I think this is the most amount of gymnasts i’ve seen compete in college then return for the olympic year, and i think it’s definitely noticeable, these girls are amazing
It's at least partially because they don't have to decide between "cashing in" on their status as elites and competing in college, anymore.
Well it kind of wasn’t possible in any previous Olympic year since many Olympians take sponsorships to help pay the way and college athletes weren’t allowed to take sponsorships, so although not strictly banned, it was tough to do both. Glad they got rid of that rule.

Given Suni’s health situation, I’m glad she’s taking it easy. A slow but consistent pace can still lead to success, allowing her to secure a position without unnecessary strain.

possibly as an alternate... but, the good thing is, being 15 nowadays and not making it to the Olympics isnt the end of a gymnast's career as it used to be a decade ago. She can aim for the 2028, even 2032 is realistic for a gymnast her age if she doesn't overtrain

They changed the vault to the vault table in response to the evolution of more difficult routines, maybe it's time to now make the floor area larger because tumbling is so much more powerful now. Looks like almost everybody has trouble staying in bounds.
The floor is way too small for Biles. Would love to see what she would do with a bigger floor.

Domestic judges lowballed Jade real bad. She listened to gymternet and ditched the L-hop 1/1, just for domestic judges to widely reward L-hop 1/1 and Gogean for others. Domestic judges LOVE nonexistent L-hop 1/1 and Gogean, rewarded them in D score, and probably didn't take deductions that will be taken by international judges 🥴

Jade deserves every f'n low score with her entire gymnastic being with her built in deductions. Yall need to look at her worlds scores, they WERENT THAT FAR OFF. Sorry not sorry, she just isnt that girl no has she improved that much, her cheng isnt needed, and her floor will get worse if she upgrades her tumbles. Watch her gymnastics on a big screen tv and you will agree! Jade fans need to meet with a brivet judge to understand why she gets these scores. But if you think she is so far off internationally, she really isnt. A few tenths. 13.733. 14.1 on floor. wow such a big difference. Please.

I don’t think Suni should go. Kidney disease is no joke. She’s too young to have to go through dialysis or even worst need a kidney transplant. I’m a grandmother and have a sister going through the same as Suni. Kidney disease is extremely painful and a vital organ.
@@mylesastinnette6208 I actually have acute kidney disease and you’re absolutely right it is painful and it causes a lot of issues and I almost feel like it’ll be selfish to want her to go, but I really do want her to go lol. Mostly I want her to go because it’s what she wants to.
I want her to go this year and make the most out of it because it may be the end of her gymnastics career 😢

She’s good but inconsistent. Suni is sick with kidney disease and for that reason only, I hope she’s not selected. The young girl from Algeria will win bars. No one can touch her. Same for the girl from Belgium. They are gold. US doesn’t have anyone close to those two.
I really can’t pick 5 to send to Paris. Only 3.
Suni looks great! Love that Leo on her too!!! She just needs to focus up and upgrade a few sets and she is there. Rooting for her. Another one that looks great is Skye!! Great sets!!!!

The commentators always say the same things every night! Literally the same exact phrases and comments…. Cant they switch it up a bit and comment on more technical things?? It’s always the same. Would love to hear more in depth things rather than the already known phrases…

It feels like the commentators are stuck in this bygone era where they would be broadcasting to people who don’t know anything about gymnastics, but are watching because it’s primetime TV. That probably worked well in the past, but it’s not like that anymore. So many people don’t even subscribe to cable, they just subscribe to streaming services that specifically interest them. The only people watching gymnastics now are gymnastics fans. I wish they’d realize this and stop dumbing down their commentary for a “general audience” that is no longer watching.

Someone other than Samantha Peszek announcing would be grand. She just doesn’t know when to talk and when to be silent: if you are watching, she pulls attention away from the action. Save it for the replay!
She says the same anecdotes over and over too.
She talks wayyyyy too much, every floor routine she just doesn’t stop, like we want to listen to the music
Plus I think she jinxes them. Almost every time she says their routine is going well, they mess up right after 😅
The NCAA has the best programming! Only one gymnast goes at a time. The updated scoring on the side. You don’t miss any one.
Only during dual meets. I quads, like nattys, everyone goes at the same time, even in college.
The broadcast would be like 10 hours long if they did that with a group of gymnasts this big

The fact that the judges are underscoring Jade bodes well for her because she will see areas where she can execute well unlike other athletes who will suffer at the international stage
She's not getting underscored. Others just get overscored. There is a difference
Jade’s tumbling passes are amazing but she’s not very dynamic during her dance elements which imo makes her a little boring to watch. I feel like she’s getting lower scores because of the artistic elements.
@@reynairshe is getting lower scores because of the artistic elements. The present cop places emphasis on artistry and unfortunately she's not yet competing very high difficulty like a Simone biles to cover for the deduction on artistry. Hopefully she'll have some upgrades during trials.

