Nice mod my 991.1 TT have the same steering wheel like yours with option red stich, it looks great on black interior. Keep the mods going. Great way personalized your car.
Congrats! I bet it feels like driving a new car! And thanks to Craft Customs for the excellent inside view of doing your wheel! I didn't think of how hard it would be to make the leather hit such tight tolerances to not be too big or too small. Looks like $450 is a deal with all that labor!
Hahahah. It took a lot of self control to not go CF nuts on the wheel.... but you know... I can always replace the center / 3-spoke trim in CF at a later date... ;-)
Hi James. Hope you’re good. Very interesting video. Wheel looks great and I want to do this on the GTS. Q: What size 12 Point spline bit should I look for?
Super job, very informative James. I changed my leather standard wheel to the RaceTex GT version and also changed the trim pieces to black. I LOVE the final look and feel of the RaceTex. Doing these mods, including changing all the interior trim pieces to CF are so important to making the car your own. I love my Cayman S!
Ok just started watching this video. What are the odds we get to see a knife in the middle before the end? I’m sorry but I did enjoy your last steering wheel video.
Really awesome that craftcustoms showed process and all the steps. Very complicated and informative!
Cheers! Glad you enjoyed it!
The Craft Customs portion was an interesting insight into their process.
Well done. I had no idea that was doable. Thank you.
Thanks!!
Awesome James ! Wheel bearings changed and my 997 is healthy again !
Good for you! Awesome.
Amazing process!
Cheers John!!

Thank you!!
Nice job, a new or refurbed wheel really does freshen up an older car.
I went for a drive today and the interior felt (and smelled!) brand new again.
Do like the new wheel. 😊
Thanks Dan!

Totally!! They did such a great job. I love the wheel now, so cool.
Looks awesome. I think my 986 needs a little steering wheel love.
It looks fantastic James.
Thank you Costas!!
Amazing quality 👌
Thank you 🙌
I like it I think it looks sharp
Thanks Sean!!
Hi. Could you let me know the name of the company that refurbished your friends (Dutch 911) steering wheel. As I’m looking to have mine done. Thanks
Thanks for this! I'm in the UK - could you give the details for the UK company you mentioned?
Absolutely! Here you go... royalsteeringwheels.com
Thank you!
LOL on the Knifes, Love the look
Cheers Jose! Hope you're doing well!
Have to say im surprised you didnt go to carbontastic but agree on being a mod that you interact with so often its well worth personalizing
Hahahah. It took a lot of self control to not go CF nuts on the wheel.... but you know... I can always replace the center / 3-spoke trim in CF at a later date... ;-)
@@AutoAmateur Check out carbontastic, they are beautiful but 2K minimum. Hope Mum and baby and you all doing well.
Did you keep the battery disconnected for the weeks the steering wheel was being redone?
No, I had to connect it up once or twice. But when it came to the install, the battery was disconnected.
Hi James.
Hope you’re good. Very interesting video. Wheel looks great and I want to do this on the GTS. Q: What size 12 Point spline bit should I look for?
That's a good question! My bolt needed the 12mm size.
Nice job. I assume they can add padding to make it thicker? How much was your wheel? Thanks!
Absolutely! Mine was around $450 to $500 plus shipping.
Modsy Mcmods Face? Brilliant! 😂😂
Hahahah. Well.
Hi James, you mentioned a UK company that your friend had used, could you share who that was? Like you would prefer to keep it local to me in the UK.
Sure Alan! They’re called Royal Steering Wheels I believe.

Hahahaha. Thankfully the 991 wheel was unharmed during the making of this video. I'm about to make a 996 wheel removal video.... wish me luck!
Nice!
Cheers!
Great video again James but can you spot your mistake? ……………….. you spelt COLOUR wrong. 🤪
HA! I can't win. Been here too long. :-)
I suppose by now you must know that u can activate the multifunction on this steering wheel at a porsche dealer in 5 minutes
That’s right. Thanks! ☺️
Hey McMods Face. Can’t believe you did not get carbon fiber 😂. How much was it total?
BTW, looks amazing. Really love the stitching.
$500 plus shipping, but who says I'm not going to be getting CF.... there is the silver trim in the center there that's just aching to be replaced. :)
You're not going to stab the airbag again are you James?
Don't tempt me. Hahaha.
Hmmmm these mod videos always cost me money 😂😂😂
Hahahahaha. It makes me feel better when others spend what I spend.
