1 Cry finds something he likes and tries to solve it 2 Cry gets into trouble looking for the answer and almost dies 3 He gives up and solves a different problem 4 Reward for the problem he solves solves his first one
Psst. Hey. Hey. Come a little closer. Little more. *whispers* You don't have to kill Daud even if you fight and the scene where he surrenders and explains to a low chaos Corvo that he respects him for doing what he couldn't is actually kind of cool no big deal that you didn't see it I'm just throwing it out there if maybe you have a save nearby and want to see it or whatever ok baaaaai *shuffles away*
Oh and as others said, you missed out on an epic duel with Daud. If you have a save file before your encounter with him, I recommend replaying this just for the dialogue. If not, I'm sure you could find a video of the fight and dialogue. But yeah, that dialogue is kind of the accepted canon of the story since the DLCs talk about it (hopefully that's not considered a spoiler, trying to leave out major details)
Cryaotic However on a serious point i still believe crouching still effects the reaction of the assassins because i think when you stand they see you better then when your crouching, maybe sound is not the problem but sight sorry if you were offended cry, didn't know. :)
I've kind of gotten lost on the new purpose and quests and stuff, but this game series is still really epic. So s'cool, I like it, wish I was as deadly as Corvo. Almost makes you want to write a poem. I'm done now.
Oh man there was some good timing Cry when you got behind Daud. Cry:*looks around the room* Me: How are you going to get out? Cry: How the heck am I going to get out? Kinda funny when said and realized at the same time. XD
Cry you play this game SO much better than I could. I mean, that stressful music that starts once 'battle is initiated' makes my heart race when I just WATCH let alone if I was actually holding the controller. I'd be flipping shit. Ha ha ha! Love watching your play style, who cares if others think it's unorthadox? Who wants to be orthadox anyway? That's boring! Keep up the awesome work! I'm so glad you didn't kill Daud, he seems like a pretty cool dude. I hear in some dlc you get to play as him. That would be pretty cool sir.
Me: Starts watching cry play game, gets addicted, after 7 videos, I say to myself "I need to sleep". 3 videos later, "ok, I seriously gotta sleep." 4 videos later, "screw it, turning off my computer, it'll help!" Ten minutes later, turns it back on and watches until the end of this video... "Fuuuuuuu... dge sticks.........."
This is actually on a quite late notice, but can I just say that I love the fact that this game actually gets that people "only" get unconcious when you strangle them? Like in other games strangling apparantly equals immediate death which is so wrong! Another reason why I freakin' love this game!
Abe Hitman series? also they usually only die afterwards if their oxygen supply is still cut off or if they were strangled too hard and suffered permanent damage.
Cry, I love when you play games like this. I love games that you can do whatever you want and it ends up different, I love seeing how your mind works and what you do in these situations. I love seeing different perspectives of the games you play because you play so much different than me. It's refreshing to see different routes presented! Thanks so much for playing games like this!! :D
17:10 (Let's assassin slide off the roof after choking him "You probably just died, didn't you?" Checks body to find him dead......sighs out of frustrated disappointment........smashes nearby rat) That shit was funny. Literally laughed out loud.
i love that you do series. Thank you for doing series. Its like watching a movie dvd and then its 10+ sequels with the commentary on. Glorious good fun for those of us who cannot afford to buy games ourselves. Btw, your language may not be great for kids, but my 6 year old son still loves you so I can't not let him watch sometimes. ;) Keep doing.
A little late to the party but I'm happy you didn't kill anyone. It's more entertaining to watch you sneak around and the commentary that comes with the inevitable fuck up when you get spotted. 9/10 would watch you play again.
I've watched this playthrough like three times, and it still sticks out as one of his most memorable for me. I recently bought the game myself, which, of course, led to me watching this again after I beat it. If you haven't yet, now would be a great time to rewatch this. ^.^
I have grown to love and appreciate all the time that Cry puts into these videos, in every one his editing just kelps getting better and better and we get to see him do all these cool things and I dunno he's just amazing is my overall statement
TotalFreakZoid Even if Cry would've fought against Daud he would still have had the option to spare him, so he really just missed out on interesting dialogue and cut scenes. I don't understand why you would be glad about that, but whatever I guess.
