- this is somewhat of a character/relationship study with what they threw at us in season 4 with jonathan and nancy. although i think there's a lot of issues with how they wrote them this season, it opened up a lot for them to explore in season 5 (if they do it right!!) and this is just me trying to make sense of it all lmfao.
i have hope for jancy endgame but i'm also torn because of all the stancy teasing and the awkwardness between jancy in the cabin scene. we shall see but i believe, narratively, that it would make no sense to go back to stancy after everything that's happened.

I can't believe some people are rooting so hard for Stancy 2.0 when this ship exists. It's not perfect but it has so much realness to it, it feels like a genuine and very realistic relationship to me. Would be a shame to let it go to waste, I hope the writers don't go there in the final season.

I left this ship because they lie to each other a lot and I really didn't like their dynamics in S3 and even less so in S4, even two 15-year-old boys (Mike and eleven) are more honest with their feelings and that there is also another Will ship and Mike.
Jancy has serious problems with communication, trust and interest, are they still a good relationship? can I still say that they are good for each other? I really have my doubts. I'm only questioning their relationship because ultimately this couple is going down on their own and I love that Steve had nothing to do with it. Steve always respected Nancy and Jonathan's relationship, which Jonathan didn't in S2.

@@tadeoperez2598 mmmm idk about all that. jonathan was very respectful of stancy in s2. he took nancy home after steve left her at the party drunk, and then lied to nancy saying steve asked him to when he didn’t, just to make steve look better. this has always been debatable, but nancy made it clear to steve that she didn’t love him (basically a breakup) and jonathan was aware of that, so how did he disrespect them? nancy is the one who disrespected steve, if anything. and at this point you can’t say that steve has always respected jancy. as far as steve knows, jancy are still together and strong. yet he decides to tell nancy his dream about her mothering his 6 children when she’s in a relationship? that is not respect, it’s very selfish of him.
All I want for seasons 5 is bring back old Jonathan... And end his story perfectly with Nancy...

I just hate what the Duffers are doing. It was already shit how mistreated and sidelined Jonathan's character was and now, his relationship is rushed. Even if they had gone through everything Jancy did, Stancy just don't know each other that deeply. There is physical attraction? maybe. But Jancy is the whole package. I just hate how the media is hyping Stancy up just because they're Steve fans. It is about the relationship, not the character. With all this hype my biggest fear is that the Duffers decide to make them endgame to please the public
i agree. all that stancy has is physical attraction. they’ve never had a deep conversation, steve doesn’t know anything about what nancy wants because he doesn’t care. it is a selfish relationship and it always has been.

@@REN-bi9by but actually, my problem isn’t really with steve himself. my real problem is the fans’ worshipping of steve to the point that the writers themselves started neglecting the other characters’ stories and growth. that steve stans can’t see past their obsession and idolization of him that anytime any other character is mentioned in any way on social media or otherwise, they have to somehow make it about steve. and because of that, the social media accounts have started to join in. it’s frustrating as someone who loves the first season and the characters it revolved around (THE BYERS FAMILY) and no one gives a shit about them anymore, including their creators. this is the steve effect. and as someone who didn’t fall in love with steve like everyone else did, i’m left with table scraps for the characters i love on this show. the end.
@@REN-bi9by i don’t think the fandom worships him for no reason. i do understand the appeal, just not the point that it’s gotten to. steve fans are CONSTANTLY dragging jonathan through the mud (and charlie) insulting his looks, saying he’s worthless, he should be killed off, he’s nothing but a creep, etc. my opinion on their behavior changes nothing. the fact is, if the show treated jonathan as an important character worth growing after season 1, it would likely be a different story. steve and jonathan have always been portrayed as rivals, so yes, it is valid to compare them to one another, even when it comes to treatment in the writing. also i never said steve was selfish, i said stancy is a selfish relationship and that he has acted selfishly when it comes to her. i realize that steve has had many selfless moments, including when he let nancy go to jonathan at the end of season 2. but he is now going back on that and pursuing nancy while she is in a relationship. how i feel without regarding the fandom is this: steve is a great character that has changed a lot for the better, but he should not be with nancy. that’s it.

