I once flew from Simferopol to Kiev with Ukraine International and when I got to the gate I saw one of these IL-62s outside, and thought it was a replacement plane for our old 737. I nearly shat my pants! After unclenching my anus I realised it was a government jet (might have been this one!) Big sigh of relief...I like the look of these planes but have no desire to fly on one!

Proper, that is.😎 You can’t beat Russian airliners like the IL-62, the Tu-154 etc. Beautiful to look at and listen to.👍🏻

It is my understanding that rolling take-off starts are a BIG no no.
Not a bad jet plane. Other videos show smooth take off and landing. Engines sound first rate.
