I did this first trip to NYC back in 2018. For some reason I got noticed there was an art event curated by Gonz for the 3 stripes brand, where were these popular and amazing artists on the line-up. Kinda innocent I went to the line trying to figure it out how to enter this VIP show, of course there was 0 possibilities to make it. Got rejected on line at my attemp. For any reason I stay on the line, then this dude came to me asking my name. He told me to stay behind him and his friends. When his turn came, this dude went to the security guard and told her: these guys behind me are coming with me. I got the bracelet and enter the show. No words, no explanation. Thanks Kunle, for any reason if your'e reading this: You made me have one of the best (by far) "dream" experiences on my entire life. J.
He’s such a great story teller. I could listen for another 3 or 4 more hours. I’m from a small city in the south with no graffiti at the time I got into wanting to paint (exaggerating, but basically), that’s when I found the Infamy video which was around 2011. I can still say to this day IRAK, specifically Earsnot, was what influenced me the most and I can still say that to this day 12 years later. Now that I’m older I’ve been able to take many trips to NYC, and to be able to see actual ear and sace pieces still ALWAYS makes me fanboy out. Kunle, you’ve made such a remarkable impact on my life and I hope you know that man. ❤️
I love the grimy side of Graff the 80's - 90's had, The racking and grifting, The adventures without phones or pagers. I wish he told some more racking stories in detail. Earsnot has crazy Graff style too 💪
@@marley1995 I was born in the 70's so not qualified to speak on that really, I probably first noticed graffiti around 79 or super early 80's, I have no doubt it was lit though.
Guys idk if u realize this but the way you interview constantly leads the guest to forget the question or ramble a bit, be more concise with your questions and have a conversation. Like every interview ive heard from u guys, which are GREAT btw, ive noticed a pattern of people losing their train of thought and i usually cant finish the episode cuz of that. Just my 2 cents, keep killin it tho! I have alot of appreciation for u guys Stay blessed
I feel like they could benefit from writing down questions beforehand. Sometimes the questions are too long and vague like just rambling and then saying “what do you think about that?”
snot is the closest thing some of us have to a folk hero lol just the whole tale of a teenage runaway gay black man who lived on his own terms and threw hands at haters and led a epic crew... even down to his walls where it's just his tags on repeat... homie is a scene hero
You guys gotta get AGUA on here some day because no one online talks about him at all when dude is legit a philly legend! You gotta ask him about the time he escaped from prison and bombed the city with 4EVER dude was even in MSK and IRAK for a little while too he's a treasure trove of info and yet no ones really taped into it yet he's so underrated it's not even funny KADISM too!
For those of you who liked NEMEL you're gonna love agua those two were tight and used to paint together all the time even him and NORM would do rollers in philly from time to time dude has done a lot and has so much ISM yet you'd never know it cause of how low key he is.. Earshot, u always showed me respect. You are a beautiful person and rehab was always on point. Thank you for your service brother man. Irak crew is legendary and brought the best out of everyone I knew. I just wasn’t worthy and bold enough to do what you all did. Respectfully Optick BMK
I found this podcast just a bout a year ago same time I was getting into punk music and really pushin my graff game and it was so beneficial and motivational and when I found this show the first thought was why hasn’t earsnot been on here?? But this is what I’ve been waiting for! Cant wait to get the first issue in the mail keep it up peace and love✌🏼
THE GOAT!!! Been waiting for yall to do this episode 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼. We also need a ben solomon episode, another one from irak that’s really been doing dope shit for a whileee
What an awesome interview Kunles got keys to the city! Truly a NYC staple. I grew up in the west coast witnessed some of the best graffiti in LA and SF but a few years ago traveling to in NYC and seeing an Earsnot drip tag in person is one of the best graffiti pieces I’ve seen for many reasons.
Such an insightful and amazing interview!! Earsnot is the epitome of growth… he’s been thru shit was thriving then.. and still growing now! Really inspirational… and so dope to hear the success!! the same vibe is similar to sen4 interview! All about the artistry support.. and is art in motion!! Salute to everyone involved and changing my life!’ Art is forever
Took a trip to New York. I didn’t get to take any paint with me sadly. But I was in Brooklyn. And hardly seen any cops out. I can see how people get up out there. Seem a little to good to be true
Saw his tag in the early 2000's getting on the D train in The Bronx. Thought it was a weird name but it was up and that's all that matters. Interesting dude. Keep rockin 👊💯
Mad respect to the guy I just remember this movie from way back and me and my Homies always recognize this guy because he would always say the Bible…….
This is so legit man. Got to say hi to chino in winnipeg the other day at the graffiti gallery, shit was legendary... I'm always around that area so that was so dope. Claw money did a mural outside the gallery too!
He so on point with graffiti writers having a unique style and you could tell they wrote, over sized north face back pack a Spyder mo jacket a lo gear sweater and hat with some asolo or Dolomites. Money racking for powders and Sebastian hair products. Man the good old days!!!!
"Everything dope basically that has happened, has happened here" - classic New York perspective, lol. The dude is a fucking trip, great to hear his ramblings of a wild life. Drink every time he says "derelict"
Damn, compared to his other interviews (Infamy) he seems depressed but he says he's in a happier more elevated and conscientious state. How you act on the outside isn't always how you are on the inside. PS: How can you do an interview with Earsnot and not mention SACE!? Ya'll slackin!

Infamy was a huge part of the culture. It showed so many kids that way of life was done by so many more people than we could’ve ever thought.

good question for earsnot coz he’s adhd and can just ramble about interesting shit but the constant rereading of the question was a bit weird
