I am beginning to believe that part of the ongoing restoration is understanding the role that women have played and are playing in the work of God. To quote Anthony Rivera in this episode: “These are all females who are fashioning the progress of Gods plan.” Since the time that President Nelson became prophet I have seen this come to the fore front again and again. Your guests, both men and women are also shining the light on faithful women. Thank you
Loved learning the Hebrew meanings of these words! When you read Exodus 1:19 about the Hebrew women not being like the Egyptian women it replayed in my mind how many Women’s conferences I’ve heard said, “We as covenant women cannot be like the women of the world.” It is our commission to be ‘lively’ in helping to move God’s work forward so we all can be “delivered”. So many “glittery and bright” thoughts flowing to my mind right now. Thank you!
Listening to this podcast is like watching mysteries unravel from those lines in the scriptures by understanding its original hebrew text/form, from the parallelism to the story of the Creation, to Noah's ark to the significance of God telling Moses he is His son, such great insights from Anthony Rivera Jr., looking forward to part II! 😊
I used not to like reading Old Testament but now I can’t wait to read and listen more of it. This podcast made a total change in my life. I know that I now feast upon the words of the Lord. Thank you all of you responsible for this podcast.
Hank and John- this podcast has opened the scriptures up to me and I can't get enough! I listen to them on RUclips while I paint (paint by numbers). I am now going back and listening to last year's, late to that party 🥳. I love the insights, I love your guests! I find myself wishing your guests were my parents. LOL! My family sits and watches sometimes too. keep up this wonderful work!
This is so far my fav podcast I love the breakdown of the scriptures in this episode Anthony Rivera is so wonderful to listen to and watch 😊 Our God is an amazing God so grateful for the great scholars who makes the scriptures come alive
This past hour, I was allowed to pause and reflect on my journey as a modern-day house of Israel tribe member and walked with Moses through his exodus and journey of life and his discovery of redemption and salvation. Thank you Anthony for sharing these powerful anchors of your soul today which allowed the spirit to touch my eyes and heart.
I just got a class with Brother Rivera and the feeling is almost the same, it is so beautiful how we can understand better the scriptures when we understand the roots of the words. I also loved the part about 'Women as heroes, I didn't fully understand how important and sacred was the mission of Eve. Loved the podcast!
It hit me in a way it never has before- God taught Moses who he truly is. Moses was adopted. His adoptive mother knows something of his birth family, but can’t give him the full story. In order to fulfill his divine destiny Moses had to have both the birth family and adoptive family he had. I learned so much from the explanation of his name. Thank you!
This was a very, very, very wonderful podcasr! Please bring back Bro. Rivera again. Moses as a begotten son, wow! The ark to save mankind as Noah did, only this time they ark was made by his mother. The ark could be referred to as a safety womb for life.
Totally unrelated sorry, but I can't seem to find where to send a message. Firstly, I love these podcasts more than I have words to express. They have opened my understanding to the scriptures and made them come alive, more than ever before. My question, I have been given an assignment to talk in church this coming Sunday, and the topic is taken from next week's CFM reading - so Exodus 7-13. I know that listening to this podcast is going to greatly enhance my understanding of those chapters, and was excited to go listen and take notes before I began my talk prep....but that episode isn't up yet - how early do you put up your podcast for the following week?
Great episode! I have always wondered about Pharaohs daughter. Was she married?? Did no one notice she wasn't pregnant with the child. So she was a single mom? Or did everyone just know Moses was adopted.¿???
I have a question that I’m still confused about regarding Moses’ name. Brother Rivera stated, the translation of Moses in Hebrew is Mosheh(sp?) which means “‘because I drew him out of the water’ and it’s the same as Mashah(sp?).” Bro. Rivera went on to say, “I call him Mosheh because of Mashah”. He says they have the same meaning. Is one name Hebrew and the other Egyptian? He continued to talk about the description of the name of Moses, which also means “the begotten of”. The Egyptians would name their sons Ra Moses or Tut Moses. What does the name Moses mean? Is it “the begotten of” or “because I drew him out of the water”?
I’m not sure if anyone else has stated this…when I read “lively” when in reference to Hebrew women vs Egyptian women…it’s well known that women who are highly active up until labor and delivery tend to have quicker and easier labors and deliveries…maybe it’s also referencing how Egyptian women were more idle during pregnancy. Hebrew women probably didn’t have any time to be idle.
A lot of what Exodus is teaching with the serpent attacking the family, and also trying to destroy children has a lot to do what is happening in our society today with the attacks on family, gender, and children.
In discussing the strength of the women of Israel birthing babies compared to Egyptian women perhaps there was a correlation of the lifestyle of the women of Israel being more physically demanding in bondage then the ease of life of the Egyptian women. The Israelite women are in strong physical shape and the Egyptian women are soft from a soft life and therefore struggle to have babies and would therefore have them slower. I remember a friend who played volleyball in her last two weeks pregnancy and felt invigorated to do so.
Working in the birthing field myself, I'd say what the Hebrew midwives tell the king is that the Hebrew women are strong, sturdy, hard working women who can give birth easily because their bodies were made to do this. Unlike the Egyptian women who were, no doubt, pampered and fussy and likely had more difficult births as a result.
Brother Rivera has just blown my mind!

Discovering who we really are and hearing it, as well as feeling it, and knowing it WOW! Thank you!

Good historical and symbolic insight! Thanks!
I like this because it helps more with my life and scriptures and explains what is going on
Can I hit the 'like' button a thousand times? This lesson is pure gold! Thanks a lot!
Best podcast you’ve ever done! I love how you all went through the verses of the scriptures. I learned so much!
When they talk about God’s name the first time I think of proverbs…..the fear of the Lord is the beginning of understanding
I grew up with the Bible but never saw scriptures like this!
This is another great pod cast . Can’t wait to see part two .
It is cool they can help with names of the people and what they do
Good job my dudes
You have to listen at 1.25x to keep attention. Great content though
Does the arc of the covenant also relate to Noah's arc and Moses's arc? And if so, how?

The first episode usually shows up on Friday evening and part 2 on Saturday! Good luck on your talk!

Wouldn’t Moses have been circumcised and that would make him realize he was Hebrew way early in life?

What is his website?
First!

Question: Did the decree of killing children continue for all the years until Moses arrives?
