Hike: Tom Dick and Harry Mountain - Friends of the Umpqua Hiking Club

If there was an award for the most unlikely name for a mountain, Tom Dick and Harry Mountain would most likely walk away with trophy in hand. Named for its three distinct peaks along the summit, TD&H would also probably win the award for busiest trail in the Mt. Hood area. On this day, there was no shortage of eager hikers making their way to the top of the mountain. It was if every Tom Dick and Harry was here today. Along the way, Mirror Lake provides a picturesque view of Mt Hood reflecting off its, wait for it... mirror-like surface.
We chose this trail for our first hike as we were hoping for a good overall view of Mt Hood. TD&H did not disappoint! From here, we could see the entire south side of Mt Hood, knowing that we'd be traipsing along its steep slopes the following day along the Timberline Trail. But for now, we just enjoyed the hospitality that good ol' Tom Dick and Harry offered in the form of spectacular views.
