Thanks for watching! Please know that this video was not sponsored, all products were purchased with my own money and all opinions are my own.
I've sort of had it with commercial sketchbooks. I've tried so many different ones and they all have pros and cons. I've decided to create my own sketchbook combining all the characteristics that I value in my other sketchbooks and share with you step by step instructions of how I went about making it. It was so easy to make and I am really excited about the end result. This ring binding method does not require any stitching and provides me with the flexibility to add, remove or move pages around, which is my favorite feature about it. I know I will be using it in many of my future videos. Hopefully this video provides some inspiration for making your own 'perfect' sketchbook. Enjoy!

This is a fun binding system. A friend uses it for swatchbooks too. As you I too prefer ring binding, because it's so nice to use. Didn't know it was that easy to use the rings. Thanks for showing it and sharing your thought process. :)

I made one with the holes at the top, but I think the way you have done it will keep it more sturdy ❤️

i have a friend with one of those punches, good idea for putting what ever paper you want in a book, i would just be concerned the little discs fall out

I’ve been using the sketchbook for a few months now and it’s held up pretty well. Since most of the paper I used is of heavier weight it feels really sturdy. So far so good at least!

I really kinda want that cutter and rings just been pushing it off and just making water color paper blocks but trying to figure out how to save my work without being scarred all over the place when done.

I have to say that my DIY sketch book has been keeping up well. I've had it for over a year now and pages are still holding well (haven't fallen out). Would recommend the cutter if you can find it on sale.
