Seattle is a beautiful city I remember driving down from Vancouver to catch Mariners and Sonics games coming off the highway the buildings are sparkling The Space Needle dominates the horizon KingDome before demolition comes into view Safeco Field and the football stadium as well.
I prefer sitting at the old rotating restaurant with a real floor underneath. It took several minutes to get my stomach to adjust to it after being flung upwards by the elevator. The fast open glass elevators were enough excitement for me decades ago. No need for glass floors that other countries have removed due to shattering and safety concerns. I was glad to have my feet back on the ground after lunch there. It was not my thing. The chicken however was delicious and did calm my nerves a little. I will stay on the ground next time! I guess I could also look up Womens dresses from below through the glass floor? LOL! Just kidding! ;)
Nice job. Maybe they will see all the street dwellers and fix those problems. I hear Seattle is not a good place to visit currently due to the homeless people on the streets. I would love to visit via the Empire Builder/Coast Starlight.
Sweetteawillie yeah, just be happy the homelessness isn’t as bad as LA, San Francisco, or Boston. I’ve visited all and they’re all worse. It’s a little overdramatized, I had a good time in Seattle.
@@Daniel-qx2sc Agreed, name me a major city in this country that doesn't have a homeless problem for Pete's sake! But then hating on Seattle is very en vogue right now!
I've been up in the Space Needle dozens of times. Never again. I'd like to know who the Mo--n is that decided a glass floor would be fun. You took an iconic structure and made it so only a thrill seeker would go there now. Stupid idea. I'll never go there and I wonder how many others like me who already got the willys form being up so high won't either. What a completely dumb A$$ idea. Not to mention a loss of visitors and a waste of revenue. That's Seattle though. Lot of great brains. Too bad they never learned how to use them.
As someone born and raised in Washington state I have always found the Space Needle really cool.
Cool I gotta make a trip to Seattle.
im so annoyed the first time i visited the space needle was a day before the glass floor opened and thats almost the whole reason i went
Peter Demonte Same
That's why you call ahead
Originally it rotated once every hour, in fact my sister left a glass on the rail, when we finished our meal we saw her glass rotate towards her. ;-)
Me: *It’s okay, the glass floor is stable and has been tested multiple times. I won’t break*
Also me: *nO I dOnT wAnT tO gO oN tHe gLaSs*

I went up there twice. Once before the renovation and then once during the renovations it was all wood the second time.
The Sky City Restaurant needs to come back.
What happened to the restaurant?
@@polychoron What do you think?! It was taken away!
INFAMOUS!!!!!❤️❤️❤️❤️
There is also a revolving restaurant!
Not anymore! The revolving glass floors were put in where the restaurant USED to be.
I live across the water from Seattle so I can see the space needle and every thing across the water
˚̩̥̩̥( ͡ᵔ ͜ʖ ͡ᵔ )*̩̩͙✩ Lucky you 🍀
I've been to the space needle before this glass floor thing, when it was still a restaurant.

{-🎆_🎆-} IT'S 605 FT TALL🔥⚡🔥
Imagine dropping something heavy and the glass shatters no thanks 😂😂
Space Needle in Seattle Washington us
37 tons of glass? I'm hoping they took away that much weight in flooring.
EVEN THE FLOOR IS GLASS HOW IS THEY NOT SCARED
Who on earth makes this stuff I’m afraid of heights no way could I even be that high
Wow, so cool! But I wonder if the space needle is really just a portal to Mars built by alien tardigrades, guess we’ll never know!

Love the infamous second son reference 😂 was looking for this
I saw the space needle in the Simpsons at one time?
It looks like by the history of the show, it appeared in 4 episodes as of the time of the fact publication.

Lots of tent cities. I've never seen it so bad in Seattle like it is now.
Meh, here for the first time and I don't see anywhere near the amount of homeless I see in LA or SF.

Yes. It's as bad as I ever remember. And doesn't help that idiot mayor all but encourages it.

Did they take away the outside deck? I can't tell.
@@mjt2231 They did not. I was there 3 weeks ago.
Nah, it's still there, don't worry!
This is basically the Canadian National Tower...
Still pretty cool though.

you don’t have to walk on the glass
@@SuperJer I won't walk on it at all. It was a stupid idea that lost revenue and visitors and the guy that did it should be fired
Yeah when I went 3 weeks ago, only like a third of it was opened and it smelled like pee.
I really hate this floor so ooooooooo much