TotalFreakZoid You can apparently spare Daud, if you choose to fight him; though, if you've been looking into the comments, you probably know that by now.
***** I don't think he knew that, and neither did I. Thank you for letting me know. Maybe if I play this game (probably won't) then I will keep that in mind (btw, I'm not being sarcastic! I appreciate it a lot ^ ^)
Cry, I really love your method of playing and how you go out of your way to try and do it the honest way. It's always enjoyable to watch you play, man. Thank you
I love how the game actually takes little actions or lack thereof into account. Like in the previous episodes how a letter references Corvo signing the guestbook at the Boyle party, which was missing from mine since I didn't sign it. And here, the guard telling Daud that Corvo's just busting right through, since Cry's gettin caught and fightin but perseverin. It took me forever, waiting and watching and being careful, but I did do the same segment without ever getting caught, all ghost like, and the guard is all "man we lost him and din't see or hear nothing, don't know what happened" and Daud is all "that's cuz you're crap at your job, Corvo's a better assassin than youz mugz."
Ayyyyyy. You know, I've always liked how you credit the artist, not everyone seems to. Danke, bud. This'll probably sound lame and possibly mean, but I really love it when you start a new game and you're bad at it. You rant and huff and get mad at yourself, but you persevere, you keep at it, and you improve little by little until you're pretty much flying through those puzzles and stealth maneuvers. It's such a fun thing to see. Good on you, Cap'n. High five.
After a week of being in a crappy hotel unable to watch youtube videos it's been really nice hearing your voice, cry and watching your awkward game play c: I mean that in the most non-creepy way possible xD
I said it before I'll say it again, you really should play the DLCs, especially now that you're starting to get a sense of what Daud is truly like. He's a great character and the DLCs really explain more of his story and how he's tried to redeem himself and his brotherhood of assassins. And the DLCs are rich in extra lore of the world within Dunwall, you would love it since you like games with great stories.
You know what, Cry? You're awesome mate. I don't care if you make mistakes in the game. I'd rather watch your Letsplays where you show that nobody's perfect than some other channels who want to make everything perfect. If I were playing that game, man? I'd fucking be worse than everyone here. Seriously. You rock, cry. Keep it up!
Anyone else feel it's extremely likely that Corvo and the Empress were lovers and that it's also likely Corvo is Emily's father as the picture she drew suggests? Makes sense why she'd choose him as her bodyguard so no matter what they'd be together and the lengths he's going to rescue Emily and keep her safe. Really love this game and the way Cry is playing it.
kinda had the feeling too no shit his mad that shes dead but even tho she was only in the game for a short time u could tell she was very kind and awesome
Damn :D You really should have fight Daud! At first, the fight is damn epic, and... well, when you defeat him, it's your choice if you let him live or kill him instead. You don't even have to harm him :D
Cry, is there any chance you would play through the DLC once the main campain is done ? You play as Daud, have new gizmos and powers and the excellent level design and characters that define Dishonored.
Cry. If you have a good, convenient save before Daud, fight him. You get the choice on whether or not to kill him when you beat him. He discloses a lot of important info.
Cry's reaction when he got the pouch from Daud and the key then teleported outside was friggin' priceless! And then when someone spotted him it's as if the end of the world for him! XD Good job, Cry! :p
Damn I was really hoping you would fight Daud. After you beat him you are given the option to kill him or let him live and it would have been way more epic that way.
For some reason I feel that the way Cry dealt with it was epic in its own way. Run in the room again, alert Daud, take his stuff, read his books, and gtfo. All of this while Daud is like: FIGHT ME SON!
Sky the Crow Demon *Daud:* Now we fight the duel that no two others could fight, against the ticking of the clock. *Corvo:* Hang on a second gotta read ok byeeeee
Daud's territory is HUGE! Lots of nooks and crannies. :D I might have laughed way too hard at the marking his territory thing. It's amazing that the guards will just let go of their suspicion so fast. Not quite as hard as assassin's creed where they literally follow you onto rooftops to get you. That little "SHUN!!!!" sound effect when Corvo's been spotted freaks me out every time, though. Still, I wouldn't go near that water with a space suit on. Blegh, nasty. Also, bumble bees and peanut butter, nice analogy. XD
