  • Complete dismantling / disassembly of a Toshiba Satellite C55 series laptop.
Hard drive or RAM upgrade, screen,, DC power jack, fan, heatsink, keyboard, touchpad, mainboard etc replacement all shown.
Re-assembly is the reverse of dismantling so just reverse the steps.
Please use an earth strap before handling the internal components - this was a dead laptop so I didn't bother.
Dismantle your laptop at your own risk

Thank you! Funny, but I've only needed the first part where you remove keyboard, because after I unscrewed every screw from bottom, I couldn't take bottom plate of and was pondering what I've missed. I've had not a single bloody clue that there would be screws under keyboard. At least I had enough brains to not use force.

Just by removing the cooling fan and cpu can I replace the thermal paste?

When removing the keyboard, don't do this. There's a small clip that moves out of the way if you slide. The first on the left you slide left to disengage, all the others you slide right on.

Is there a liquid inside the screen and if so, how do you get it out? What could you use to draw out liquid? No spills or moisture, I'm talking abour any liquid that came w the screen. Please answer..

Why yes you must be talking about the pixel solvent that comes with the laptop. The solvent is guaranteed to be functional for up to 4 years but I have seen it last 7 even 9 years. The solvent acts as a medium for the light from the pixels to reach the screen; otherwise, the image would be very blurry. If you start noticing some blurriness or even some spots not even showing an image, I would recommend purchasing some replacement pixel solvent. Best Buy and Staples carry some good quality brands if you want to do it manually, the ethernet port on your laptop also doubles as the pixel solvent receptacle. Be very careful when doing this though as the solvent evaporates immediately upon touching the air, which is why breaking a screen doesn't cause any solvent to leak out. Hope I could help! :)

@@cooldjguy13 I don't even know how to explain this, it's so crazy. I developed a major skin problem that turned freaky, and I was taking samples and looking at them under my microscope. I found a clear gel that was shaped in a computer configuration. It had microscopic antennas and tiny things that looked like some kind of batteries..like rice shaped things on it's 'frame' that was shaped like a ladder..hard to explain for someone who doesn't know the computer jargon. Anyway, I was hoping to find a way to make sure all this yuck is GONE out of my system. This stuff was absolutely fascinating, and of all the years of taking samples, I have never seen anything like it. It actually pulled in it's antennas, and sucked itself in while I watched it. Fascinating, but definitely something out of a bad movie. Sorry to sound like a freak.

It looks like the CPU can be upgraded, but not sure what the fastest that could be installed! Maybe a quad core? I have a good working C55, with the Intel i3 Duo core.
