Hi! Btw you’re beautiful! Thank you for this video! My boyfriend and I are traveling to Tanzania but we’re flying straight into Kilimanjaro Airport. I have a few questions: I am not covid vaccinated but I did get my required vaccines (malaria -medication, Hepatitis A, Typhoid). Do you know if I will need to get the covid vaccine upon arrival and returning back to the US? I am hesitant to get the covid vaccine being that I’ve traveled to other remote countries and didn’t catch covid but my doctor strongly recommended it. She stated I am likely to catch covid to Tanzania which I can’t predict anything but I plan to take precautions as far as wearing a mask, keeping clean, etc. Also, which airport did you fly to? I understand Dar Es Salaam does offer visas to purchase but I am not sure about Kilimanjaro airport? I am assuming they do as well? How much did you need in money upon arrival? I had seen they require $10,000 there and back and I’m not sure if it’s in their money of USD? Did you have to get travelers insurance? Lastly, do you know much about their transportation to national parks? Bus transportation? Thank you!
Hello. Thank you 😊 I’ll try to answer to the best of my ability. I have not taken the vaccine yet. I think the vaccine is more of a personal choice. I don’t recall catching COVID in Tanzania, so it’s just a matter of wearing your mask and sanitising your hands as much as possible. A lot of people have not been wearing masks, but I have noticed that some establishments are starting to require people to wear masks when entering. I honestly think catching malaria here is easier than catching COVID- that’s just my opinion. As mentioned. zone you wear your mask, you’ll be fine. For the visa, I paid 50 USD when I arrived through Dar Es Salaam’s airport. That visa can be paid with either cash or card. I think for Kilimanjaro it should be the same price. I don’t believe that the requirement is to have 10,000 USD. Are you sure it did not state that the maximum amount of money that you can travel into the country with, without declaring is 10,000 USD and under? I did not see any rules dictating that you should have a certain amount of money at hand in order to visit Tanzania. Only that rule, relating to the maximum allowed to travel with. I did not have to get travellers insurance. I am not too familiar with the prices for bus transportation, but I do know that Uber is quite cheap and might be a better option, especially if you are trying to be as cautious as possible when it comes to COVID. As for the National Parks such as Serengeti, there are many agents who are offering different prices, so it’s not one price fits all, unless you are booking directly though the hotels that are in the National Parks. I hope this helps a bit. Let me know if you need anything else. You’ll enjoy the country.
Take your COVID shot , am Tanzanian and an debating yo get vaccine or not , but if I were to travel back to Tanzania, yes I would take a vaccine then fly back home, that’s just what I would do.
@@daisyhandfield1 I see that this was 8 months ago... What are they doing now as far as c ovd? Did you get malaria vac and what works for mosquitoes? Oh and what is cost for retirement visa?
@@jewelniles4041 Majority don't care or rather don't take Covid-19 seriously because in TZ there has never been forceful vaccination even wearing protective masks in public is not common.
Thanks for the video!I'm in TZ now. However I had the opposite experience with the food. I am in a much smaller town than Dar. The meat is super tough. I love their french fries though but I have to limit my intake of fried foods.
what a great video! another tip - I also land up saving up on unnecessary expenses like atm fees etc in Tanzania - using apps like ATM Fee Saver - it helps find atms abroad with no fees or lower fees than others along with withdrawal limits etc. worth adding to your list of tricks!
Thank you ! Your video is extremely helpful. I would like to visit Tanzania. I have never been outside the country and I would be a solo traveler. Do you think Tanzania would be a good country for a female solo traveler to visit? How did you find a personal driver? Did your driver speak English? How do you find a personal chef? How to find the best places to eat? I’m in the US , are you also an American citizen? If so, how long was your flight? Sorry, to ask so many questions but your video was so informative and I would like to visit Tanzania.
I'm Tanzanian living in Dar es salaam I can say that it very safe for solo travellers. Everything you need you will be assisted by the locals. We are so friendly and welcoming people. A lot of solo travellers have traveled here and some have relocated. You are welcome.
Yes I am very dietary restricted... Biblically and sebi (so I wouldn't want to go to a restaurant that cooks pork bc they could cook them in same grease) lol I probably need to just cook! Are there organic foods in the stores/open markets and are there oils and spices sold in the open markets?
What about places in Tanzania, Africa, that provide Dairy-free and Gluten-free Organic Meals that still have Fish, Land Animal Meats, Poultry Fowl Meats, and/or Seafood with Fruits, Herbs, and Vegetables?
Thank you for this video; the information is very useful. My husband and I will be there in September / October Can you tell me please - where is the best place to buy jewellery? I have just watched a video about about Tanzanite; it looks very beautiful. but is it very expensive? Thanks and have a lovely evening.
Hi Love your video. Me and my son are traveling to Tanzania on Friday so your video is very informative, I want to know is there any vaccine you took before visiting Tanzania. I was wondering if I have to take the yellow fever or the typhoid fever vaccine.
How cool??!! I did not take any vaccines before arriving in Tanzania. However, make sure to buy mosquito repellent because it is so easy to get malaria here. The locals spoke to me about a medicine that people buy here at the pharmacy to prevent the effects of the mosquito bites.
Hey there! Traveling to Tanzania on Saturday. I got the typhoid vaccine, malaria preventative meds, and a booster to one of the other ones I can’t remember. If you have time before you leave, go to a travel clinic. They will help you immensely!
Girl…. Thank you for this video.. Such helpful information!❤ I will be planning my trip to Tanzania over the next several months. Can I write you here if I need specific info? Also, what lipstick are you wearing?
Good morning. When you arrive at the airport they will ask you for the address of where you are staying for the duration of your time in the country. If they are in doubt, they might go as far as asking you to show proof of the accommodation. I hope this information was helpful.
Not scammed overpricing that she meant you have to negotiate or ask a local to negotiate for you as foreigner. I'm a Tanzanian living in Dar es salaam. It's a safe place you're welcome.
