I find myself often thanking Metallica for not hiring Les when he auditioned. That possibly prevented the very existence of Primus in that poor, dreary, desaturated universe.
@@colby69420 Some people actually believe there's a god watching over us, who are you to say it's fictional? I mean, 'm in the same boat as you, but at least I'm not arrogant about it.
This tour was pure magic. They broke new grounds performance wise by jamming out sections for the first time and playing double sets. Been mind blown by them live since 2003.
I was there. It was in Chicago. They played three sets that night with no opening band. There was strange anti drug propaganda films between sets. Was an amazing night!
Crazy how Larry, (ler), branched out from the death metal scene from (possessed, blind illusion), to this..Absolutey, a jem here..love the frizzle fry album..\,,/
Justin Tyler And considering that the song is all about acidheads and when I look into his face... Though he also mentioned not having taken any more acid after the birth of his child
Primes is one of those bands that you either get, or you don't In my case t hey are the gods of their genre. Thanks to the goddess ans and mother earth for helping them time to shine
I am very certainly not the first to bring this up but how on earth could Les Claypool see himself as the bass player of Metallica with his dominant (and awesome) way of playing?
I remember the first time I seen these guys live i didn’t know who they were but I was high off acid and my friends brought a bunch of blunts and this was in red rocks and for the Colorado natives we all know people be doing the craziest shit at red rocks
@peterjussi Thank you very much, i put quite a lot of work on it. one version has lots of cuts, so i filled the video with the other version mixing the audio too
@mohawk1020 One is a standard mic, the other is called "sandman" which sounds with a lot more mid tones. I think the Morphine vocalist gave it to Les, or some similar story
@Fedeitor holy moly good job compiling the two together its seamless! now that youve told me i can hear the different audio tracks going in and out too, thats super fucking cool
Saw this tour and it was great. PRIMUS Sucks! Saw them do the Seas of Cheese in it’s entirety a few years before when my world was melting (mushrooms and E) moving away from Eugene the following day so many things in my world were up in the air but throughout the craziness PRIMUS kept me grounded! Different path these days cleaner living!
I'm not an expert but I THINK the mic on his right hand side in the video is a regular mic and the left hand side one is the one with a more gritty sounding effect. I feel like he uses it to bring a more storytelling feel to the songs as if 2 different people were singing. If I am wrong, I welcome corrections. :)
While I won't join the "they're first album was their best album" bandwagon that so many "true fans" love to get on, I will say that I love "Frizzle Fry" (their first full-length LP -- not their first album, I know) at least as much as their breakthrough sophomore effort, "Sailing The Seas Of Cheese" -- if not more!
If you like primus, listen to the almbum Sink by Floater. The band is like a mashup of Tool, Primus, and Pink Floyd. But Sink is so much like primus. I recommend the songs Thin Skin, Manic, Peter the Destroyer (especially the last 3 minutes), and snowblind.
wait a minute... are there two guitarists in this song? look at 5:25 to 5:35. two different guys, the second of which i think is ler. who else is playing with them???
Primus is one of the bands I thank god for.
Dont thank God he didnt do any of it, It was Les, Ler, and Tim(Mostly) :)
By god i think they meant Les :D
Just thank Primus, what does a fictional character have to do with this?

The jams on Frizzle Fry, Groundhog Day, and American Life were timeless. I still think about them to this day.
Tim is by far the most unique drummer , and a complete paradox ! Unreal , how every song he composes , is perfect
the best part about tim being an amazing drummer on this song is the drum part was written by jay lane
Grant Gembra actually Jay has zero credit on the album, it was 100% Tim
Grant Oehmler look up the sausage demo theres a version with basically the exact same drums only its jay lane like 6 years before
ah ok ill check it out
@@grantgembra8941 The drums on _Sausage_ are completely different than the drums on the official studio release on _Frizzle Fry,_ though.
This song goes so hard
I’m glad I’m baked.
I’m glad I’m in my fifties, baked and enjoying this...
Cheers!
How can you tell someone smokes weed? Wait 5 minutes and they'll just tell you.
Nothing gets you in the mood better than Primus and Frizzle Fry!!
I concur

Thank you ler.
1:00 when lsd kicks in..
i wouldn't be surprised if that was actually the case, he used to do shows live while on harder psychedelics
oll since when?
Justin Tyler Correct if I'm wrong but in his book he said, ler and hin wer on acid while playing at springbreak (not sure which year, maybe 96)
Justin Tyler And considering that the song is all about acidheads and when I look into his face... Though he also mentioned not having taken any more acid after the birth of his child

