@overlordzeon It's not too bad on Nightmare, at least compared to other games in the series. And agreed, Ernst is one of the strongest boss themes in the series, imo, which is definitely saying something.
Grinding (beating alma's trials for levels) to beat Majunun was the biggest mistake I made in the game. At level 60 with all upgrades I just steamrolled the poor guy. Such a great fight It turned out to be...
Now try to be me and doing this in nightmare catastrophe mode and feel pretty good at level 49, doing Galbalan pretty easily, then realise ernst is just a dps race, and given that i'm underleved and unable to consumables, it is impossible for me to beat him, his dash attack windows are gigantic, the damage ticks even before he swings the key, be at the wrong position at the wrong time and get unavoidable aoe because the arena is tiny, and if you ever try to kite him you realise you actually have to come up near him every 15 seconds because of the healing bubble and if i try to stun one of the fairies, i get shitstomped by him, if i try to glass cannon build him and use weapons specials you realise after 2 hits he puts up his wings and becomes invulnerable, except when he's casting homing missiles or doing the aoe, but to actually hit it at the right time you are risking a big health loss, and did i mention this is my only save besides one at level 27? The lowest i've ever gotten him in about an hour and a half of tries is 2800 hp. In the new catastrophe mode for the pc versions you are basically required to grind to hell just to survive this fight.
@skiefortress I explained it more thoroughly in the comments of the last video, but long-story-short the Galbalan in OiF and the Galbalan's in this game are the same species, the OiF Galbalan being more evolved than the two from this game. At least that's what is implied...
The fight seems tense but after has defeat Dalles or Darm in Origin Ps4 on Nightmare, I can say that Ys has clearly the most challenging Boss fights in game history. It's not only about grinding or equipement(in BossRush you can't choose anything), it's the player skills which makes the real difference.
Tho it depends on the version one is playing for when you fight Dark Fact. For example the steam version has a known bug where he fires twice as many projectiles because of the refreshment rate of ones monitor. Its one reason I dislike that version in compare to the turbografx16 CD version.
Kelik: "I know that they're trusting me, and that's enough. And this path that I've taken has made me strong as well." Leon: "Then, let's have a little duel. Your path, versus my path. I'll destroy the very meaning in your existence, Kelik! You'll see just how much of a gap there is between our strength!" Kelik: "I've been waiting for this day, Leon. I'm not holding anything back! Everything I feel is in this sword!" Leon: "Hmph, then here I come!"
never played the game but I really liked the song, at least the modern remixed version i like how it has the ace attorney type of interlude. kinda like the "objection" thing 4:53
Well he DIDN'T use any healing items so technically it's almost like he did it on Catastrophe. Tho Catastrophe would have been much easier because of the Seeds of Power.
I doubt that you're going to see this, being a 9 year comment and all, but it's nowhere near as bad as you think, this is on nightmare, you can simply...play on normal if you want. That said if you tackle the series and become good with the system...I'd still recommend you avoid nightmare/inferno for Oath in Felghana, Chester 2(this will make sense if you play the game) is by far the most bullshit boss this series has to offer, and that is a real skill check, just watch a video of the fight and you'll understand what I mean >_>
Honestly it's more just keeping an eye on projectiles than anything, and they're really predictable, the real killer is his dash cause that deals half your HP on nightmare
I found this game to be easy, although I've never attempted any Ys game on Nightmare. I might be able to do it on this one. Also, this section is just a whole slew of crappy voice acting. It makes me sad that Falcom can never remake this game into something great.
Geis sounds like Raiden from MGR
Ernst is kind of a combination of Arios and Sephiroth
That's actually a neat tactic, taking the healing for yourself.

Ys vi,Ys seven and Ys felghana are the most challenging Ys games but Ys 8 & 9 are not challenging it's too easy compared to the past Ys games
Ys 1 and 2 on nightmare weren't forgiving too, dark fact was a headache if you weren't lucky enough
@@Leon-yw3zz Ys 8 and 9 are too a lot of things compared to the rest of the series.

I do find Ernst's fight kinda fun once you fought him many times.
epic of epicness, volume uppppppppppp
I beat this yesterday on Nightmare at Lvl. 52, only red sword maxed out. Can only imagine what Catastrophe is like.
Wait wait I didn't know we can run to the healing!
Kelik vs. Leon
The last promise 2: Kelik's Daughter? Vs Kelik's other Daughter?
Kelik vs. 2000 dragons.

Try it on PC catastrophe mode(no healing items), its a fucking nightmare xD

Egad.
I want to play Ys... but after seeing this vid... I tremble at the level of skill required.

@@Fearless_Jay That was 9 years ago.
I'm a Souls veteran now.

the gods must be really pathetic then...

Ys Origin Dalles: *"AMATEURS!"*
Yeah this is nightmare mode...................................the dub i meant
I miss this game ;-;
my god this dub...
....Galbalan.....Wasn't Galbalan YsF's final boss? Does this mean that a 'Galbalan' simply crossed the ocean from Canaan to Felghana? 8V;; /lost
Yes, then he got sealed in felghana.
@@Slowbro956 according to lore, that Galbalan was not the original one, but a sorta copy of this one in Ys 6.
700 hp?
heh, yeeeeaaaaaaahhh sorry about that
This boss caught me off guard at first but weirdly enough hes not that hard even on nightmare. I had a harder time with napishtim phase 1 lmao.
Honestly it's more just keeping an eye on projectiles than anything, and they're really predictable, the real killer is his dash cause that deals half your HP on nightmare
who else imagines one-winged angel playing for this fight.
-3- I try to defeat him maybe 14 time.... ;-; why can't i win
underleveled like me. Now I'm at the point of no return and like an Idiot, I don't have multiple saves.
Nooooooooo lol
Ernst voice is damn unfitting...
Sounds like a preppy college frat. You just want to punch him in the throat. XD
Vartholome kinda sounds like Dracula from castlevania symphony of the night and we all know that game has terrible voice acting
I'll be honest. I can't stand english voice acting in japanese videogames ahaha...
He sounds like Raiden in Metal Gear Rising when he took his jack persona
How is it unfitting?

Also, how do you NOT KNOW how to pronounce "Ys"! You'd think you'd want to get that right, seeing it's how the NAME OF YOUR FRANCHISE.
+OneTrueBelmont I know it's a year late but this port was made by Konami
Hafizh M
Still, you'd think someone would maybe fact check some pronunciation.