cry should of pulled out the heart and see what the empress had to say then battle daud see what he had to say about emily then spare him i love that part
Cry never fights anymore... Even when he's spotted, and some dude comes right at him, Cry runs. He didn't even confront Daud, and instead stole all Daud's shit while Daud kept attacking Cry. I think that, in itself, is applaudable.
When you think about it, Cry would be the WORST person for a dangerous situation. If he can't kill someone in a game without feeling horrible, he could never actually kill a person. He probably would fuck everything up first thing, too. Now don't take this comment as a hate because I love Cry, I'm just thinking logic.
Well, actually, if you go back and rewatch the first few episodes of Dishonored, Cry doesn't feel particularly remorseful about killing people there (and also keep in mind that the first time he saw rats eating people, he broke into laughter) he only stopped killing the enemies after enough comments screamed at him not to in order to get the good ending. Also, he has a habit of being thorough and exploring everything, which I think would be a good habit to have if ever one of us got stuck in a dangerous situation with him. I dunno, maybe it's just me, but if I had to choose between Cry and some other gamers (all this with the assumption that their gaming skills/style are exactly the same as their survival skills) I would probably pick Cry.
silly cry shadow kill doesn't turn people into kids, it turns them into ash. ... ... ... OH MY GOD YOU DIDN'T I... I just don't know how to feel about this .
That's right, Cry. And you keep doing your thing. :) That's why so many people love to watch your gameplays. And believe me. I would have been worse! :D
YES! He's going to get to THAT part. YES! Ooooooh, I've been dreaming about this moment ever since he started this LP. Tomorrow's gonna be goooooooooooood
Did Cry ever get the rune in the end? Also I'm hoping you play the Brigmore Witches dlc, it tells us a lot about Daud and how he came to be, all assasiny and yeh.
Cry, I've read you're description and I feel you're over thinking. From what I have seen, you are doing perfectly fine. The biggest critic is yourself. Just be who you are! That's why people like and subscribe to you. And y'know, people like watching a "stumbling fool" a lot better than a boring fart who gets everything right all the time. It's who you are. It's part of your witty character. Stick to yourself because we love the clumsy Cry!
At least you've managed to get this far! If I were to play, I'd immediately give up, pick it back up a year or two later, and wonder why I ever stopped playing in the first place. I'd be too scared of the weepers, too. While I guess they're weak, I'm just not very fond of anything zombie-like. It really unnerves me.
You actually could fight Daud and just choose to leave him alive in the end of the fight. Anyway, this episode is good, and thank you for uploading it so fast C:
Wow that was... great! :D I almost stopped breathing when you were trying to sneak by Daud XD Also Cry you are very good with fixing things when you mess up ;)
I thought a powerful message for Daud would be to knock out all his men and Daud himself on my first playthrough. Was successful and had a blast with it. Then I saved, loaded an older save and fought him because how could I resist fighting the counterpart to Corvo? Was actually surprised at the dialogue in the fight and the result. Was my favorite part of the game, really. I recommend loading an old save just to see it for yourself, if you can.
1 Cry finds something he likes and tries to solve it
2 Cry gets into trouble looking for the answer and almost dies
3 He gives up and solves a different problem
4 Reward for the problem he solves solves his first one
Omfg "I need to calm down, think rationally, and pull out my beating heart." XD
But... doesn't everyone do that in order to think?
MADDragon Draco I would hope not O.O
Saige Parker Oh No. I've been tearing the heart out or my chest for as long as I can remember. Should I stop?
MADDragon Draco Oh, No nooo~ You're not thinking it through. Use the heart's power, go attach a round glass to it and wrap it in metal wire.
Kuroda Cursus Of course! How could I be so irrational. Be back in a few.
imagine how crappy it would be to puke in those masks after you got possessed
That's what iam thinking too! XD
Psst. Hey.
Hey. Come a little closer.
Little more.
*whispers* You don't have to kill Daud even if you fight and the scene where he surrenders and explains to a low chaos Corvo that he respects him for doing what he couldn't is actually kind of cool no big deal that you didn't see it I'm just throwing it out there if maybe you have a save nearby and want to see it or whatever ok baaaaai

