    Omg we did exactly the same thing where we live. We in the car and drove up Derby road towards Tesco superstore and the dark cloud over yonder was mad. It was sun behind us but dark in front then the rains came. My daughter filmed it as I drove and we were in awe at the apocalyptic sky 😁funny how we are fascinated by storms. Brilliant video 👍

      Thank you. Yes, storms are fascinating. I live for the spring/summer months and the thunderstorms. I spend winter watching storm vids and longing to see a flash of lightning again 🙂

    I remember this. We had storms every evening for a few weeks. Judging by radar a couple were supercellular.

      Some very active storms by UK standards during June and again in August last year. Across similar areas too.

    I’d be doing this if I could, although In Oxford we don’t get much action, and my old car can’t take the travel, but keep it up man, I will sub as it’s nice to see UK storm chasers, and ignore the sarky idiots, you can only chase what’s put in front of you.

    • @supacellstormchasing

    Never having been to most of the UK (just the London area back in the 90's) I'm wondering if your weather in the UK is getting more severe? That's mostly a rhetorical question but would love first-hand experience!

    • @supacellstormchasing
      @supacellstormchasing  4 года назад +2

      It is definitely getting warmer. This past August we had 6 days whereby temperatures reached or exceeded 34c. In 2019 the UK all time temperature was broken and 2018 was an unusually dry, warm summer. High temperature records have been breaking all over the UK. From my experience, thunderstorms have become a bit more intense in the last few years but that may be due to a relative lull in activity between about 2007 and 2014 giving that impression (2014 was a particularly active year). I remember some big storms as a child back in the 1980s but perhaps not to the frequency as we get now. The upturn in temperatures is undeniable though.

      Congratulations on having a little brother or sister 🙂. It's not nice being scared of something and many people are just like you and phobic of thunder. The reality is that like most phobias there really is nothing to be afraid of. Unless, like me, you are a loon that deliberately finds storms and then stands outside in them 😜

    It must be very boring storm chasing in the UK, nothing exciting ever happens, bit of breeze, some rain and a few bangs and its all over…..the drama would kill me lol, give me a us tornado anyday, waste of fuel

    • @supacellstormchasing
      @supacellstormchasing  Год назад +2

      Personally I don't find it boring, and it's a personal choice. Not for everyone I know, but it is something i and a select few others enjoy. I would obviously love to chase a US tornado but I don't live in the US so I work with what I have. Getting out and about, enjoying nature, what's not to love. Beats sitting at home. Waste of comment.
