Film Disription: In a mysterious universe, the Green Lantern Corps, an elite defense force of peace and justice have existed for centuries. Man what a tease, Mark Strong was Perfect as Sinestro, this scene got me so hype for a sequel after reading Geoff Johns run on Green Lantern comics, Sinestro's one of the best Super villains.
Unfortunately a bad movie, but Mark Strong was utterly perfect for the role.

I remember thinking it was okay but still loved going to the theaters with my dad at that time.
Didnt hate the movie , just thought it could've been way better . The only things I hated in this movie was that we barely got back stories behind any of the characters and parallax being an absolute joke .

To my knowledge he's never said he's a comic book fan, but watching him in this, the Kingsman films and in Shazam, you can clearly tell he respects the fans of these comics and puts his all into his performances. I'd like to think he can return as Sinestro and remain as Dr Sivana in the Shazam films since they don't look the same.
I still liked his role as the main villain in Kick-ass as i felt the first Kick-ass movie has a message and a moral that it okay to read comics and watch superhero movies but dressing up as a real superhero and stopping crime should be left to The police and Medic workers something Phoenix jones try to do and got in trouble for it

The movie was obviously really bad, but the guy who played Sinestro actually gave a pretty good performance. The scene where Sinestro is training with Hal was pretty decent. I think the movie would've been far better if they made Sinestro the villain.

They'd cancel each other out. At the start of the Sinestro Corps War, a yellow power ring tried to attach itself to Batman. Once it detected the "taint" of his previous interaction with a green power ring, it rejected him and flew off in search of a new host.

All the characters in the movie look so good, Sinestro is perfect, Kilowog is perfect, Tomar-Re is too, the Guardians looked great, I just wish they were in a better film.
What are you talking about the effects were the weakest part. They couldn't even make an actual Green Lantern costume or mask! It's all CG! That's not very good when by its nature Green Lantern is a character whose powers are impossible to depict without CG.

Sure, Mark Strong looks good in the suit, but Sinestro just saw a Green Lantern, a COMPLETE ROOKIE, by the way, defeat the biggest threat to the Green Lantern Corps in probably centuries. So why decide NOW to become a Yellow Lantern when he just saw how the power of Will can save planets? It doesn't make sense.

I know I'm late, but he saw the power of Will fail desperately with 12 of the best Green Lanterns, and fear easily destroy them.
Then, a Complete Rookie destroys Parrallax? Will power was what Hal Jordan used, yes, but it was the Sun that defeated him, not Willpower.

This really is one of the coolest post credit scenes ever
It's cool visually, but makes no sense story wise.
There wasn't really any indication in the film that Sinestro was turning evil. It didn't have the buildup the comics, as well as the animated series and animated films had.

I so wanted to see more with SInestro as a Yellow Lantern. This scene was magnificently done!

Since I have been a child waaaay back in the 70's, I have tried out every single ring I have ever found. Be it a $.25 gumball ring or a plastic child's toy or just something I found in an old box, I placed it on my finger and and chanted..."In brightest day...". I am now almost 50 years old and I still do it, cus ya never know, right?
The Power of Fear is too unpredictable, the chance for corruption too great. Sinestro eventually was consumed by the yellow power of fear making him a Villain, the very evil he sworn to fight.
This movie is the first to release a post credit scene and not literally put the future movies on fire.
No one in my family knew anything about Sinestro when they watched it
But I knew, I knew who Sinestro was in the comics and as soon as I saw him I was like “Yep, I already know where this is going”

Well there's a Editing mistake. When a lantern take off Their ring, they turn into a normal Human instantly. But here when sinestro took off his lantern ring,he didn’t change to his normal form. he was still wearing green lantern suit. Which is really bad

The suits might not have been comically accurate but they were cool af! And the constructs and the Corps were very well done. It sucked because Parallax was badly done.

Seriously, that movie got me interested in the Green Lantern lore and made me read some Green Lantern comics. Blackest Night and Brightest Day are my favorite Lantern-centric stories

It was actually a very strong GL movie with a well done overall plot to it. Deserved better than the way it was treated. And a full Sinestro-Hal fight would have been lit!! Especially if it could have led to the Sinestro Corps War!!

This post-credits scene redeems the movie. My goodness, Mark Strong needs to be Sinestro in every single Green Lantern movie. He put in the work. That lightweight Ryan Reynolds takes every opportunity to poo-poo Green Lantern, when he was in the best position to suggest a correction. He demeans a movie that had actors giving their best, when he is the one most responsible for missteps. Ryan Reynolds is the true villain of Green Lantern.
When we forgot that DC did end credit scenes too. So cool.

Script problems, as the plot wasn’t very interesting.
Fights and CGI was pretty good though.
This scene does come out of nowhere though as there was basically no buildup to Sinestro turning evil.

I don't even know why people said this movie was bad. I just watched it again for the first time in years, and I thought it was pretty decent. It's far from the worst superhero movie I've ever seen. It definition has its faults, but exploring Sinestro's new power of fear probably would have saved it. I feel like if the movie didn't look kind of cheesy, it would have done much better. But people are so damn picky about their hero movies and no one's favorite is GL. He really does work best in a team, but on his own, it still works.