I love the parallels to the vanilla relationship that is Stancy. I mean the latter don’t even compare in terms of chemistry, passion and a deep abiding, profound love and understanding of one another. Even now, Steve’s dream was his own, NOT Nancy’s & that relationship is once again all about what Steve wants and needs. Jancy are real equals and partners, they are an OTP for a reason and anyone who disagrees is really not paying attention to their dynamic. Even when they’re miles away, fighting and not communicating, their bond is unshakable. I’m just saying, Stancy would be a real downgrade after these two. 🙄

I’m honestly so hopeful they do not ruin this relationship. We get it, the Duffers LOVE Steve. A lot of us love Steve. But wasn’t a whole part of him growing accepting that he and Nancy didn’t work? All they’re doing in S4 by trying to reanimate the bones of Stancy is regressing him as a character.
And this isn’t even going into how what Steve wants in his dream of six kids is literally *everything* Nancy hates and is running from, how there’s a boatload of depth to Jancy as a couple, and how Jancy are equals in their relationship.
Honestly, if they hadn’t floated Steve and Nancy in front of people, very few would be even wanting this right now. My gut is telling me they won’t end Jancy because that would involve decimating seasons of character development (on top of making not much sense and the whole Upside Down threatening to swallow the world thing), but every so often I start to get paranoid that maybe the Duffer Bros are gonna pull some season 8 GoT bullshit 😅

The Duffers and society in general have a serious problem with Steve. In both Jancy's reunion and Robin and Vickie's talk they had to include Steve. Why? Why do you make everything about Steve? It is incredibly annoying and his character should've died honestly, he is already so overused and overwritten

@@22taylorsversion9 ive never agreed with something more, steve honestly isnt that great of a character and is literally only comedic relief (and he isnt even funny) and there to feed the horny 11 year old girls. in s2 when he called nancy bullshit after she told him she didnt love him when she was drunk i was so angry, he didnt have to do all that and she was literally grieving and steve didnt do anything to help or try to understand her. his entire character plot is s3 was to learn that he didn't need nancy and that he doesnt need to date every women he lays eyes on, and in s4 they threw it all away because steve needs to be treated like a prince bc everyone loves him, it bothers me how much the duffer brothers always do things only for the fans.
im so glad how you mentioned the jancy reunion and robin/vickie talk, they absolutely didnt have to put him in their, im 99% sure it was to make people feel bad for him or to respect him more, in the robin and vickie talk we finally got some queer representation in the show, showing how robin and vickie feel for eachother and they just had to put steve there, eavesdropping. im pretty sure he was meant to die in s1 and ik im gonna get hate for this but im kinda dissapointed he didnt.

I love Jonathan and Nancy, but honestly I’m even more concerned about her ending up with Steve than I am about them breaking up (though that would break my heart.) Because again, that message is really harmful.

And it would fall on the trope of “he changed for me” -big eye roll. Name a more toxic trope… And also undermining Steve’s evolution and him changing for HIMSELF. Nah, Nancy and Jonathan are meant for each other, they respect and love each other deeply and have been each other’s support. They DESERVE to be happy together. Otherwise I’ll only take Nancy with Robin or Nancy single.
You're leaving out that Steve has evolved to become a totally different person as well as the best character in ST, same as Nancy's change, so the message would be that everyone can change for the better and if that happens, they deserve the best.
@@phillycorrigan3508 firstly, steve being “the best character in ST” is a matter of opinion, not everyone thinks that. secondly, just because steve and nancy have both changed doesn’t mean they should end up together. everything in their past DID happen and as we saw briefly in episode 7, steve is a big part of nancy’s trauma with barb. that is a huge part of her character that continues to be brought up, and i’m sure it will be relevant again in s5. she loves jonathan and her growth has been shown through her relationship with jonathan, not with steve.

Them ending up together would be a recess for both their characters and leave out a really bad message that could literally make people stay in toxic relationships because “he’ll change for me.”
Am I the only one who noticed how uncomfortable Nancy looked when Steve told her she was THE one in his dream? She liked the dream, but she didn't want to be a part of it because that's not HER dream, that's HIS, and she has never wanted to settle down and have kids
yes, i for sure noticed, and i know probably every other jancy shipper noticed it too. this is one of the biggest reasons i can’t see them actually going through with a stancy endgame. i know it seems like the duffers only care about steve right now, but they can’t just backtrack everything they’ve ever told us about nancy and her dreams for the future to make it happen.

