- Join me on a night IFR flight from Cedar Rapids, IA, to Chicago Midway. Patchy low clouds in Chicago require an ILS approach to runway 4R. Good tailwinds helped make this flight in record time, one hour and four minutes.
Beautiful landing u are number one
Another great informative video...thanks for bringing us along!
Thanks, Richard!
Boss landing.
Always great and again on this one. Making my IFR training more enlightened.
I m watching it now very enjoyable video 👍
Good flight 👍
Fun video Martin, great job as always, Dennis
Always great vid Martin. I wish there will be a glance on the instrument panel next time.fly safe
That's a bit hard to do at night. My "RNAV Approach at Dubuque" video shows more of the instruments - have you seen that?
another great video, although wish I could see the instruments better as tablet took up most of view.
I learn so much from these kind of videos, thank you.
By the way this is a second time watching it
Martin, love the high quality videos you produce. What program are you running on your iPAD. Is it Foreflight? If so, looks different from the Foreflight I am using.
Joseph, the app I run is called WingX Pro. It's an EFB (electronic flight back) app, so the same kind of app as Foreflight, but these two are different apps from different software vendors.
I'd love to know how you capture the WingX and add it to the video. That's cool.
Chuck, that's not hard to do but requires some extra equipment. Apple makes an adapter that produces HDMI video output from the iPad's lightning port. From there, I use a solid-state video recorder to record the iPad screen throughout the flight. That recorded video clip then becomes just one more camera angle along with the GoPros and other recorded sources. It's all edited into one final video through Final Cut Pro, Apple's video editing software.
Good stuff, thanks for sharing!
sounded like it was busier on the ground lol. thanks for sharing!
Yes, the Ground frequency was busy indeed!
Great video! What app are you using? Looking forward to more adventures.
Same question on what app do you use? Looks good...
Ken and Craig,
The app I use is called WingX Pro. It's one of the three apps most pilots use (the others are ForeFlight and Garmin Pilot).
Martin Pauly Thanks!
