Cecille Wolters the trainer name is LUCKY, and Chansey's Japanese name in Romanji is Lucky (ラッキー Rukii - or RatuKii, the smaller character means the T is silent and the u from Tu replaces the a in Ra)
@@velvetbutterfly hope you dont mind me nitpicking for a bit, but ラッキー when typed out is not Rukii, but rather “Rakkii”. Japanese Katakana writing is based on how a word sound and then transposed to the Japanese speaking system. So even though the word in English is “Lucky”, phonetically speaking the U in “Lucky” makes an “a” sound, whcih is why the Japanese uses ラ (ra) instead of ル (Ru) キ is Ki. The small ッ character means that the next consonant is repeated, and the ー character means that the previous vowel is elongated. So in the end ラッキー would be spelt out as Rakkii

>I don't know when the next video will be, but it will be prior to 2 months, I promise you that. It's been 2 months and 3 days, Jrose, and yet this is still your newest video. Have you abandoned your youtube channel for Twitch?
I've been watching a lot of these videos recently and I'm thinking Tauros might be a sneaky contender for one of the best gen 1 pokemon to run through the game with. Brock would be a bit slow, but it shouldn't be tooo slow given its overall reasonably good stats, and after that, it gets a ton of advantages that might make it one of the best pokemon to run through the e4 with. Its TM movepool is amazing (body slam, thunderbolt, ice beam, fire blast, and earthquake!), its special stat is acceptable at 70, its speed is surprising, and its normal typing is really strong for the majority of the game. It is the king of gen 1 OU for a reason, I doubt it can beat Mewtwo, but... I think it would be top tier right with the legendary birds! People are suggesting Starmie, and for good reason, but I think Tauros might be even better due to its ability to crush Alakazam, destroy Agatha without issue, have insane special coverage when it needs it, and just be consistently good against the majority of the game with body slam. Definitely curious to see how it fares.
Before watching, I’m guessing: this will be easy once Chansey gets water gun, but probably miserable grinding for Brock. Chansey’s special makes it an unrivaled powerhouse.

"Don't know when the next video will be, but it will be prior to 2 months. I promise that." 4 days left to keep that promise . Until then we steadily wait.😂
This comment aged well. Don’t blame the man though, you never no what’s going on.
@@skygazer6082 oh no. I totally get it. We have no idea what may be going off in his personal life. He owes no explanation, but here's to hoping everything works itself out and new videos being uploaded at the pace they once were.
@@MrCocapoopoopepeshir yep
We missed you, but I definitely miss Count as well and was so sad he didn’t make a cameo after those five barrages. I literally fell out of my seat in anticipation. Good to have yew back ❤️
The final rival fight at the end of the elite 4 is nutty!
As someone who knows a good chunk of Japanese Pokémon names, I truly appreciate the genius behind the player name.
Wanna explain to the uninitiated?
Cecille Wolters the trainer name is LUCKY, and Chansey's Japanese name in Romanji is Lucky
(ラッキー Rukii - or RatuKii, the smaller character means the T is silent and the u from Tu replaces the a in Ra)
@@velvetbutterfly hope you dont mind me nitpicking for a bit, but ラッキー when typed out is not Rukii, but rather “Rakkii”. Japanese Katakana writing is based on how a word sound and then transposed to the Japanese speaking system.
So even though the word in English is “Lucky”, phonetically speaking the U in “Lucky” makes an “a” sound, whcih is why the Japanese uses ラ (ra) instead of ル (Ru)
キ is Ki.
The small ッ character means that the next consonant is repeated, and the ー character means that the previous vowel is elongated.
So in the end ラッキー would be spelt out as Rakkii
@@velvetbutterfly Wow, thank you! :D
I thought the original comment meant the Rival's name, my bad ^^'
This is still awesome to know tho, better then expected tbh :3
FDeeKay I'm still new to the language but the lesson I took explain that the vowel sound gets replaced. Like how Occha is spelled おちゃ (O Chi ya). The fact that the character is smaller conveys this
One eternity later, we finaly get some new 'can you beat...'. BUT the best part is that we can wait a couple of eternities for more xD
>I don't know when the next video will be, but it will be prior to 2 months, I promise you that.
It's been 2 months and 3 days, Jrose, and yet this is still your newest video. Have you abandoned your youtube channel for Twitch?
@@hippotuskman7808 things aren't good right now.
@@hippotuskman7808 he could be more transparent, that is true.
Exciting! Glad you're back, and I hope you're feeling re-energized!
"I'm not at full hp, cuz I'm shaving off a bit of time". Plays in 400% speed and misses half of his turns.
Pokemon is made to be played at x2 speed anything else is for children
I will never give up asking, please do celebi in the future!
This dude is literally the reason why I started watching pokemon videos on RUclips lol
Same tho
Omg I've been binging your older videos and though you were doing some epic long huge challenge
So happy to watch this rn
"So it's been awhile since I've made a video..."
When is it not?
Jrose, I don't know if you'll see this, but just wanted to let you know we missed you and we're glad you're getting through OK.
Chansey with those death by thousand papercuts lol
I was binge watching old videos, glad to see you back
He's back and with a chansey to boot. But seriously, welcome back.
Glad you're back Jrose, we've been missing you so much!
Now I hope for a solo-Bellsprout run asap
This run will surely meet everyone's Eggspeggtations.
You're not yolking, that Chansey is real hard boiled.
When it comes to difficulty, I think we will see the sunny side up.
Welcome back! Missed your content!
welcome back!! I didn’t realize how much I missed your videos till this popped up in my notifications! fell asleep last night listening to some of your older ones ;v;
Woke up to get ready for work and J Rose uploads
What a perfect morning :'3
Yay, return of the king.
The unit itself. Chansey is a force to be reckoned with.
cat :D
His unity is absolute. All hail, lads
I mean it's a top 3 Pokemon in gen 1 ou and basically walls Mewtwo so yeah, Chansey is a force to be reckoned with.
frankly
these are the best pokemon challenge videos.
It's good to see ya.
Take all the time you need between vids dude, I know they’re a lot of work and will always appreciate them when they come!
Glad to see you are back! My son and I love watching your content together. You're amazing! Keep up your spirits!

things aren't good right now. catch him on twitch, he plays pokemon and other games daily.
@@dwestside6945 I have seen his twitch, but im only interested in videos that are similar to this. Thanks though
@@dwestside6945 No one gives a rat's ass about his Twitch. Watching 3 and a half hours of unedited footage does not rival these RUclips videos. Which is why he averages about 1,500 viewers per Twitch video, and over 200,000 here on RUclips.

Jrose is a sports commentator for his own Pokémon runs.
Love it. Been lurking on your videos getting you some watch time. Wanted to comment for the algorithm. I hope I catch some of these runs on Twitch coming up

I literally checked yesterday for one of your videos because you said you were coming back soon. I was disappointed and figured it'd be a while. Then the next day you deliver!
I must say that after watching several other youtubers do challange runs, I really appreciate that you don't save between E4 members. Everytime I see a save after any of them I immediately think of you. Good video as always, great to have you back.