Two of the three unconscious assassins died...
Cry kills a rat out of rage...
i was shouting at the screen when he was asking in the beginning why they could hear him, "BECAUSE YOUR NOT CROUCHING CRY, MY GOD!"
Actually I have the most improved stealth boots, which makes my foot steps completely silent.
Cryaotic well then that confuses me as well ehhhh this is akward….
I LOVE YOU!
Cryaotic However on a serious point i still believe crouching still effects the reaction of the assassins because i think when you stand they see you better then when your crouching, maybe sound is not the problem but sight sorry if you were offended cry, didn't know. :)
gokce yesildag Ahah you didn't think he would actually reply to you :')
+gokce yesildag Basically skyrim logic?
Soooo, if I'm right: in a DLC you will see the story from Daud's perspective? Hmmm...
ok. Pfff, like I care.
PLAY IT CRY, PLAY IT OH MA GAHD, PLAY IT!
"Cry plays the world" after all :)
I hope he will..

Cry:*looks around the room*
Me: How are you going to get out? Cry: How the heck am I going to get out?
Kinda funny when said and realized at the same time. XD
"They can't catch me, I'm like a fucking slippery serpent"
You have such a way with words.

Can this series never end please
Your profile pic matches your comment so well =P
This is actually on a quite late notice, but can I just say that I love the fact that this game actually gets that people "only" get unconcious when you strangle them? Like in other games strangling apparantly equals immediate death which is so wrong! Another reason why I freakin' love this game!
In metal gear solid 2 and forth, you can strangle them to get them unconscious, or more to kill them (I think you snap their necks)
What games make strangling result in death? Also, people will eventually die. Like, a minute and a half after passing out.
Abe Hitman series? also they usually only die afterwards if their oxygen supply is still cut off or if they were strangled too hard and suffered permanent damage.
You are getting really good at this, man.
I didn't even think you could get away from Daud like that.
Fuckin sick skills, dude.
Cry please for the love of god, turn up the brightness setting!
Cry, I love when you play games like this. I love games that you can do whatever you want and it ends up different, I love seeing how your mind works and what you do in these situations. Daaamn, that new thumbnail. Adorable. As. Hell.
I love how when you possess people, that little voice sounds like it's getting off.
"Oh, ha yes..."
17:10 (Let's assassin slide off the roof after choking him "You probably just died, didn't you?" Checks body to find him dead......sighs out of frustrated disappointment........smashes nearby rat) That shit was funny. Literally laughed out loud.
7:30 This is unDAUDably the best Dishonored video yet. Heh, no...no one? Ok, I'll leave now.
15:00 If you can't get that one, it will RUNE your play through. Heh, like ruin, goddamn I'm funny.
Mr Jones, I appreciate you.
When Cry found the clipping texture I laughed in memory of all the times he flipped out over clipping textures. Good times! c:

20:50 to 22:20 --- All that concerned the two assassin guys was a reference to the original "Thief" video game. How cool is that!?

omg... im so obsessed with this XD
2 shows in 2 days? a dream come true XD
I'm glad Cry decided not to fight Daud..... that's all I wanted to say really.
why? ',:/ that fight is awesome.
Really? Well, I've never really been big on 'fights' and I like the story. I agree with Cry that Daud has a good personality.
TotalFreakZoid Even if Cry would've fought against Daud he would still have had the option to spare him, so he really just missed out on interesting dialogue and cut scenes. I don't understand why you would be glad about that, but whatever I guess.

I just want to thank you for making videos, you make my day better and make me feel less alone.

You know what, Cry? You're awesome mate.

I REALLY hope he plays the DLC because it is almost better then the actual game.
HELL TO THE YES.
Damn :D You really should have fight Daud!

What a wonderful thing to see when waking up from a nap, a new Cry video, time for some popcorn.
"i lost myself so they probably lost me to"
this is why i love cry :D
Amazing video as always Cry, also love that new thumbnail.
Daud's territory is HUGE! Lots of nooks and crannies. :D I might have laughed way too hard at the marking his territory thing.

