Installing An Exterior Door | Tons Of Rotted Wood | Landscapers FAIL | HANDYMAN HEADQUARTERS

I may have gotten myself in deep on this project but we got it done! The main issue was all the rotted wood under the door. The landscapers built a patio and steps out of pavers but in order to meet the height of the door they piled up so much sand and gravel against the wood it just held a ton of a moisture. In the end although it took longer than expected it went well and the customer was really happy!

It looks like that entire backyard needs to be regraded so you don't have soil up against the siding. Great repair.

Here’s a few thoughts:
- pvc panel for underside
- French drain underside
- rubberize tape bottoms of joist to help protect

I do like the rubberized tape for the joists! Always have it in my van. Didn't think of that!
