"The fact that you want to ask me questions is very much an honor, because it could be somebody else giving you answers" - Clark Kent
🔥🔥🔥
Real talk
Like the show fellas but many NY brothers strike me as corny. Not all, but many. To much extra bravado and tough guy routines.
@@williewidener7170somebody had to say it

When I first heard ready to die me and my man was on our way to the club when he popped in the CD. We never made it out the car we sat in a parking lot of the club listening the whole night over and over! Classic!!!🔥
Legendary, great story 💯🔥

That’s a fly story fam 💯 thanks for sharing
You can definitely listen to that CD from beginning to end. I remember hearing it when it first came out and said this is an instant classic. It was like listening to a movie.
Math Hoffa Killing the pod cast game... This is a legendary moment DJ Clark Kent
NO MATH CUTS THE OTHER HOST OFF WHEN THEY ASK REAL QUESTIONS. MATH IS A CONTRADICTION
Or he's directing the conversation the way he supposed to as a host 💯 in an interview there is a structure to the questions each question leads into another so he only tells em don't skip ahead when they ask CERTAIN questions....
@@loyallyfetv8922 Exactly!!! Not knowing things like that is why most people can’t reach the next level.
@@jamalvines2133 did your Ma never tell you if you've nothing nice to say, don't say anything...
People we're saying things like Dropping the Soap in jail= getting raped.... And if you yourself never did jail prison time... How you speak on things Like that?
EVERY HIP HOP HEAD SHOULD APPRECIATE CLARK KENT'S CONTRIBUTION TO THE CULTURE!!💯💯👏🏿
FACTS!!!
Yessir u Got to….or else your a hater point blank.
He produced "Brooklyn Finest, I need you tonight and Sky's the limit" mean every beat was tailor made for the artist 😎💯
With out a doubt this is a FACT
@Ras Psalm CiviliNation7 I wouldn't say nut hugging. More like Celebrating Greatness 💯💯
One of the GREATEST podcast ever "I said that!" This is a gem to the hip hop community and community in general man! 🔥🔥🔥
Salute to Clark Kent for the knowledge and love for hip-hop. Simple and plain.
Yep couldn't of said it better...
Love the podcast Math, one suggestion tho - could you add title markers so we know what subjects get spoken about during certain timestamps?? Helps me come back to a certain part to share with friends! Much love
Esso is drunk lmao Clark looked like he was annoyed a couple times 😂
He roasted esso bout the zodiac signs 🤣
Esso is the weak link
When he called Esso for saying let them have their moment and said Nas was born in Brooklyn!🤯😮🤣🤣
Very annoyed by him. I start to find myself at times annoyed by him at times. But they did politely tell him to stfu.
@@tyronzae7771 yea like when he started to talk about Fred Da Godson and saying he didn't know who he was that much he could've kept that to himself I don't think he was trying to be mean tho but still annoying
Also the point about DJs hearing the count is spot on. The DJ curse is that you can’t enjoy music as easily as others in clubs if not mixed properly or if the song doesn’t track well when your mixing it. Beat matching makes you hear things that none of the crowd ever will. anything dropping out of beat ruins the song and even the set depending how bad. So many modern DJs today don’t have the same problems and ultimately love due to using sync. Turntables will always be the great equaliser and cultivated love for music as Clark is describing, now days it’s easy to do without the love of leaning for years with no progress at times for long periods which only love can get you past. Finally, not going through the process he’s describing leaves you ill equipped to overcome problems which inevitably happen when djing to a lot of people. What an absolute legend Clark is and what a great perspective to listen to, undeniably the game would not even look the same without this man’s influence.
GO GO MUSIC
I told one of my friend DJ N9CE
The same exact thing about his djing skills years ago. There's something special about changing the next song and still being on beat. Clark just gave me a skill I never knew I could use.
Salute to the man 👏
Great F^cking Post!!💯💪🏾🔥
As a producer i have the producer curse lol.
@@SDSOverfiend what do you mean
@@romelegend2334 When I hear beats by other producers.. I can hear the off timings when it’s not done purposely. If it’s sloppy work I won’t enjoy it. Especially if a big name artist is on it. It makes you say to yourself.. “Come on.. I can do better than that” 😂 Everybody is using technology to bypass what makes the art really fun. I use a MPC Live 2 stand alone. I still chop by ear and everything I do falls on the 2,4,8. Reason being is Natural for Black to do everything off the “1 2, 1 2,” in hip hop. That’s makes my transitions fall on time
"If you don't love that sh*t, don't do that sh*t." He's speaking as if he had a spy camera on my whole life. That's why I still DJ & produce(mostly house music tho). Salute again, y'all.
Dj Clark Kent is a walking hip hop encyclopaedia we need to cultivate him and Hoffa too mad respect son 🫡
For his era yes he is not for all of hip hop history no disrespect
@@tadah21 i Much rather be with Dj Clark Kents era this mumble rap aint all that respectfully bring back da boom bap
Math gotta stop Hynaken from asking dumb ass questions lol
Hyn had me dying this episode
Nigga really asked if Jay becoming successful helped ease the pain of Biggie dying... like NIGGA WHAT lol
@@gmcqueen27 that was a weird question
Hynaken TRIES to sound smart but 60% of the shit he asks always sounds dumb asf lol. Everytime he's about to open his mouth you can see the look of annoyance on Math's face.
Did y’all see what he asked maino 🤣 funniest shit ever I put the time stamp in the comments
This episode was phenomenal 👏... Clark Kent and Kareem Biggs Burke got ALL of the great Rocafella related stories
Especially Kareem
Clark Kent is definitely a legend. I remember when he came to Club Plastic's in Atlanta and 91, blew the spot and changed the landscape for DJing from that point. He was the first cat to slam records and keep the crowd on the edge with excitement. I'm so glad that he brought up Legends Like Larry levan, because a lot of people don't understand how connected the DJ culture is in different styles of music particularly during the 70s era when Disco, Hip Hop, salsa, and Underground hardcore Rock, were all emerging. All of these forms have a lot to do with hip hop and it's Global popularity now. I beg to differ with Clark's mc/ rapper Theory, but that's a whole different discussion. Salute to him.✌🏿
Yea do remember Kane & Biz on Simon & Garfunkel track.. Remember talking heads doing Gene if love (Mariah Carey fantasy sample) . Never got to see him live, I Seen Jay in Dublin in the 2000s but I dint think Clark was there.. ruclips.net/video/Z6VrKro8djw/видео.html