So... Jade has amazing tumbling and leaps, but I find her almost boring to watch on floor. I always feel like she isn't dynamic or expressive when dancing and she just gently moves her arms into place rather than throwing herself into it.
replacing Tim Dagget with Sam was a HUGE mistake nbc.

@@mylesastinnette6208 they do it on BBC .. I normally always rewatch Worlds and olympic events on BBC bc they show more gymnast. The international stream is better . I just hate that so many girls get screen time bc they want to give us Fluff pieces on the top gymnast. I would rather see the more gymnast then watch a fluff piece or watch someone take off their tape. They could do better
@@karlishajames4394same. Certain gymnasts get an inordinate amount of screen time and cameras following them around while they’re walking or doing literally nothing when we could be watching routines from other athletes. Wild

You know what I just realized, in the future Simone will be a power figure in the sport. She has such incredible physical and mental training that she is gonna be a force in the commentators booth!

So crazy that it's Simone's 9th title! Also super happy for Skye to win 2nd as well as Kayla in 3rd! Not even expected from them and it's great to see it. This was a great meet and I'm glad that pretty much every contender hit 8/8 (except Suni but that was just on vault, great elsewhere)

Simone is a survivor. A natural leader. A determined woman. We have to understand. Gymnast are not as good as they use to be. Without her this last 8 years of gymnastics we would not of won if it was not for her. USA depends on her? Why you think she had a moment? She has certain standards and didn't want to let herself or us down? You know her worst critic is her? And noone will beat her till she retires and that's it. Because she can do certain moves yes gets more points but that's what makes her so great. So I know the other girls like I said will be happy when she goes so they can finally have their moment. But until then. Sorry she will remain #1. SHE WORKED HER WHOLE LIFE SO YOU CONTINUE TO BE NUMBER 1. I LOVE YOU GIRL!! Keep getting those medals. That young girl Rivera is good Skye good LeAnn is good Jordan Jade and of course Kayla and Sunlee and Shileese and Tiana are are future Olympians! Make us proud!! ❤❤

Sky did her thing at this championships. She got a Cheng and she is showing better consistency. But I would have Jordan as part of the team because she can put up solid scores on any apparatus when it counts.
Suni outscores both Simone and Skye on beam so why leave her???
@@matshitseamantle honestly, at first I didn’t leave her out. She was a lock on my team. However, with Sky’s cheng, in the TF Suni’s .100 score difference on beam is just not enough. Especially with her not at full difficulty on vault and bars. Now, if she does differently at trials then she should be on the team and Jordan as an alternate. BTW: thanks for the question! 😃

Why dod both Jade and Leanne get execution scores of 8 on uneven bars? I root for them both very much, but leanne had a small mistake and it seemed Jade should have gotten a higher score. I was expecting her to get a high 8 at least.

@@Ss-ls7kr Her gym pushed for better scores to get promoted. The overscoring of certain gymnasts has to do with gymnastics politics
Lots of other falls is probably a big part of it too. Suni had the fall on vault too and ended up 4th. There did seem to be some iffy scoring going on at some points though
It’s their difficulty scores. Suni also had a fall and came in 4th. Simone had a major fall and that didn’t matter at all. Not sure I understand the comment

I wish the commentators would stop saying certain girls look "angry". In reality they are just focusing before their routines. You see them smile and cheer on their teammates regardless of how their own performances go - which is a truer reflection of their demeanor. This feels like a microagression when it's mainly a label given to the darker-skinned athletes.
Anybody else catch that 2 seconds of Pentatonix singing Carol of the Bells right at the beginning before Simone mounts the beam? 😮 Did someone play that during their floor routine? 💜

If skye doesn't hit in trials, I'm 100 percent taking Jordan over her even though she has a cheng vault. One of the big reasons silver for the team was won because of Jordan's consistency.
Jordan fell at the Olympics, and at worlds and pan Ams last year So Skye is not the only one that inconsistent

They won't. FIG LOVES wolf turn. People keep telling FIG to devalue, but we see more gymnasts doing wolf turns because of their outrageous value. If you don't do a wolf turn, you are punished in D score. Triple wolf turn > artistry in this code.

I’m happy for Jade. College has helped her loosen up quite a bit. Wish she could get rid of dad. Who needs their dad around them what seems like 24/7? My dad was like that and I hated it. Gosh dad, give Jade a break. I believe she could do so much better if he just sat in the audience.

Simone's female coach looks so tired. They're 24/7 helping all those girls. Kudos to all the coaches and the team behind this team.
They are not 24/7. All of the gymnastics trainees have specific times for training. Laurent and Cecile have a daughter at home that they go home to every night.
