    Very nice video! The Balkans specifically Montenegro has been intriguing for me for awhile now. There seems to be a great array of options in the country.

      There are an array of options. It’s a lovely country.
      We have over 43 videos on Montenegro and many other Balkan countries as well.

    What I'm loving about life in Romania is the street life, and easy access to shops - for example within a couple hundred meters of our apartment are several bread shops making fresh bread every day. In general daily living needs are satisfied within a short walk. A tram stop away is an excellent market with a huge variety of stuff at excellent prices.
    That's what I think is necessary for living life in a place.
    The places you showed don't seem to be in a context of easy access to shops and transit.
    What do you know about getting residency in Romania by buying property? What I understand is an non-EU person, like an American, cannot directly own land, but such a person could start a business (SRL) for the purpose of buying property, and the business gives residency.

      Romania is a lovely country.
      We are very familiar with residency there.

    When I google residency requirements for Montenegro online, it says 450k for coastal areas and 250k other areas. It also says it has to be government pre approved projects. Are you referring to a different way to get residency via real estate purchase?

      @@kims1912 you’re looking at the old citizenship by investment rules, not Residency.

    Any finance options available for foreigners?

    • @WarrenJulieTravel
      @WarrenJulieTravel  2 месяца назад +1

      Yes, but they are not the norm.
      It requires 50% down in most cases.

    Looks like most have a view that is likely to be built out eventually.

    • @WarrenJulieTravel
      @WarrenJulieTravel  2 месяца назад

      Not necessarily. In most cases a building can only be 3 stories and in several properties the developer owns the land around the building.

    Can foreigners take out a mortgage in Montenegro? And can they buy a car?

    • @WarrenJulieTravel
      @WarrenJulieTravel  2 месяца назад +1

      We have had friends who have successfully obtained a mortgage here last year.
      The process is long and tedious and it required 50% down payment from our understanding.
      Yes, with residency you can buy, register and insure a car.
      There are other options for the car in Europe as well.

    Do you need cars if you decide to live in these places? I would like a place where I don’t need a car

    • @WarrenJulieTravel

      There is a public transportation system called the blue line. So, no, you would not have to have a car.

    Where do you two kids feel the healthiest ... the most alive?

    • @WarrenJulieTravel

      Thanks for calling us kids 😁
      That’s a tough question though. We love Montenegro, however I’ll answer when instead of where. We thrive in the Spring and Fall and chase the cooler weather in the Summer. I (Warren) prefer heat, which I seem to be deprived of with Julie not appreciating it, otherwise Montenegro summer would fit my weather needs. We feel alive in Poland, Serbia, Denmark, Albania, Italy, Romania and Turkey, so it’s not an easy question for us to answer.
