He has that classic elegance, precision and lightness in his gymnastics. Everything from the form to landings looked in control, instead of rushed or brute-forced. He is undoubtly one of the most achieving gymnasts of all time, and more importantly, he demonstrated the golden era of classic gymnastic style that emphasized control rather than pure power. For some reasons , I found MAG routines much more enjoyable than WAG last quad.

Fell in love with gymnastics thanks to Kouhei Uchimura and Aliya Mustafina. I'm so sad I can't watch either of them in Tokyo 2020. I wish Kouhei Uchimura health and well-being and hope he keeps doing gymnastics for 10 years more, if that's what he wants.
If it is about sports, it can be both. Manga/anime are created from real-life sports plus imagination. Then the kids/young athletes get inspired by the manga/anime. One example is the manga Ganba Fly High written by Morisue Shinji, Olympic Gold Medalist, which inspired young Uchimura. Uchimura has talked about this in several interviews.
He hurt around his last routine. His backbone is hurting that make him can't bow down to the person who giving him the medal. He can only lower his head. 😢
