This is a general comment for the creators of this podcast... for some time I have wanted to say thank you for all of the inspiration and light that this has brought into our home. I read a quote today from President Hinkley... “‘We must … get our teachers to speak out of their hearts rather than out of their books, to communicate their love for the Lord and this precious work, and somehow it will catch fire in the hearts of those they teach’ [Teachings of Gordon B. Hinckley (1997). This is what we have experienced with this podcast and I want to give a HUGE thanks to all of those, guests, hosts, and producers who have consecrated their time and talents to share the good news with so many of their brothers and sisters!!

I so look forward to my Sunday dose of the scholars of ancient Scripture pouring out their knowledge beyond measure... and the delightful interaction, interjections and insightful comments, mingled with humour, of the hosts. My Sundays are so enriched. I have to take notes to refer to later as there is so much information packed into each session, my tiny brain cannot absorb it all at once. Thankyou all for a true and rich spiritual banquet💖

I have been looking forward to this podcast and it was wonderful just as I knew it would be. I was one of those lucky students who spent six weeks in Greece with Dr. Skinner before going on to Jerusalem. I felt especially privileged because I was attending Ricks College rather than BYU at the time and Dr. Skinner and his family lived in Rexburg. Because of that, I was often welcomed into his home and enjoyed getting to know him and his family better. Thank you Dr. Skinner for such a wonderful experience.

I was intrigued by the Mafia to Mormon book you mentioned here. So after listening to this podcast I found an ebook version and finished it in 3 hours! Such an inspiring story. Thanks for sharing about your experience with the author👍

John, your book signing story reminded me of a general conference Saturday years ago when we went to conference and our young son had purchased a hymn book and asked you to please sign the hymn book at your Deseret Book book signing. Your response was "I didn't write this but I guess I'll sign it". We still have that hymnal and love that memory! P.S. we already owned all your talks on CD so thats why he bought the hymn book because he really wanted your autograph.

When I watched John Bytheway in a Time Out for Women talk about Mophia to Mormon, I bought the book. My husband and I read it. Amazing story! I had a friend who is a convert read it. Also I've given it to family members as Chrismas presents. Go get it!

I love everyone that you bring into our homes heart and mind. To lift us spiritually and knowledge. I have Dr. Skinner’s books that increase my interest knowledge and experience. Thanks again for everything you share with me. Also in comparison with the Savior was not desired of man. Joseph Smith was not as learned. This is likened unto all prophets. God pick great men as we all see and know.

You guys are so good. I especially love all of the delving into Hebrew meanings. The discussion about the meanings of serpents was really powerful, too.

Interesting story. A few weeks ago, I was going through my old church related cassettes, getting rid of some vhs and cassettes i have replaced. I came across the C.D. Mafia to Mormon. I set it aside with the intent of listening to it because I didn't remember it. I have not listened to it yet, so guess what is now on the schedule for this week. I think not a coincident.

There's a great book by an LDS author that shows that there's perfect harmony between the prophetic statements concerning the garden of Eden being in Missouri and the Old Testament account concerning the garden of Eden. It's called Canaan, Babylon, and Egypt A Comparative Theological Analysis on Creation sold by Eborn Books.

Love your podcasts. They are so inspiring. I'm learning so much more in my scripture studies.
I do have one correction for Hank. A score is 20 years, so you called John a very old man. (80 yrs) 👴

Yes, this is parallel to the sacrifice of Jesus Christ. God allowed the blood to be put on the doorpost. Jesus shed His blood on the cross, not in Gethsemane, there was no blood in Gethsemane, Joseph Smith changed the scripture to read that Jesus bled from His pores in Gethsemane, which is incorrect. So you must first know that God shed His blood on the cross. He saved us, He gave His life for us, it is important to grasp the importance and power of the blood of Jesus, it can change your life. The cross is a very beautiful and meaningful symbol among the Christian religion, it represents life and salvation, the Mormons do not honor the cross.

Hi Hollaye, you are right that in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints we do not use the symbol of the cross to the extent that other Christians do. Would you like to know why?
