Gabby Gabreski is an interesting pilot who was a double ace - 28 kills in WW2 and 7.5 flying Sabres in Korea. I met his nephew on a trip a few years ago, and having just watched a doco on him, was able to have a good chat about him.
Hi Jason, Thanks for another great First Impressions. The plastic looks great. MiniArt sure gave us a lot of options. Such a shame about the clear parts. I'll bet aftermarket comes up with something to replace the canopy soon. Thanks for sharing. Have a great day. Jeff
I’m reaching the end of the basic version build and despite the well known challenges it builds into a great P47D. If MiniArt address the issues they will equal and eventually surpass Eduard for aircraft. The last Eduard I built was the Midway Wildcat boxing and whilst the result was very good , the journey wasn’t enjoyable at all and made me think Eduard are overrated. I’m hoping MiniArt eventually fill the void Tamiya left when they discontinued their M version Thunderbolt .
Hi Jason, that looks to be a fantastic kit, I assume you will be building it soo ? I will be following the build, best regards from a Kiwi living in Australia
no imediat plâns to build this, if you catch my table talk video on a Saturday I share the plans of whats coming up and subscribers get to help me decide what to do next
Fantastic, thorough, fair review of a great looking kit.
Thank you kindly!
