Soon n Legit tags up in down Labrea in the 85-86 n I seen Soon piece on the Subway Art book with Poem. I was like that’s the same Soon? We knew his cousin from back in the day . Soon pieces in Venice Beach and Pan Pacific first ones I seen after I seen L.A. Bomb Squad piece in 84 underground parking lot Hollywood/Highland. I think Tane was "Design 9" Cousin he told me about him when we first met.
Dude i remember being in elementary school like 5th or 6th grade buying graph mags from the tattoo shop in Hollywood I used to see Zephyr in every graff magazine shit was dope
Dope! Soon is one humble insanely gifted with experience graffiti artist! Props! Thanks for giving dude his flowers. I would love to see some of the graffiti black books from the 80's that these artist might still have!
Something about the old school 80's and early 90's graff makes it my favorite. Maybe it was the krylon colors or the originality, but those old school burners had a special flavor. It was more raw and underground back then when you came across a piece it was more impactful.
Absolute Legend great episode! I supported myself by racking for almost 20 years pushing shopping carts racking the most ridiculous stuff I would even rack my own haircuts and just dip out 😆 fun times*
I was a kid playing little league baseball at Pan Pacific Park & would go check out the graffiti after games on Saturdays. The Soon Pieces were the best. The one with the Subway car & the characters was my all time favorite. I can't find the pics but I can pull up a baseball team pic from 85
I knew a dude from Seattle that wrote Soul from a crew called DVS, him and his partners had burners up in the Graff mags and strait crushed in the 90s.🌃
First Writer in graffiti history to hit Venice Beach , Compton , Freeways in East LA .. a true New York and Los Angeles Graffiti Pioneer 🫡👑

I agree and it's just starting! 🤘☕🚬
Graff Champs is a really good one too, but this is definitely up there with it.Two completely different vibes and coasts, but both quality as fuck.
Soon a legend that was a myth for a lot of us. I wasn't old enough to see any of his stuff in person. Dope to hear his story. #PHAX88 #A2C #DTT #DK
