themselves for the group. So what you call trying to find his voice is actually Jimin doing what each member was meant to do in Chapter 2. Any idea that Jimin isn't already established as a solo artist does sort of expose you as not really doing the research you should be doing before making a judgment. Someone else slammed JK (ummecessarily) for taking songs from Western artists, and compared the two. It's not a competition, in spite of what some "solo stans" seem to think. The BTS members don't see it that way, and they wouldn't appreciate others doing it. The thing about BTS is that each member has had tremendous success as solo artists...but when you bring them together, the sum of the whole is even greater than the parts...and the parts are terrific.
As a group, BTS just doesn't espouse this idea of needing to pick a lane and stay in it, so why would any individual member think that about their solo endeavors?
Face was an introspective album, mostly about pandemic time. Jimin had a really hard time. For Like Crazy, if you watch him in the video, you will see he is trying to have fun a little to hard. The song Face-Off he sings mostly in his lower range, other than Letter, is my favorite song on Face. Each song is different. I remember being surprised by Set Me Free Pt 2, very dark and gritty, when it came out and it was the pre-release. On his chest is a German poem. Alone is heart breaking. Jimin was very involved with the songs on the EP, He co-wrote most of them and literally lived with PDogg for several months working on the album(s).
Muse is going to be lighter, more about what inspires him. I can't help but smile every time I listen to SMGB. Each song was so different from the others on Face. I am sure we will see more sides to Jimin on Muse also. Closer than This will be on Muse. It came out in December. Definitely an ARMY song, so nostalgic for long time ARMYs especially.
Jimin has been writing, producing, writing music for a long time. He is no beginner. He may not be your style and that is fine, but please, educate yourself before making assumptions on what he has done and where you think he is now. Find the copyrights, who’s produced what, etc. BTS knows he is an all around.
He also wrote all the songs on the Face album and the song “Sameraldo” as well, and the new album is the writer and composer. This boy is amazing in every sense of the word.
Last year was eventful year for Jimin. He released his debut album, he went to the military and he did a song with his idol Taeyang from BigBang. Pretty nice.

If you know Jimin’s subject for this album and listen to it, you will understand the choices. It was about his dark moments during the pandemic. You only judge by the sound whether you like or not and completely miss the vibe and lyrics. It is a sad sexy song and even after a year is very popular and beloved. Still gives me goosebumps and sounds different every time. This song debuted on top of Billboard Hot 100 with no radio and playlisting. Even the Billboard was astounded and discussed it. So Jimin became the first asian artist to debut #1 on Billboard Hot 100 after 60 years of Billboard history. First Asian to debut #1 was a Japanese singer in 1963. Jimin also became first Asian to top Billboard Artist 100. His solo debut was a huge success. BTW Like Crazy has choreography in live performance. He debuted Like Crazy live performance in Jimmy Fallon Show. Its worth watching.

BTW re the MMA 2019 you watched recently, it's not a BTS concert. It's a prestigious Koream end of the year music awards show called Melon Music Awards. they just took over. BTS concerts are now held in stadiums, not in covered halls :) You should watch Guide to BTS by Taylor Mari. It's goes upto May 2022. There may be update coming up.
BTS are even better live. I watched them in concerts. Their synergy and stage presence is riveting and like no other boy bands. Watching mv is not the same as live normally for most. Jimin's voice is even more powerful live. It literally reverberates around the stadium.

You are right! Initially Like Crazy didn't hit on my first listen. Because the song doesn't have too many highs and lows or a buildup. But it really grew on me and with every listen i discover nuances in the song. It is intentionally created like that - because jimin describes being in a dream like state.

You're so uninformed that the ending was just maddning. How long have you been reacting to BTS?! Haven't you learnt that you need a quick google before a reaction? It's nice that you started the channel to listen to more music as you said previously, but put some effort at least damn... He already released an album, he's been writing for years now and has released singles before, and he's a LEAD vocalist in BTS, not a "supporter".

His FACE ep album is best listened in the order as it tells the story of how dark he got during the pandemic & how he overcame it. Jimin is quite versatile. Keeps ARMY always guessing what he’s offering next. His 2nd solo album is coming up 7/19. I actually love his 1st solo album FACE but it helps to know his concept behind it. A little more understanding perhaps on his musical journey to know his artistry or artistic choices as well. TY
