Hi..i've been an immigrant since 2009..i travel every yr to my local country..i dont stay more than a year but the longest i stayed was 8 mos. Since they're after for the recent 5 yrs & since it was pandemic, i was lockdown for 10 months and since im a senior i was'nt allowed to travel..but im back now in US. Did you experience them doing maintenance to their system while you were going through the naturalization process? I haven't been able to access my account online at all for the past week due to some interface update they have been doing. I have not been able to access the portal at all!
It was accessible with no problem but It's common to have some down time for system upgrades and such.
I got my biometrics appointment and the letter but it come with 2 papers one is the place and date and the one in the back says APPLICANTS INFORMATION WORKSHEET AIW
do i give out that letter the day of the appointment?

thank you for sharing your experiences related to the naturalization process. just a quick question tho, do i need to have a valid passport at the time of my naturalization interview? my passport has expired since last year and didnt renew it bcoz i had no plans travelling outside the USA. please enlighten me im a lil concerned about it. thank you
I don't think it's necessary for your passport to be up to date.
Thank you. When I take the test ,no online. My wife will take the test. We learned how to apply on line from your video. They said no need biometrics appointment.They informed us they have the record. Then she has the test this month. They never ask to take her photo. Is it not have to bring her photos? They use her green card photo?

Does the interview happens the same day of the biometrics? Or is that a separate thing
Separate. The interview appointment takes place after the biometrics (not the same day)
At what point did you have to bring the passport size pictures? If they ever asked for them.

They took my photos at the office. Keep in my mind that some offices do offer photo services but some don’t.

Hello, in your opinion do you think this process of doing it yourself should be don’t by those who fully understand English and with some education such as a diploma? I’m only 19 and would like to get around a lawyer of doing it for me as it seems pretty simple for someone like me to do it.
In my opinion, if you can understand the questions and you're capable of answering and your case is pretty straight forward then do it yourself. I saw a lot of comments with more complex situations like perhaps asylum, losing a spouse while filing for citizenship through marriage.. in scenarios like this, I would definitely talk to a lawyer but that's just my personal opinion. I am not a professional immigration lawyer or expert. I hope this helps.

What passport should i take? Do i really need to renew and take my mexican passport?
They take your Green card not your previous passport. Take your Mexican passport with you anyways. I don't think it has to be renewed.