I don’t know why people like stancy! I mean Steve is a great person but he and Nancy had zero chemistry,none at all!Jonathan and Nancy however had so much chemistry it exploded!
It really sparked from the beginning and you can tell with a glance that the actors are a couple for real - they act so natural together, it is such a good trust between them. Every touch, every glance they give each other is genuine.
I shredded this video with "Love Me Like You Do" and believe me, it got even more beautiful.
What makes them more adorable is that they are together in real life as well!
I actually feel bad for Charlie Heaton. I don't care what the fandom says, but after watching all of the trio's work, it's clear that Charlie is the most intense drama actor with the most range and potential. However, he is the most ignored of the trio and isn't even given scenes to perform. I am sure that outside of Stranger Things, he has a solid chance of having a great acting career and will seriously evolve if everything goes right.

I just watched a Stancy Video, so I searched for this. Steve had his primetime in season 3 without Nancy. A Stancy comeback is not a good idea.
I don't understand why the flipping hell you would choose stancy over jancy, it's not just destroying one of the most powerful connections in the programme but also destroying a well developed character (steve). Also everybody is saying "Jonathan was lying to her through the whole of s4", if you actually paid attention you would realise that he is only doing that so she pursues HER dream. He's doing it out of love. Where as Steve's dream is literally the opposite to what Nancy wants. Like I don't understand how people think it's acceptable to root for stancy 🤔

Just finished watching Season 4 this month and thank you for this edit! I'm glad there are still lots of people who loves Jancy! 🥺 💜 Steve is one of my fave characters in this show but if the duffer brothers will push this Stancy endgame, it will really piss me off! I really much prefer this ship (Jancy) because I really love their chemistry and their dynamics. I do think that Stancy only has that "physical attraction" but with Jancy, their relationship is really deep and Jonathan really CARES for Nancy. Steve in s4 kind of annoys me tbh especially when he told his dream of having 6 kids with Nancy while knowing that Nancy is in a relationship with Jonathan. I don't know what the duffer brothers are doing with Steve's character, they should just make him move on and I'm really hoping that they will not destroy Jonathan and Nancy's relationship in season 5! 🙏

I love Steve a lot of us do, but the thing that sealed it being these two as my favored one is that when Steve told Nancy his dream, she said that sounds terrible and when he told her he always saw her as part of it, her reaction didn't look positive to me. To me if they were to be together one of them would have to sacrifice their dream and neither of them deserves that.
This is one of the best video edits I've seen of Nancy and Jonathan. I've rooted for these two ever since they talked at the funeral place when Jonathan was looking for Will's coffin. I felt the chemistry then! ❤Steve fans wants Nancy to be with him because he is popular and funny, but I don't think they have the chemistry and connection that these two have. I'll be so disappointed if the writers put Nancy back with Steve.

