Through this whole conversation you can easily pick up the main theme thru Guru’s life, there was always a Brotha or Sista offering guidance or a hand in getting him to the next level and supporting him on his journey- priceless ✅💯✅💯✅💯✅

I'm 38 years old and was born and raised in DC Uptown NW, and to hear Young Guru talk about the sound of DC which is Go-Go music just warms my heart man.
    I love my city.
I remember hearing how my aunts and uncles going to The Black Hole going to see Backyard, Rare Essence and Junkyard.
And he's right as well our sound has always been duplicated or taken but never has been infiltrated that's why it's still one of the most purest genres of music that's still around to this day that's made by us. 202 All Day Baby.

@@treyjones7504 so I’ve been told, still I’m surprised I haven’t seen any cellphone clips or anything. things like that are extra special, closer to home, a deeper personal connection to the music
not sure if there’s anything nearly interesting and prolific going on here in Toronto, if there is I haven’t heard of it yet. the modern Toronto rap scene doesn’t have anything as interesting going on, we have drake and pressa lol. it’s more like a lot of other pre established music circles and sub scenes that intersect every so often, usually the lowest of low key i.e. pwyc punk shows, noise, electro-acoustic music, moshes in tape stores, basement venues etc. it’s kind of unfortunate given the rich history of Toronto Hip-Hop that we don’t have more going on nowadays. but I’ll stop myself now hahaha 😆 respect

Одно из лучших интервью! Много слышал об этом парне, но всегда приятней послушать его самого.
