An opponent to be called a rival for sonic once again. Heck, it was one hell of missed opportunity to make Metallix canon.

I don't think it is there to imply that he is afraid of sonic specifically, but what he represents, something metal isn't, real, what is real is the original, the thing that deserver to have its own identity, that it deserves to exist, metal sonic fear the anhialation, to his existence be erased, the only thing any of us can have, stripped from him by everyone he knows, his existence is to be a copy, to be someone else, not something that's is its own thing, replaceable, you are not the original so you can replace him, but you at the same time others can replace you, this is something very frightening to comprehend, one of the many reasons this character is my favourite villain, heck probably favourite character of the whole franchise

@@hotrodthe1 He was wasted in IDW as well because there was no point to Master Overlord except to -have a worse design than Metal Overlord- give him an obvious weak-spot for Heroes to defeat him without Chaos Emeralds.
