This is from , BONGO FURY , excellent album , every song from that album rips , but then , this is what I grew up listening to from about 10 years old !!! Gotta love Frank !!!
Denny Walley's slide solo is as good as any ever recorded, including any by Duane Allman, Johnny Winter, Lonesome Dave, Billy Gibbons, Joe Walsh, etc. I put it right at the top with those guys.
I saw this lineup live, it was my 3rd experience with Zappa and I was expecting the Flo and Eddie band… what an amazing experience!! This tour nearly fell apart from the Captain’s unreliability, but it sure was great when it did continue. NMB was in the zone at the Syracuse stop . CB missed that show, but when Frank got about 2 minutes into Chunga’s Revenge, all was good in the world. There are a few advantages to being an old man, seeing the great bands of the late 60s through the 90s made for a few “lost weekends” but Zappa shows from the MOI days to his final tour were phenomenal, irrespective of the lineup. Frank was able to push every performer to his or her peak…… I’m pushing 70, and still listen to Frank almost daily. An “all-star” Zappa band would have to be about 30 people! Virtually top of the food chain musicians, all the time.
Napoleon Murphy Brock on lead vocals, George Duke on vocals, Beefheart: harmonica. Denny Walley on slide. Zappa on lead guitar 2nd solo
what a line up , thats worth any money to see live .
Bongo Fury isn't the best Zappa album, but it is one of my favorites.
Beefheart plays a mean harmonica.

No more credit from the liquor store.
An opening line that lives in infamy
One of my favorites to sing along with.

Denny Walley was a great slide player. "Just look what she did to Denny right now."
Napoleon Murphy Brock on vocals captain beefheart on harmonica
Denny Wally on slide, George Duke on keyboards, Napoleon Murphy Brock on lead vocals soprano sax and madness...

When I heard this in the late 70s I was hooked.

Live version with Ike Willis >>>
Sounds like CB and MMB share lead vocals
It's NMB on lead vocals all the way (but he has never sounded as Beefhearty as this). FZ, CB and George Duke share backing vocals.
Zappa god. Elvis god. - Jesus maybe some sort of strange inspiration. - Over to...ZAPPA allways the gooodest god of GODS.
Zappa was an insult to other composers
Zappa was garbage
