    Very good logical troubleshooting. Apparently not every IC fails in a way that shows as a short or open circuit at the interface. Very educational, thank you!

    • @ToltecMerc
      @ToltecMerc  Год назад +1

      It was still working somewhat so no complete shorts. It could been an odd resistor or cap I suppose but those DAP053 seem to be fragile. Thanks for stopping by!

    The much better behaviour with Q34 removed would have pushed me into a shutdown rabbit hole. Nice one!

      It was odd but I knew the voltage should have been good with Q34 removed and it wasn't. Thanks for watching and commenting!

    That was an easy one, but also a really weird one. If I had taken a look at it I would probably have needed to get something to put a load on it. Thanks for the video, another interesting one to watch.

      @@ToltecMerc I will, but I’m probably going to wait for prices to come down, perhaps they will when another model comes out later this year. It’s difficult to break even and not over spend on PS5s as they generally go for the same price broken as they are new in stores even though they’re now in stock just about everywhere. I’m doing a lot better with the PS4 Pros while they’re still relevant.
      I have a no power PS4 Pro on the way. I have an extra supply for it if that’s what it is.

    Have a PSU with a similar issue were it power cycles under load after the transformer was put back on. Not sure if powering on without a transformer broke it but with these repair vidoes worth trying to fix again.

    • @ToltecMerc
      @ToltecMerc  Год назад +1

      Thank you! No, I only started working on consoles about 4 years ago. Before that, I would just tinker with building different circuits for my work or myself. I wasn't really repair focused until I found a way to have fun and make a little money while doing it by repairing consoles.

    Man I really love your content, interesting and educational all the time.
    After that video, I have a request for you, maybe it's something you like to pick up. The DAP053 seems to be hard to come by at the moment.
    In a tweet I picked up someone who claimed the DAP053 is just a relabeled TEA2016AAT.
    I'm not in a position to judge about that, but maybe you could take a look at that claim from a professional point of view?