I love your video descriptions, and appreciate the lack of spoilers!
Every time I hear you reference Kingdom Hearts or the Labyrinth I just get so happy. This makes me happy.
I like the whole whaler mentorship scene that Cry looked in on. I'm pretty sure that it's styled to sound like the tutorial for the original Thief.
cry should of pulled out the heart and see what the empress had to say then battle daud see what he had to say about emily then spare him i love that part

When you think about it, Cry would be the WORST person for a dangerous situation. If he can't kill someone in a game without feeling horrible, he could never actually kill a person. He probably would fuck everything up first thing, too.

I dunno, maybe it's just me, but if I had to choose between Cry and some other gamers (all this with the assumption that their gaming skills/style are exactly the same as their survival skills) I would probably pick Cry.
mahoustar Me too... xD Me too
I've been screaming at the screen in hope that Cry will crouch..
Caleb Lane The thought of not drinking a cup of tea while watching Cry's videos is tormenting this poor tea junkie's head.

OH MY GOD YOU DIDN'T
I... I just don't know how to feel about this
.
I really like Daud, glad you didn't kill him. Can't wait for more to come =) and as always it's so much fun to watch you play!
"Very good I never saw you" he was looking the other way the whole time
Daud and Corvo have got some chemistry man... I ship it.
We have to think of a better shipping and handling company to use for our metaphors, right?
Good point. Sad but true.
I know it. But I'm going to be gunning for Outsider x Emily in Dishonored 2. Probably.
+Snoop Dog That's kinda creepy since if you think about it Emily is hinted to be Corvo's daughter.
+Raymanspy95 Actually confirmed to be his daughter.
btw you can still fight Daud, then have a last conversation with him, and choose wether to kill or spare him.
That's right, Cry. And you keep doing your thing. :) That's why so many people love to watch your gameplays. And believe me. I would have been worse! :D
Loved the "duel commentary" with the books. Classic!
At first I thought he should have used his sleep darts, but then I realized Daud's resistant to toxins
Its funny how cry wants things to kill people but doesn't kill them
Brigmore Witches is the SECOND part of Daud's story, Knife of Dunwall is the first.
yea he got it before he started back tracking..
if you don't have anything to play after this you could always do the DLC. you play as Daud.
32:00 Slight spoiler: you haven't been to the Lighthouse. Yet.
I really wanted him to fight Daud and then let him live. Well whatever, he didn't kill him so I'm good :D
Laughing so much throughout this series. Omg cry is so amazing and hilarious XD
You deeed it! ^_^ I knew you could! ^_^ That was smooth, Cry, like completely and totally smooth! YAY!

"Everything's Alright"
Ack. The tears are coming back.
You actually could fight Daud and just choose to leave him alive in the end of the fight.
Anyway, this episode is good, and thank you for uploading it so fast C:
XD Episode 16, Cry forgets how to sneak. Lol, it was hilarious.
he didnt forget he just has the stealth boots so he doesnt need to
well apparently the stealth boots weren't enough for one of Daud's guys not to hear him =P
Wow that was... great! :D
I almost stopped breathing when you were trying to sneak by Daud XD
Also Cry you are very good with fixing things when you mess up ;)
Dude, the thing that you fuck up sometimes just makes everything even mote awesome. You are cool.
that kh reference... i thought of it right as you said it. love you cry!
26:38 Even for the second time watching Cry's play through it's still impressive as hell.
Simple and Clean, is the way that you're making me feel tonight. The Kingdom Hearts referene
Lunch with cry! What a wonderful thing!!!
Cry makes a reference to Kingdom Hearts the same day I make a Kingdom Hearts tattoo. I'm smiling!
Whoo, nice i've been waiting for this, thank Cry, love you and your videos
I thought a powerful message for Daud would be to knock out all his men and Daud himself on my first playthrough. Was successful and had a blast with it.
Then I saved, loaded an older save and fought him because how could I resist fighting the counterpart to Corvo? Was actually surprised at the dialogue in the fight and the result. Was my favorite part of the game, really. I recommend loading an old save just to see it for yourself, if you can.
Cry you were so good with not killing Daud. I'm so proud of you
