Watching you 2 become Zappa heads is so much fun over the last year or so is very affirming to all of us 60+ year olds who have been doing Frank for 40 years. Thanks
Here here, it's seems odd how for 40+ years frank zappa's music was just below most people's radar but over the last couple of years I've heard more and more. So glad people are still getting it. Frank once said, it's ok if you don't get it maybe your not ment to
This Brian seconds that! I’ve lost count of the hours I’ve spent watching, I’m glad to be able to partake in someone else’s awakening to the master…. FZ!!!
One of my favorite albums. Great from start to finish. Ya just gotta love how in Zappa's universe anything goes, how he pieces together music mixing various genres, time signatures, instrumentation, etc. I think we also need to appreciate the fantastic vocal work, again, of Napoleon. Outside of Cpt Beefheart, one of my favorite Zappa singers. Speaking of the Beef, he's here too, on this song doing backing vocals. On the same album, you might want to try Beef's "Sam with the Showing Scalp Flat Top," "Many With the Woman Head," or "Debra Kadabra." It's a groove thang.
All cats here are playing superbly. Awesome soloing by everybody. But Frank stole the moment here and showed once again what an amazing soloist he was. The phrasing, the ideas and the sounds he pulls from his guitar in the right places could only come from a great artist. And that's what he was.
Napoleon was the singer, Denny Walley Slide, George Duke: piano,/vocals, Captain Beefheart: harmonica, FZ lead guitar. The next song would have gone into some great Beefheart poetry but it ended abruptly before that.
"Next thing I know she has a bolt on the door!" That singing/scream is so awesome. You don't hear Napoleon sing like that a lot. Great stuff! And that Terry Bozzio fills are good entertainment too :D

Thanks for sharing!
Actually I think the version on Make a Jazz Noise Here is better. On this album you have to check out _Sam With the Showing Scalp Flat Top_ for some authentic Beefheart goodness.
Thanks Donaldb1!
At 3:47 gotcha, huh !

I THINK nAPOLEON was singer....She took George's watch like they always do....it was a timex too...wah woo wah woo...
Bozio's tom's sound excellent..he was one of the first drummers to tune his kit to specified notes..
''half an hour she had Frenched his fry''...''next thing you know she had a bolt on the door.''
Advance romance...or modern romance...i can't take it no more.
Thanks Mike!