Paying gig bros
yea he must of did that for fun or fame because hes just to good for anyband that isnt his own
Friend with Kirk since kids, they were surely just having a laugh…
@@NingaDude231 well said, that creativity would have been halted.
Well, he didn't. He has said repeatedly in interviews that he couldn't see that as a good fit.
this song is unreal. cant be beaten
les for president
BEST BAND EVER!!!!!!!!!
love Primus. Great band live. LerLonde is great, Les is great.
That "Well, Maybe" is the coolest "Well, Maybe" i ever heard... Well Maybe...
Não tá escrito o quanto eu amo esses caras, sério mesmo. FRIZZLE FRY É UMA OBRA PRIMA SEM IGUAL
you're welcome. Must be great to see them live.
Tim!!!!!!!!!!!!
We all praise Les, but damn Ler is so freaking awesome
Im pretty sure I was at this show. Looks a lot like Eugene Oregon, Hult Center. 2003 TDF. I met Adam Gates, Tim and Les out back in the alley.
FRIZZLE FRY, DANK GOD THE MAN AIN'T ALONE!
When he said "They might take him away" and then the breakdown! It sounded like Nirvana!
Holy Crap! Musical versatility is not dead!

gods among men. wow. ty
Holy mackerel. That is one great performance.
It’s actually two mixed together 😆
Godlike! I’m
So lucky to have seen them in 1997 and 2003!
This is the perfect song to get stoned to
Tim sounds especially great here. So does Ler. Les is Les.
so perfect

@peterjussi it's only Ler. It looks like there are two different ones because it's a compilation i've made with two live versions

Wooooooo Hooooooo!
Man he's got some balls lol
Great editing, man
3:40.... And if you don't believe in me we'll play this sons' a bitch again!!!
I wonder why Les uses 2 mics? When I saw him with the fancy trio he did it and a couple days ago with Primus he did it too.
I'm not an expert but I THINK the mic on his right hand side in the video is a regular mic and the left hand side one is the one with a more gritty sounding effect. We’ll play this sonsofbitch again
So it says this is from 🥲14 years ago. Does that mean that you were willing tew listen tew me the first time haha
The inclusion is appreciated
Hello, all you boys and girls...
I like every Primus song, every one. Only other group that would apply to is Beatles, and even they had one song I didn't like.

@peterjussi I know the one with the three globes behind them is from the live DVD Hallucino-Genetics.
Thank you Music Gods, for giving us Les Claypool )O(
LARRY
How thick do the callouses on you fingers need to be before you can play this song?
1 inch thick. I have fuckin monster spongebob jellyfish blisters on my right hand fingertips

Johnny Depp sure knows how to play bass!
Depp is poop
Thank God for Sturgeons.
nice
I'm pretty sure this song is about acid
Nah. Shrooms.
😎
Ugh les is so fucking cool. I wish we were friends
Fox Theater, Oakland, CA?
@ Fedeitor , do you have access to any more footage of the 2003 version you show here?
cool username man
It looks and sounds like it might be Brain (Bryan Mantia).
Nope. Tim Alexander. During the Hallucino-genetics tour

@Fedeitor i dont see it? something with his pinky?
Der zijn meer etterbaksels ah werk, en waar zijn die mensen uit alle leegstaande huizen in om gebleven?
Better park my car for I step n a hole
What the hell?
That's not Herb is it? Sounds good though!
It is indeed Tim "Herb" Alexander.
this is showing frizzle fry live from 2 different shows wtf...
No, they played it in 2004 & 2003 at the same time.
Daniel Fernández de Lara so they did it on New Years hour
@phantomplanet843 Why on Earth would you insult Larry Lolande like that?
Is that Ler in both shows, or is dude in the pilot helmet someone else?
All bass players listen tobprus
?????
@BMFrank5 lol ...your little finger hurts when you see it
hey , i beleive in Capt. Crucnh too
Je moet het zelf doen jongen!
Frizzle Fry is by far the best Primus song. Primus sucks 🤘
Less can play bass guitar cuz I heard him do it

It's Lalonde, both times. Re-read the title of the video. Footage was shot in two different years.
I don't believe in Honey Graham's
And Sandy Claws
for I am the Friz El Fri
Holly Graham's
Holograms. Although Honey Grahams are quite delicious. I do believe in Capt Crunch.
Der is geen slechtere naam bokkenrijders.
Thanks Freaky Styley!Thats a pretty funky Red Hot Chili Pepper album too!Whats your favorite pantera and primus album?
Whoever Barrington is. Say it. You know your just a shade better than Maynard. Any questions ask craigslist.