Then he had the audacity to tell her that she will be the mother of his six children even though she is with Jonathan and has said a thousand times that she doesn’t want children or turn out like her parents. He doesn’t even know her honestly or have anything in common with her while Jonathan knows her very well, want the same things in life and have a lot in common. I tried and tried to like him because he’s supposedly a good guy but he’s really not since he’s trying to force his dream on Nancy and pursuing her when she’s dating Jonathan. She loves Jonathan not Steve. I am like it’s been two years just move the hell on! It’s so disrespectful of him making the moves on Nancy when she’s with Jonathan while Jonathan was respectful and never did that.
I understand that the writers might wanted to challenge their relationship in this season so we can see how Nancy is challenging to accept Steve's change(because let's be honest the guy has shifted character). However, Jonathan had always been there for her. All three of them were students in the first 2 seasons who managed to express themselves and stop hiding behind a mask because of peer pressure. They all changed. Especially Steve. But Jonathan was the one who met Nancy in a difficult moment(Barbs death) and helped her accept her inner self and start her own journey. He was there for her, respected her by speaking truth to her about his impression of her, just like she did whe she called him freak. When Steve broke his camera was understandable but that was Jonathans way to hide, just like steve who was trying to be the alpha rich guy of a group of idiots and nancy her girlfriend and part of the popular kids. In that way, Jonathans help led nancy to help Steve in her way by breaking up with him.I understand that they are attracted to each other, but Nancy spent most of her time with Jonathan and grew with Jonathan. Jonathan had always been protective like Steve (but Steve didn't care about his people until Nancys break up when he realized that he actually cares about her /that was a big step).Jonathan had been the man of the house, a protective brother and a shy loner. In s4 was still a protective grown up but they just didn't handle it that good and he seemed weak the whole season. That gave space to stancy. I mean I get it but it is not necessary to happen. It is necessary to have a fight as a normal couple but they lie to each other because they love each other and respect each other's future and careers. In s5 they need to talk open and serious about their future in college and their motives and clear their misunderstandings.
Quite honestly the only reason why I think Nancy looked interested in Steve again for like a minute is because she hasn't seen Jonathon in forever and when you're separated from your partner for a while, it's only natural to accidentally looking at someone in that way who you were once attracted to and cared for. And it's not her fault because Jonathan barely made an effort to stay in contact. I do think Nancy probably did love Steve once but was not in love and was too mad at the situation with Barb to really want their relationship anymore.
I love the two of them as a couple, but I really fear that the Duffer brothers might separate them.
I have this feeling that they are going to break up, but not in a bad way or at least in the end they will just be friends because they have a lot of history. What makes me sad is that they have to give less character development to Jonathan in order to leave Steve as "the best option". Steve and Jonathan are the best option on their own and there is no need to make one look bad to make another look better. Both are great. I wish Jonathan and Nancy would stay together but I think it's too late because Nancy is looking at Steve the way she used to look at Jonathan before they started a relationship. It will be painful to see that process but I think it is the most likely thing to happen 😢
i wish i could say i disagree with you 😭 i still have some hope that they’ll fix it just because of all that jancy has been through from season 1. it just is really disappointing to have the love triangle making a comeback. it is a bit of a backtracking narratively if they decide to make nancy fall in love with steve. especially after murray’s read on her, are they trying to say that he was wrong? what’s even the point of that? idk, i’m just hoping the duffers are smarter than that…

i love this and i really hope the writers leave that love triangle alone,as much as i love steve i feel like they didn't know what to do with his character this season (look at the difference with him in s3) and went with the stancy route because jonathan was away,which is so annoying why can't they just be friends.
Jonathan and nancy have been through so much together it would be such a disappointment to lose them over a college subplot,may i also add the writers forgot Jonathan wanted to go to NYU since he was a kid,but obviously when a character isn't deemed attractive he gets sidelined despite being one of the mains since s1,anyways great work with the editing

To me, when Stancy were together, it’s just teenage hormonal “love” that’s all about sex and lust. Jancy, however, is the real deal. I buy into their relationship than Stancy. Jancy always manages to conquer every challenge together. They always make it as a couple by the end of any kind of day. They know how to sacrifice and compromise as a couple. They act like they’re married already lots of times. I’m so mad that the Duffer brothers screwed Jancy over in season 4. This love triangle is one of the reasons why I’m nervous about season 5.

i love steve as a character now that he’s well developed. i think he’s a great character but putting him back with nancy makes absolutely no sense. jonathan’s always been there for nancy,and knows her a whole lot better than steve ever has. the original stancy was literally nancy wanting popularity and wanting to impress steve the whole relationship. and let’s not forget how steve left her at a party,alone and drunk,just because they had an argument. i get nancy was out of line,but that’s not cool. the steve stans aka jonathan haters most of the time need to chill out and reevaluate. just because steve is great now,doesn’t mean anything. going back to nancy is like returning to the past him. an asshole and a bully
adding onto the jonathan haters subject,people really take him the wrong way. yes he’s done some questionable and stupid things,we all know that. but SO.HAS.STEVE and some of these die hard steve lovers were so quick to forgive steve just because he got better as a person. but jonathan’s always been a great person to everyone around him to the best of his ability,yet people always bring up his past and hate him for it. even if jonathan sorta fell off the wagon this season,if the duffer brothers are smart and logical enough,they can give him a great redemption
The thing is, Steve grew into a good, caring person, whereas Jonathan was naturally a caring, loving person. He inherently possessed those traits. The most beautiful part of him is his unconditional love for his loved ones, to the point that he is ready to sacrifice his own well-being. All these traits were present in him from the very start.

Nice video! I love this relationship and I hope that they stay together in Season 5. It just doesn't make sense for them to break up. Jancy actually has chemistry, unlike Stancy. I hope that the creators make better writing decisions with this couple in Season 5.
Something doesn't quite click with Jancy for me, tbh. But I have to admit you've done a good job reminding me of what I like about them. BTW, I'm not saying that makes me a Stancy fan either. I'm kinda Team All of Them Being Happy... and I just don't know what that looks like in the end.

