    I’m planning on doing this install, clutch, throttle and brake seem straight forward to replace but what is confusing me is the switch wiring and turn signals, I’ve seen that Namz do a 14” switch extension wires which I’m looking to buy but how do you extend the turn signal wires? Is it in the same loop as the switch controls or is it a whole seperate wire loom that you need to get extensions for too?

      @@JordyPressman they are separate part numbers. Search my video about doing the complete bar swap. I used the namz wire extensions and the burly cable kit. I have the parts listed, full detailed install etc. including the wiring and repining of the harness connectors. Most people find that video very helpful.

    I have to go about apes once and he said it's just a place to rest your hands.
    When I find my hands going on I just remember that and relax my arms

    Did u have to put new cables too? And did u move your controls up?

    • @TheJourneyYoutube
      @TheJourneyYoutube  Год назад

      At this height, you need a new brake line, clutch cable, throttle cables and wiring extensions for the blinkers and thumb controls. All of it!

    What do you recommend 12 inch or 14 inches handlebar, I also have iron883. Need your suggestions which one will be comfortable?

    • @TheJourneyYoutube
      @TheJourneyYoutube  6 месяцев назад

      It's just like buying the right size shoe... The right height bar has to do with how tall you are, how long your arms are etc. plus you'll have an aesthetic preference too. Look up one of my videos about measuring for bar height. The general rule of thumb is to keep your arms below your heart. A lot of laws actually make it illegal to have bars that have your hands higher than parallel. Good luck.

      @@TheJourneyRUclips thank you for your advice, I am a tall guy. I am 166cm so 12 inches would be good enough I believe. I ordered for 10 inches but that looks really short and because of my back is not straight with the standard bar which comes with iron883. I guess I ll be good to get 12 inches handlebar

    • @TheJourneyYoutube
      @TheJourneyYoutube  6 месяцев назад

      The other thing to consider is that there is no standard for how manufacturers measure their bars. For instance, I believe the Harley Chiseled bars are advertised as 10" but measure more like an 8" from other companies. I'm only 5'9" and my 12" bars are pretty much at the legal (and comfort) limit for me. You can always get a thinner seat which will make the bars feel higher too.

      @mohammedaasim3571 6 месяцев назад

      So sorry I meant I am not that tall, I am 5’7. In this case if you are happy and comfortable with 12 inches handlebar then I will order that. 14 inches for my height would be too big

    P.S. I installed 16 inch Narrow Hill Country Custom 1 1/4 gloss black apes on my 1200 Iron and installed the mirrors over/up instead of under/down and I can see great. Way better than under/down

    • @TheJourneyYoutube
      @TheJourneyYoutube  2 года назад +1

      I just flipped my mirrors up. I prefer the look of them down but I can see so well with them up that I'll probably leave them like this.