BTW: Tell Esso that Lewis Latimer invented a unit the revolutionized the filament that illuminates the light bulb. He did not invent light nor electricity.💛💙

Came back to watch a second time. DJ Clark Kent could have his own podcast, his stories, the way he speaks its just incredible
Honestly, this is my favorite episode. Clark is one hell of a storyteller
Thank you for this episode fr-you dont even know the ripples in history these discussions are creating!!! One Love & once again thank y’all!
Alan Freed was a DJ from back n the day who helped spread rock n roll through radio across america. He's also the reason payola exists the way it does essentially.
My favorite part of this entire interview is how important Clark made it known to continue the education of hip hop. To become a 5 percenter you just know your 120 lessons you must pass your student enrollment etc. There are guidelines and boundaries that take place in order to ensure the quality of the individual being welcomed. We just find a way to create something for hip hop that way. The new generation has the responsibility on their shoulders to educate themselves and others as well as protect the integrity of the culture. The older generation has to find a way to teach them.
The first full interview im looking at. Much respect Hoffa and company.
Обожаю слушать реальных участников, легендарных событий! Звучат факты о которых не узнаешь от журналистов и критиков. Спасибо Кларк, пусть Бог хранит тебя!
You gotta love the passion in DJ Clark Kent's voice; that alone is inspiring...and his stories in this interview are classic lol

It's interesting hearing Clark Kent speak about how he learned from the DJ just by hearing him play music. It reminds me of how J dilla said he knew he was supposed to work with Madlib because Madlib's was speaking to him through his music. That's dope man.

I know I’m really late in discovering this podcast, but I instantly gravitated towards it.. you guys really know the hip hop culture and pay homage to its legends in the game, which I seldom hear anyone else does. The episode with DJ Clark Kent is my favorite because it’s so informative and I can see how passionate he feels about the legacy of hip hop. Great job guys, you just earned another fan of the show. 🤩
Math u definitely legendary for this u got everybody beat on RUclips ya yt is better than drink Champs to me congrats on all your Success wish u much more bro .. thank you for genuine content you will get real knowledge from
Credit to you all, massive fan of the podcast and fairly new to it and after this episode I’ve realise what it is. I’m not sure I’ve ever seen so many interesting people in a room having a conversation which breaths and each person offering interesting looks and opinions whilst always staying focused on the guest not trampling on the conversation or story. I’m from the UK and white which shouldn’t need saying but I’m saying it because it’s worth recognising the inspiration and lessons your giving to all different demographics where other shows sometimes make me feel like I shouldn’t be listening even tho hip hop is my favourite music and I most relate to growing up. Thanks for the great content, keep it coming and love from over the pond 👊