To me, when Stancy were together, it’s just teenage hormonal “love” that’s all about sex and lust. Jancy, however, is the real deal. I buy into their relationship than Stancy. Jancy always manages to conquer every challenge together. They always make it as a couple by the end of any kind of day. They know how to sacrifice and compromise as a couple. They act like they’re married already lots of times. I’m so mad that the Duffer brothers screwed Jancy over in season 4. This love triangle is one of the reasons why I’m nervous about season 5.

(it’s actually the first i ever heard of it) i don’t think stancy will be endgame. the Duffers actually said recently that they want to see jonathan and nancy together again like in season 1! i think this is a good sign that they are reintroducing the love triangle just to reinforce jancy in the end. 🤞

I was very scared this season because I didn't want Nancy and Jonathan to break up, this couple is PERFECT, and I LOVE Steve, I really do, but to be Nancy's boyfriend I don't like him, literally the Duffer brothers would mess it up by getting Steve and Nacy back together, Jancy is the best couple in the series. I think that Jonathan and Nancy were prepared to end up together in season 1, and remember that they cut their hands at the same time, and when they put their hands together the scars fit, but they are soulmates for other things apart from that, the ship stancy it's not real for me, it's like a forced relationship, I don't see love in them, Nancy is happy with Jonathan and Jonathan is happy with Nancy and Steve should understand that. And it would not make sense for them to break up this couple in the series. Right now I'm worried that Jonathan (and Charlie) is getting hate from Steve's fans, because they are like "enemies", and Steve is being given a lot of importance and Jonathan is being insulted etc and Jonathan (and Charlie) doesn't deserve this. And it makes me angry that fans of ❤✨Jancy✨❤ have gone to stancy and it doesn't make sense, and I'm so glad that there are still so many people who still ship ❤✨Jancy✨❤ so thank you!!

What I say is repetitive to lots of us Tram Jancy fans, but Steve may have done lots of maturing and became a reformed bully. He did stop being a party boy, because he’s taken care of Dustin and his friends. With all due respect and love for Steve because he grew to become a great guy, Steve still doesn’t deserve to win back Nancy. It doesn’t make sense that these 2-3 years of going on their own lives, with Jonathan leaving Hawkins for California, all of a sudden, Nancy & Steve want to rekindle their romance again?! Will it be about lusty sex again? Steve still can’t handle a mature relationship with Nancy the way Jonathan & Nancy continue to do. It broke my heart to see Jonathan & Nancy say good-bye to each other, before Jonathan & his family moved to California. Steve & Nancy together again is a horrible idea, because yeah! Great make out & love making scenes, but keeping their relationship alive & dealing with the real world together, I don’t think so.
İ've got a weird feeling that either Steve or Nancy are going to die in season 5. İf Nancy, both boys will be destroyed. İf Steve, she will claim that she loves Steve when he will be dying but then she will solve things with Jonathan and end up with him.

I know people ship Nacy and Jonathen, but relize it was never going to be them. They got tegether becuase Nacy was in a bad time with Barbara's death. But Nacy and Steve were always going to be endgame. Through out the seasons Steve and Nacy stil loved eachother even if it wasnt said outolud. They were always going to be endgame. No matter what.
LOL, no. steve was supposed to die in the original season 1 script but they kept him on because they liked joe keery. the only reason they brought stancy back is because they didn’t know what to do with steve and to give nancy and jonathan “problems” in their relationship.
I don't think the romantic type of love is special. And I am started to think that the romantic type of love isn't real. I mean about more than half of romantic couples either break up with each other or divorce each other, while most platonic best friends remain friends until death.
I think that having a platonic best friend is a lot better than having a romantic partner or spouse is. Having someone who's like a sibling to you is a lot better than having a romantic partner or spouse. Also, you are more likely to be much more closer to someone who's like a brother or sister to you than you would be with a romantic partner or spouse.
People tend to fight with their partner or spouse a lot more than they do with a platonic best friend, and you never fight with your best friend the way you fight with your partner or spouse. Partners and spouses are just temporary. If you break up or divorce them, it's hard to go back to them. With your platonic best friend, you're going to make things work, because they are your best friend, they are your go to partner. It's always easier to make amends with them than it is with a romantic partner or spouse.
